The COUNTRY Equates - RobertArtigas/RYBEQUATES GitHub Wiki

You can download the source data from GeoNames Country Data from the GeoNames website. That is the current data reflected on the template at this time. There is some explanation of the data items enclosed, and the individual country data lines were processed by the template.

The one thing that might take a little work when you process a new file is the CONTINENT AREA you need to use between the CONTINENT and the COUNTRY. Save one of the previous templates to add these CONTINENT AREA codes in the right place. If you do not want to do this, just connect the CONTINENT code field, period, COUNTRY code field, and you should be okay to go. Both fields are available with the data.

There are only three items in the !Region/!EndRegion made available int the COUNTRY_EQUATES.EQU file at this time. They are the EQUATE, the VALUE, and the NAME. However, there is a lot more data available than is exposed at this time. Exposing that data is a user decision, and the simple loop to expose any individual field of data can be added easily.

The value string consists of a HASC value formatted CONTINENT code, CONTINENT AREA code, and ISO-3166-1 two character alphabetic COUNTRY code. You might want to save yourself some work, and just use the CONTINENT and ISO-3166-1 two character alphabetic COUNTRY code.
