The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time - Master Quest subset - Key Art

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time - Master Quest was released on the GC worldwide on February 17, 2003 bundled with the original Ocarina of Time on the same disk. It was essentially an official rom hack of the original game defined by adding more enemies within dungeons and frontloading the key items. You've probably completed the main set and are ready to tackle some of the most difficult Zelda subset challenges. Good luck!

This set was created by AlexHylian for the N64 release and migrated to the GC release by SporyTike. The migration to GC occurred when the console was officially supported by RA since this was the only official release of the title. The GC version uses an emulator to play N64 roms of both the original game and master quest--the N64 version was originally ripped from here and released online unofficially. Unfortunately, this migration removes support for the N64 hash on this game since multi-console hash support is not supported as of the writing of this guide, and the memory in the two versions is slightly different. Regardless, since the N64 version was ripped from the GC version, both are identical in gameplay. So do not be discouraged when you see comments complaining about the migration--all it did was add a little pause lag.

Set consists of 50 achievements worth 1,106 points

Set released on 7 Mar, 2022

General Info

Introduction

This set can technically be completed in 2 playthroughs if you can manage to do the deathless and B-less together and utilize a few strategic save copies in the file select menu, but realistically it will probably be a few more.

Unlike the OOT bonus set, glitches are allowed in this version although the set was not balanced around them which becomes evident in the speedrun achievements.

As for achievement routing, we will start with the B-less run since it is the most stress free and is a great chance to get reacquainted with the game. Then we will run through each dungeon individually, and finish up with full game deathless.

Important

There are 2 full game achievements and 1 full game leaderboard. While many skips are legal, each require that you:

  • Collect all 12 songs
  • Collect all 6 medallions
  • Complete all 6 trials at Ganon's Castle
  • DO NOT even collect Nayru's Love

B-less

This section will cover the following achievements:

Click here to toggle open the table of contents
  1. Hyrule Swordless
  2. What Is That Sound?

For this section, you will be completing a B-less run through the game.

 Hyrule Swordless (100)
Reach the second Ganon fight without pressing B in one session, you can die [It's ok for Bongo Bongo, Nayru's Banned]
Despite being 100 points, this achievement is not too difficult as long as you are patient. You can die as many times as you need, and with a little planning ahead you will not softlock yourself out of completion.

Caution

Remember this is a B-less run not just a Swordsless run, mashing B through text boxes and even while the B button is greyed out will also fail the achievement.

Note

Unmapping the B button completely helps you not accidentally fail this achievement. I recommend remapping your actual B button to C-down or whatever else you plan on equipping deku sticks on.

Warning

Do not pull out your ocarina before learning any songs or you will softlock yourself.

Warning

Collect Din's Fire before becoming adult or you will softlock yourself (if not using equip swap).

As the warning mention, you only need to collect Din's Fire before becoming adult to complete this run if you are not using equip swap. However, since this is the GC version, the game will not crash if you equip deku sticks as adult, meaning you will be able to complete forest temple and return to child if you happen to forget it.

Child Link Considerations

As Child you will need to get through 3 dungeons all while using deku sticks as your primary weapon. As such is it useful to know how to get a broken deku stick to preserve them if you are running low.

To get broken deku stick:

  1. Target a wall while standing right next to it.
  2. Backflip
  3. Untarget and retarget
  4. Perform a nuteral roll
  5. Jump slash with a stick

Here is a video with several setups to get a broken deku stick including the one I shared above.

Note

You can use deku nuts and retain the equipped broken deku stick. All other items will unequip the deku stick and require you break a new one.

You can find free deku sticks as Child in these 3 pots in Goron City, refill them by entering the shop and exiting.

Pasted image 20260602105115 Pasted image 20260602105140

In Zora's Domain, you can find a free deku stick in the right pot and deku nut in the left pot here. Again, enter and exit the shop to reload them.

Pasted image 20260602105349

In Kokiri Forest you will require boomerang to kill the Deku Babas before Deku Tree, no other weapon besides your sword will harm them and give a deku stick as Child.

Pasted image 20260602110016

Tip

Collecting the deku stick upgrade at the beginning of the game can carry you through the entire child section

Deku Tree

Assuming you perform BF1 skip, 4 deku sticks and 3 deku nuts will be required, 2 deku sticks if they are broken.

  • Slingshot room
    • 3 deku nuts to kill all the eggs before they hatch.
    • 1 deku stick jump slash to kill the deku baba while it is in a neutral stance.
  • Gohma
    • 3 deku stick jump slashes to kill Gohma

It is useful to kill the giant deku baba with manually aimed slingshot before doing the BF1 skip.

