Leveling Up - RobertSkalko/Mine-and-Slash GitHub Wiki

Now after all that, it's time to go hunting! Before actually going, you need to make sure you aren't trying to defeat mobs that are too tough for your level. Take a look at the following image.

When looking at any mob, a health panel will appear over its head. This information panel contains the level, its rarity and information about its current and total hitpoints. Once its hitpoints reaches 0, the mob will be defeated, it will drop some loot and the player that dealt the killing blow will be awarded some EXP (both vanilla and mod-based).

The damage system has been completely overridden by the mod. Attacking an enemy with an item that is not compatible with this mod will deal severely reduced damage. Therefore, it is thoroughly recommended to resort to weapons or spells introduced by Mine and Slash or those compatible with Mine and Slash.

Enemies killed by a player will drop vanilla items as usual, and additionally they have a chance to drop one or more Mine and Slash items. If it is your first time playing with this mod, it is a good idea to keep everything and test them until you find a preferred playstyle.

As you level up, you will find that the enemies that formerly were formidable foes currently give diminishing amounts of experience. It's time to investigate further regions, where more formidable enemies await!

Please note that you will be unable to use gear, weapons and spells that require a level higher than yours.
