GoTools depends on, and comes included with, the SINTEF Spline Library (SISL). SISL is a mature geometric toolkit handling NURBS curves and surfaces. It was originally developed as the geometry core of a CAD system. SISL is a library of C functions to perform operations such as the definition, intersection and evaluation of NURBS (Non-Uniform Rational B-spline) geometries. It can also handle intersections between NURBS and implicit geometric representation such as planes, cylinders, tori etc.
