Overview

An automated storage and retrieval system (AS/RS)—also called AS-RS or ASRS—is a type or genre of warehouse automation technology specifically designed to buffer, store, and retrieve product and inventory on demand. Some of the benefits from automating a low-value and easily repeated task of inventory storage and retrieval are:

1. More efficient use of floor space
2. Ability to reclaim unused vertical space
3. Improved ergonomics and safety, resulting in fewer accidents.
4. Increased throughput
5. Reduced labor costs
6. Increased order picking accuracy

Actual State

The complete process involves two warehouses, one which has the materials to produce the led keychain called Raw Material Warehouse (RM Warehouse) and other that has the finished led keychains called Finished Product Warehouse (FP Warehouse). The FP Warehouse is already implemented in the Smart Factory, the RW warehouse is still in development. You can check more information about the development in the next links.