I recommend getting a broken deku stick in the beginning of the slingshot room so that you can kill any eggs that accidentally hatch, and hit the deku baba twice if needed without wasting any more than 1 deku stick.

You can also get a broken deku stick before Gohma and only use that along with a deku nut to use a total of 2 deku sticks and 4-5 deku nuts to complete the entire dungeon.

Dodongo's Cavern

Assuming bomb jump with the bomb flower in the center, 4 deku sticks will be required, 3 deku sticks if they are broken.

Assuming early bombchus and no strength upgrade, 5 bombchus and 8 deku sticks will be required, 4 deku sticks if they are broken. 3 bombchus to get to the upper floor and jump slash to the bomb chest, 1 Bombchu to get to the upper floor bomb flower with strength upgrade.

  • Bombchu Route
    • 1 bombchu to open the dungeon
    • 1 bombchu to get into the main room
    • 1 bombchu to get into the bomb bag side
    • 1 bombchu to break the boulder hiding the eye
    • 4 deku stick jump slashes to kill the lizalfos miniboss.
    • 1 bombchu to open the door to the bomb bag.
  • Both Routes
    • 2 deku stick jump slashes to kill the lizalfos that spawns on the way to the switch to open the boss door.
    • 2 deku stick jump slashes on King Dodongo.

Jump slashing from the upper floor causes you to take fall damage and will cost 1 deku stick. I do not

All Lizalfos can be killed with broken deku sticks, which can save a total of 4. The Lizalfos on the way to the boss switch is not technically required, but can be annoying to keep alive while you disable the fire if you are not quick.

Jabu Jabu's Belly

Note

As far as I am aware there is no way to get a broken deku stick in Jabu Jabu's Belly since your jump slash will go through the wall.

Assuming red slimy thing skip (bottom of the page), 5 deku sticks and 2 deku nuts will be required.

Assuming normal dungeon completion, 6 deku sticks and 2 deku nuts will be required.

  • Boomerang room
    • 2 deku stick jump slashes to kill the lizalfos.
    • Slingshot for everything else.
  • Parasite tentacles
    • You can skip the lizalfos guarding the temporary switch.
    • You can use din's fire to burn the web, or kill the like likes with slingshot.
  • Miniboss
    • The miniboss dies in 1 deku stick jump slash.
  • Barinade
    • Barinade dies in 3 deku stick jump slashes.
    • Deku nuts can be used to kill all biris at once, or boomerang if you miss the stuns.

Important

Do not forget to grab magic and Din's Fire, especially if you do not want to mess around with equip swap as adult.

Go ahead and pick up the bomb upgrade and deku nut upgrade as well.

Adult Considerations

Note

If you did not grab magic/Din's Fire as child, you will need to grab magic and Farore's Wind in order to equip swap deku sticks over.

Your goal will be to get hammer as soon as possible. Even with equip swap, there are not any free deku stick drops as adult--you will need to change back to child or buy them from shops in order to refill.

Regardless, deku sticks swing faster than hammer and are a bit more easy to use, especially against stalfos. Therefore, you may want to use them even if you have hammer. In order to get broken deku stick as adult, I find it easiest to just do a jump slash from a higher ledge at a wall like this (the child setup shared above will not work):

Pasted image 20260603060409

Note that you cannot carry broken deku stick through doors with handles since Link will put it away while he opens the door, he can carry them through the automatic rising doors though:

Pasted image 20260603060528

To get hammer you will either need fire arrows or Din's Fire, it is far easier to get the latter.

If you forgot Din's Fire, you will need to complete Forest Temple in order to return to Child. Simply enter, and immediately go to Phantom Ganon using BK Skip (detailed further in this guide). Complete phase 1 with the hookshot, then phase 2 with 5 deku stick jump slashes. You will need to deflect the magic beam with an empty bottle as deku stick (nor hammer for that matter) even hit it.

Fire Temple to Hammer

  • Small key room (method by Blackwall)
  • Stalfos Room
    • It will take a total of 6 deku stick jump slashes to kill the stalfos.
    • If not equip swapping, it will take 10 bombs to kill them instead.
  • Iron Knuckle Room
    • It will take a total of 5 deku stick jump slashes to kill.
    • It takes around 16 bombs to kill if no equip swap.
  • Fire Dancer Room
    • You can kill it with the hookshot

Since the door to the stalfos room is one with a door knob, unfortunately you will not be able to prepare a broken deku stick before entering. However, it's not unlikely that you will accidently get a persistent broken deku stick from the stalfos fight if you hit both the stalfos and its shield in once jump slash, which would save upwards of 10 deku sticks between this room and the next. Unfortunately since bombs or hookshot is necessary to make fire dancer vulnerable, you will not get to keep the same stick for that fight, but you can kill it with bombs or hookshot in its vulnerable state anyway.

