The Completion phase begins after the archivist has ingested the Transfer package into the repository and registered the AIP in the AIS database.

To complete the transfer, the archivist sends the producer a Completion notice, deletes any transitory working copies of the Transfer package, and updates the AIS Accession record and collection file. On the producer's side, they may delete their copies (original records plus Transfer package) after receiving the Completion notice.

Steps

  1. Send Completion notice to producer
  2. Delete transitory copies of the Transfer package
  3. Update the Accession record
  4. File documentation on the Collection file
