Tatooine is a town in the Midwestern region of the Sahara Desert. It is the 2nd largest city on the African continent as of 6/20/2020, and is also the meeting place of the Alliance for African Trade. It is governed by king JamessV and Darth StarWarsNerd0322. the town has previously gone by Jawahra (The Arabic word for Jewel), Azawad (Region in Mali), Maghreb (similar region), Barbaria (similar region), and Anapotamia (Land Without Rivers). The Highlight of Tatooine is the castle, the Qaleat Alraml (Arabic for Sand Castle). At its widest, the circular monument has a radius estimated to be about 60 blocks. The castle has anywhere in between 3 and 8 floors, depending on who you ask. All eight floors include:

  • The Dock, which is one end of a canal that connects Tatooine directly to the Atlantic ocean via a 1300-block boat-navigable tunnel.
  • The Pit, which is home to a 16x16x16 replica of Al Ka'abah, the famous Arabic cube. There are also various stables on this floor for a few different types of animals.
  • The Lower Walkway, which is a 1-chunk wide dark oak ring surrounding The Pit. On this floor there is direct access to the rest of Tatooine, as well as a good view of Dihya, a WIP pixel art rendition of a real-life North African Berber Queen.
  • The Middle Walkway, which is more of a ledge than a floor. This is not currently publicly accessible, but it does stick out.
  • The Upper Walkway, which is where the royal staircase found on the north side leads to. This is a band the same size and position of the Lower Walkway, but made out of sandstone. It includes supportive buttresses and a staircase to the Palace.
  • The Conference Room, which is where all in-game AfAT meetings occur. It is set up somewhat like a United Nations General Assembly room.
  • The Palace, which is actually two parts. The first part is the royal garden, where King JamessV grows wheat in the area surrounding the Palace, which houses access to the Granary, Conference Room, a giant statue of the deity Hugh, and the King's Table.
  • The King's Table, which is an elevated platform with a 14x14 map of the African Continent, used to show the nations currently occupying certain territories. This floor also has a hand-crafted throne for the King. The Qaleat Alraml is surrounded by four minarets and has a yellow dome on top. Its current height is estimated to be around Y=175, although that may change with further expansion.

Other sections of Tatooine include Atlas Avenue, which currently houses its villager trading hall and spawn, the Mos Eisley Cantina, Osei Tutu Road, West Atlas Avenue, Mansa Grove, and Dihya Street, which are all undergoing construction.

Many aspects of Tatooine are based in real life research of the surrounding real-life area, including Dihya as well as the regional flag. I would very much recommend reading up on the true history of this region, as I personally found it very interesting to learn about.

Tatooine is still under construction to this day, as JamessV is trying to heed the advice of master builder gaareth (garethisweird) and make the town stand out more as its own style of metropolis.

Tatooine has become inactive after the mayor, JamessV moved to another earth server, but survives as a result of a large town bank balance and occasional logins from the Mayor.