Once you have hammer, there are no more resource management requirements for the remainder of the game. As mentioned above, the hammer is quite slow, so it is useful to store a jump slash and only crouch stab with it when you have the chance--that is much quicker.

You are allowed to use B in the bongo bongo fight, but if you do not store any hammer damage and only use crouch stabs you can kill it with only hammer.

Using this skip in Spirit Temple removes any further reason to return to Child. If you fall in the statue room and do not have scarecrow song, you can simply longshot onto the floormaster or torch from the Child side stairs over to the Adult side stairs.

Melodius and Blackwall left many other useful tips in the comments of the achievement.

  • Just un-map B button entirely.
  • You can get Deku Stick upgrade before Deku Tree in Lost Woods. Not necessary but it saves a lot of rupee collection.
  • Stalfos/Wolfos Strategy (with bombs): Get in Stalfos face while Z-Target, Hookshot/stun, walk backwards and throw bomb. Bomb should explode on contact. Stalfos requires 5 hits. Forest Miniboss fight Stalfos revives with full hp, so hit both 4 times, then finish off.
  • Iron Knuckle requires like 16 bombs, but after the first one just use hammer.
  • Do not forget Din’s Fire as child. There is a Redead that blocks path to Fairy Bow. You cannot kill Phantom Ganon without Hammer, which is blocked by Fairy Bow, and you can only kill Redead with Din’s or Hammer.
  • Collect lots of Heart Containers.
  • Bottle swing to play tennis with Phantom Ganon/Ganondorf.
  • Bomb Bag upgrade from Rolling Goron is nice.
  • Don’t pull out ocarina before you learn a song or the run ends LOL
  • Get Serenade early so you can warp to Lake Hylia and farm grass patches for bombs/arrows.
  • Flare Dancer needs 12 arrows, 4 per phase.
  • Do a jump-slash with the hammer and then attack Dead Hand with crouch stabs.
  • You don't have to do Shadow Temple without Lens of Truth. Getting the Lens of Truth only requires one key, assuming you know which door to use the key on. You can go to the Bottom of the Well and grab the freestanding key from the side room in the center area -- you can skip the Dead Hand fight entirely. Use the key on the door that leads to the floormaster.
  • You can get both Bomb Bag upgrades (C-Right works with dropping Bombchus at the Bombchu Bowling Alley). I'd also try to get ten gold skulltula tokens to get the adult's wallet so you can buy bombchus at the bombchu shop (For the Iron Knuckle in Fire Temple -- Have ~30 total bombchus just to be on the safe side)
  • You can go get Hammer immediately after getting Hookshot. All you need is Goron Tunic, Din's Fire, and Hookshot.
  • Boomerang is effective in stunning Phantom Ganon in the second phase, making it an easy fight once you have hammer.

Warning

Remember to double check that you have all medallions and songs before heading to the final fight! Also do not perform any barrier skip as all trials are required as well.

Once you've made it to the Ganon fight, you will have completed this achievement. If it did not pop, make sure you collected all music, and let Ganon kill you so you can leave and grab what you missed.

 What Is That Sound? (1)
Try talking to Zelda before the final fight
While you're here, go ahead and talk to Zelda once before activating Ganon for this quick achievement.

Congratulations! Hopefully this reacquainted you with this version of the game to prepare you for what's ahead.

For this section, you will be completing all individual dungeon and overworld achievements. I have routed it to make it as painless as possible, and to reduce the amount of the game you will need to replay as much as possible.

Warning

Do not do the dungeons out of the order of this guide, and do not collect goron or zora tunic before needed as this may lock you out of certain achievements requiring that you replay the game up to that point.

Warning

Do not collect any hearts before fire temple, there is a single 3 heart achievement at that point.

Tip

Be sure to collect as many gold skulltulas as you can along the way to make it easier to get 101 later. But DO NOT collect the one in the storms grotto next to the castle as Child. That is the one we will dupe.

 I Believe I Can Fly (5)
As Child Link, enter Zora's Domain before getting Zelda's Lullaby
Start the game by collecting sword and shield as usual, then perform forest escape with navi dive. Run down to the base of Zora's River making sure to not swim past the rocks. If you accidentally pass the rocks, just save and reset then do forest escape again.

