Modern interface

It amazes me how many good DF-like games end up becoming constrained by their interfaces. You're given a fixed window size, and everything is keyboard-driven. Sure it's good enough to get the job done, but performing some tasks can become tedious. I decided that while my game isn't about amazing graphics, it will definitely have a modern interface. The interface is designed to be fast, responsive and adaptable. It's also designed to give you all the information you need without switching between menus.

Internal economy

I have played a lot of the Partician and Guild series', and enjoyed them a lot. One thing I didn't like was how products would generally pop into existence from nothing. There certainly was a bit of supply-and-demand, but not enough to make me feel like my actions were impacting the world. I am planning to implement a more realistic internal economy, not necessarily 100% closed, but hopefully something more dynamic and interesting. This won't just apply to trade goods, but also the jobs system.
