2. Requirement specification - RichiWolf/HHZ_Projekt_Measurement-of-shopping-time-in-supermarkets GitHub Wiki

Specification sheet summary

This work deals with the measuring of the shopping time of customers in supermarkets. The project team has decided to follow the top-down strategy. That means that first a business model is designed on which everything else builds. Requirement criteria are derived from the use case. After that the research phase begins which deals with four sensor technologies. The four technologies are RFID, Augmented Reality, Beacon and different camera system, especially VLC. They are analysed if they are suitable for the implementation of the business model. After the research, the technologies are evaluated. The best technology can be used in the second part of the project for a prototype. The use cases are splited into the scenario description, a business process (modeled with BPMN), a value proposition model and a business model canvas. In this project the team worked out three different use cases. With that the project group indentified all features that are necessary for the given use cases and compare them with each other. In almost the same manner the team indentified the essential, the optional and the non-functional requirements for a time measurement product. Criteria table

This table act as a comparison between the sensor technologies. The criteria includeing range, accuracy, power consumption, life span, bit rate, disturbing factor and embedding (descriptions below). With this comparioson the project team rates the different technologys for there suitability for time measurement in a retail environment (evidently at cost utility analysis ).

Criterion Description
Range From how far a signal can be send to guarentee a stabilized communication between components of the sensor technology?
Accuracy How good is the accuracy of the position information that the sensor technology calculate?
Power consumption How excessive is the power consumption of the given sensor technology and how expensive is the re-charching of the components?
Life span What's the life span of the components of the sensor technology and how costly is there replacement.
Bit rate What's the bit rate of the sensor technology?
Disturbing factor Are there some disturbing factors that blocks the signal of the sensor technology and how common are these in a retail environment?
Embedding (no additional Hardware required) How invisible are the sensor technologys during there use for the customer according to the Internet of Things theory?