Carry the cuckoo from the base of the river all the way to the water fall and simple jump from the far left side and hug the wall to get behind the waterfall and enter Zora's Domain. Go ahead and grind some deku nuts and sticks from the pots here.

While you're here, grab silver scale, bottle, and a fish for Ocarina Items. DO NOT enter Jabu Jabu yet, because you cannot finish the dungeon without slingshot.

Go collect Zelda's Lullaby, then Saria's Song, and finally the strength upgrade. Before entering Dodongo's Cavern grab a handful of Deku Sticks from the pots in Goron City or grab the deku stick upgrade in Lost Woods.

The Dodongo's Cavern achievements initiate after breaking open the first wall, making it the only dungeon we can save inside of after entering. Enter Dodongo's Cavern and save before breaking open the first wall.

Dodongo's Cavern

 Dodongo's Cavern (10)
Beat Dodongo's Cavern in less than 17 minutes and 30 seconds
We'll start with the speedrun achievement. Lucky for us, glitches are not blocked, making this a piece of cake. This route will take between 5:30-6:00 if you know where you're going. This will also be your route for damageless.
  • Open the first wall to initiate the achievement.
  • Run to the center and stand next to the bomb flower until the platform is almost risen.
  • Grab the bomb flower and immediately run over to the side where the bomb bag is.
  • Quickly store a ground jump(method 1).
  • Jump up and grab the bomb bag.
  • Use a bomb to get to the switch to raise the platform and open the giant face to enter the back of the dungeon.
  • Go around to the switch to open the boss door.
  • Enter and kill King Dodongo.

 Din's Son (25)
Beat Dodongo's Cavern without getting hit
If you got hit during your ground jump storage speedrun, simply reset and load your save.

Be wary of jumping to the center platform, if you accidentally jump too early and get stuck on the bottom part of the middle platform, there is no way to get back without stepping in the lava and taking damage.

We'll use the same route as above for this achievement. The most dangerous part by far is the ground jump storage since you do not have a lot of time to get setup before the bomb explodes and can be difficult before you build muscle memory. It's worth practicing several times on failed attempts after you get hit.

To prepare for your bomb jump, stand here to be as close to the platform as possible while still being able to grab the bomb flower:

Pasted image 20260603094945

Once you grab the bomb and jump to the other side, immediately turn 90 degrees so you can backwalk a couple steps, shield drop the bomb, slash with your sword, back walk 2 steps, and grab while still holding shield and target to store your ground jump.

The timing is tight, but once you got it, the rest of the dungeon is not bad.

After collecting bomb bag and opening up the back of the dungeon simply jump down to the middle platform and hold forward to roll.

While walking to the switch, wait here for a baby dodongo to spawn and hit a wall to despawn.

Pasted image 20260603095651

Next, be ready for the lizalfos that spawns here, immediately throw a deku nut to stun it so that you can kill is safely with 2 deku stick jump slash hits. Only attack it while it is stunned or you will probably take damage.

Pasted image 20260603100110

Also, you do not need to pull the grave to throw the bomb to deactivate the fire, but if you do pull it, do not hold down while Link is in the pulling animation. Just initiate the pull them release your control stick to avoid accidentally walking into the fire after the pull is completed.

Next, stand up here to attack the armos statues. Either activate them with a bomb or deku nut then kill them all from the safety of this ledge (stand closer to the door while they explode):

Pasted image 20260603100456

Before jumping down, make sure this one is dead as well, it often gets stuck behind the wall bomb flowers:

Pasted image 20260603100702

Finally, before entering the boss room, wait here for the baby dodongo to spawn and despawn after hitting a wall.

Pasted image 20260603100817

The King Dodongo fight is without question the easiest damageless boss fight in the game. He can only hurt you with fire or rolling into you. You can also take damage from the lava. Since he dies in 2 deku stick jump slashes, he will only have 1 chance to roll into you, if you stand right here, you will be safe and not risk accidentally stepping into the lava:

Pasted image 20260603101104

Congratulations! That was the first of many damageless dungeons. We'll use a bit more consistent strategy later on when we do the full Child damageless that does not require the ground jump.

 Dodongo Hero (10)
Defeat King Dodongo in less than 27 seconds

Warning

Remember to NOT pick up the heart container after this fight!

If you did not get the King Dodongo speedrun time yet, don't worry it is a pretty tight time. Chances are you just need to throw a bit bomb earlier. Save after you open the boss door for quick resets to the boss (you will need to re step on the button every time, but the armos switch remains activated).

