The graphical user interface (GUI) of CAT is opened by typing the command

CATTube

in Matlab's command window. Each box represents initial conditions, settings and properties that need to be specified to solve the governing equations.

These are:

• Initial settings
• Process settings
• Thermodynamics and substance properties
• Kinetics
• Solver settings

Having specified all necessary data, one can solve and afterwards plot the results by clicking on the corresponding buttons in the box on the right.

For each specification that has to be given or field that has to be filled, CAT provides a tool tip. By moving the cursor over the specification's name or over the field, it occurs as illustrated in the following graphic.

The standard units for the properties are:

mass	gram
length	micrometers
time	seconds
temperature	kelvin

Nevertheless, units are less important in CAT as long as the same units are used for different properties. Using the tip tool, it is also shown to which properties the units used have to be consistent with.
