Overview

Dutch Africa is a town in what is in real life, East London, South Africa. It is a European settlement on the Eastern Cape of South Africa, sharing the country with the town of New Cape, which is a African town in contrast. It was founded by Arbiter404 (DukeSilver404) after the event known as the “Crimean Collapse”, where he moved to create a new city to build one from scratch. He has so far made a good town, with an active builder, ThatGuyJoseph.

Government

Dutch Africa is a Semi-Constitutional monarchy. The Kaiser, Arbiter404, holds great influence over the lords, while the 4 Lords hold direct control of their Sectors. This is akin to a Feudal Monarchy, but more democratic.

How the system fully works The Kaiser is responsible to his people, who are represented by a lord. Each sector that a lord presides over elects their lord every 2 months. The lord speaks for the whole sector and that specific community. They are essentially the equivalent of a Senator in western democracy. The lords all vote as a council on laws and rules. The Kaisers role is to oversee the Lords, and keeps them in check, and vice versa. The Kaiser counts as an extra vote ONLY during deadlocked votes of a 2v2.

Law code

The law code, while Dutch in lexicon and in linguaculture, it is essentially borrowing DIRRECTLY from the Justinian Law Code from Byzantium. Specifically from the McAtlas cities of Constantinople and Crimea that Arbiter404 previously owned. As to better fit with the fields monarchy and princes and lords, etc, it is a strict follower of his law code, rather than the western democracy take on the law code, which in recent years, has been corrupted by real life nations like France, the uk, and the USA.
