Exceed Camp
7 days camp for students under Kasetsart University Computer Engineering department. The goal of Exceed camp is to stimulate students to think laterally and able to work in groups under limited time.
(Note: The format could be changed)
Organizers / Admin
The organizers of Exceed Camp are mostly sophomores students. The duty of the organizer is to keep students interested in the camp by holding activities, entertaining, teaching and providing guideline. They aren't part of the "student" group which means that they do not participate in project activity (or limited participation in case of group staff).
The organizer group also includes the instructors which should be under 5 people.
Participants / Student
Students, or participants are the main target of the camp. They participate in activities as a group and they must create a project.
Students make up the most of the voters group.
Project / Product
Each group in Exceed Camp has a goal of create an application (in recent camps it is a mobile application) under limited time (in past camp it is an entire day and night). The application could also be a game.
App Build
If the product contains an installable software, that software is called an app build.
One project may have multiple app builds. For example, one APK for Android and one IPK for iOS.
Group / Project group
There are around 6 groups in Exceed camp with each group containing around 7 students.
Group staff
A group always has a staff member (called group staff) assigned whose duty is to look for the well being of the group members and encourages participation. Group staff do not participate in the project apart from being the moderator of the brainstorm process.
Visitor
Visitor are people who are invited by the instructor to be a voter or spectator in Exceed Camp. Visitor may have voting rights but cannot see the voting result before it is officially announced.
Voting
Exceed Camps in the past ask students to vote for the best project in each categories by picking a group they liked the most.
Voting category
Voters place vote in a category.
Best of vote
In "best-of" style voting category a voter can select only one project to vote for.
Star voting/Numeric voting
In star voting a voter can assign a numeric values in a range to every projects.
Backend
A part of the application that handles all logic and communicates with the mobile application
Backoffice
A part of the application that organizers can perform administrative tasks on the system. It is not part of the voting application.
Voters do not get access to the backoffice but some people who can access the backoffice are voters.
