This is a basic guide for how to use our AWS account and some tips for making it easy.

Signing In

You will be given a username, password, and login link from the admins. Always use the provided link for logging in, don't try to google "AWS Login". The normal portal login doesn't work for us since we're using IAM Identity Center.

If you have logged in correctly, you should see a screen like this:

There is a list of available roles for accessing AWS (in this case just "AdministratorAccess"), click into one of these to access the account with that role.

Creating Login Bookmarks

Logins expire in one hour, but AWS has an option to create bookmarks that will automatically log you in and take you the selected resource. Just use the "Create shortcut" button above and fill it out like this with the desired target URL to generate a login link. IMPORTANT: make sure to select an IAM role for faster logins.
