Standalone Plugin Installation
When installing standalone plugins, outside of the ones provided with the installer), one must typically unzip a folder with plugin files into the plugin
folder of the CDP4-COMET IME installation. Sometimes the permission settings of Windows would automatically block the unzipped libraries without warning. In this situation the IME would load without showing any errors and the Plugin Manager would show the plugin loaded and active, however, you would not find the relevant UI controls of the plugin in the application ribbon.
To fix this problem, you will have to unblock the plugin libraries. Navigate to the folder with the plugin files in question (typically C:\Program Files\RHEA\Bin\plugins\CDP4XXXX
and find the main plugin dll
file. It should have a name similar to the folder name. Right-click on the file and select Properties
. In the dialog that shows up, at the bottom select "Unblock" and press OK as shown in the image below.
Sometimes elevated permission would be required, so copy this file onto your Desktop and unblock it there, copying back and overwriting the original.
