Sub-Teams

TS-EAS has opted to work in sub-teams to accomplish the subcommittee's charge.

TS-EAS is charged with a number of interrelated standards. The development, creation, maintenance, and revision of each of these standards also requires work in a wide number of areas. TS-EAS is therefore made up of several sub-teams which take responsibility for different things so that the subcommittee as a whole can work more efficiently.

The sub-teams are either standing teams, meaning that they are established and carry out work on an on-going basis, or ad hoc, formed to work on a discrete issue on a time-limited basis. If appropriate, an ad hoc team may become a standing team, or an ad hoc team's work may be incorporated into a standing team's work.

Team Structure

  • Team Lead
  • Co-Chair liaison
  • Voluntary members

Teams work internally on their team charge and then prepare a short report on their activities to be given at quarterly meetings of TS-EAS as a whole.

Teams are encouraged to bring controversial issues or questions for discussion to the Committee to seek additional input.

Members of TS-EAS are required to be part of at least one sub-team and participate actively in sub-team meetings. Depending on the sub-team's activities, the number and frequency of sub-team meetings may vary quite a bit. The best modes of communication, work structure, and meeting frequency will be decided among the sub-team members.

Reporting Duties

Though they are encouraged to communicate whenever necessary, teams are required to report their activities on at least a quarterly basis to TS-EAS as a whole for members' review:

  • Brief activity reports distributed prior to all three virtual meetings
  • Annual report distributed prior to in-person meeting at the SAA Annual Meeting
