Lean Manufacturing

Overview

In Industry 4.0, intelligent robotic systems are used, interconnected with their environment, to make the necessary processes to be carried out more efficient.

Lean Manufacturing

Lean Manufacturing refers to the application of lean practices, principles and tools to the development and manufacturing of physical products. Numerous manufacturers are using Lean manufacturing principles to eliminate waste, optimize processes, cut costs, boost innovation, and decrease time to showcase in a fast-paced, unstable, ever-changing worldwide marketplace.

Actual State

The progress of the design and planning of the manufacturing process in a collaborative Smart Factory implementation in the Monterrey Institute of Technology Campus Monterrey is shown here. It appeals to the Lean Manufacturing technique to demonstrate the process and design of a collaborative production using cyber-physical systems that comply with Industry 4.0.

Additional Modifications and Improvements

We aim to develop lean manufacturing diagrams such as a Value Stream Map and Flow Process Diagram in order to find areas of opportunity in the process. We will also include the Value Chain of the process and improve the SIPOC diagram.