Enter the boss arena with a deku stick jump slash to store the damage. You can throw a bomb so that it enters King Dodongo's mouth around right here or just before, and start spamming crouch stabs to hit the boss as soon as possible. It does not need to be perfect.

Pasted image 20260603101403

Follow the boss to the wall it hits after its wall so that it looks at you immediately. Repeat and you should consistently get a time in the low 26 seconds. It is possible to get a high 25 second time, but that is quite difficult.

Now that we're done with Dodongo's Cavern, collect magic and Din's Fire.

Great Deku Tree

 Great Deku Tree (10)
Beat the Deku Tree in less than 8 minutes and 30 seconds

With Din's Fire in hand go talk to the Great Deku Tree, save before entering, but after he opens his mouth. This will make resets easy.

You have 2 options for this route: a ground jump to skip BF1 or any other method of skipping. The bomb jump will require a pause but is a little easier than the other methods in my opinion. Either way, a top leaderboard time will require entering as Adult so just do whatever is more comfortable for you.

This will assume no bomb jump. Put deku sticks, deku nuts, and Din's Fire on your C-Buttons.

  • Enter and immediately run to the web and use Din's Fire.
  • Get close to the wall and use Din's Fire again to open the second web and kill the giant deku baba.
  • Megaflip off the deku baba or just jump to the upper area.
  • Hit the scrubs 3-1-2
  • Enter and kill Gohma.

 Farore's Son (10)
Beat the Deku Tree without getting hit
There's a good chance you got this while doing the speedrun, but don't worry if you didn't--there are always surprises while learning damageless routes.

We'll use the same route as above.

Be sure to use Din's Fire not too close to the edge of the web as there is a small area where when you drop you'll take fall damage at the end of the spell. The safest method is to just open the web and climb down. This is the first spot you can stand where you will not take fall damage.

Pasted image 20260603115848

Use Din's Fire again close to the ledge to kill the large deku baba and open the second web, then use the jump method linked above to get to the ledge. Here is what your C-Up should look like when you're lining up your B button icon for the jump. Don't forget to hold Z target as you release your C-Up with A.

Pasted image 20260603120116

Immediately drop down the hole before the business scrub attacks you. Follow this path while hugging the wall to kill the scrubs, it keeps the middle scrub from aggro-ing you while you deal with the outer two.

Pasted image 20260603131118

Finally, Gohma is fairly easy, but there are more opportunities to take damage here than King Dodongo.

If you can get the 1-cycle it's not an issue, but that's easier said than done, especially with deku nuts. As long as you mash deku nuts at the beginning of the fight, and don't get too close the threat only starts once Gohma gets up. 2 crouch stabs should be easy to get here.

Since we did not grab slingshot, we can't knock her off the ceiling. So keep and eye on the eggs that drop and destroy them one by one with deku nuts before they hatch. Once Gohma drops down again, stun her once more with a deku nut.

You should only have 1 more hit to kill Gohma. CROUCH STAB TO KILL HER, !!!DO NOT!!! JUMP SLASH. There is a chance that your jump slash is too close and you'll take damage from her. It's happened to me too many times to want to ever risk it any more.

 Professional Hero (10)
Defeat Gohma in less than 10 seconds
There's a good chance you didn't get the quick kill with deku nuts as the timing on it is extremely tight. However, with slingshot, Gohma stays stunned longer. Just long enough that the 1-cycle is free.

Collect slingshot and prepare the path to the boss, then save.

Store a deku stick jump slash upon entering the room and start the fight. Immediately hit her with a slingshot and crouch stab her to death. It's as easy as that.

Now off to Jabu Jabu. Grab your ocarina, slingshot if still needed, and if you don't have one yet, catch a fish and save.

Jabu Jabu's Belly

 Jabu Belly (10)
Beat Jabu Jabu's Belly in less than 17 minutes and 25 seconds
The fastest way to get through Jabu Jabu's Belly is this:
  • Immediately shoot the cow on the left to open the door and run straight through the room.
  • Set Farore's Wind
  • Jump towards the far door but straight down the pit to land in the water, then get on the ledge.
  • Follow this sequence to get to the boomerang room
    • Get isg on the chest and roll through the geyser to open the door. (If you roll in and get stuck, just backflip out and try again).
    • Line up so that you are facing almost parallel to the next geyser, but slightly facing away from is so that Link backwalks through it rather than being pushed out.
  • Store a deku stick jump slash, kill all the enemies, and get the boomerang.
  • Use wind to go back.
  • Use the Actor Glitch (bottom of the page, the same one as linked above) to remove the red slimy thing.
    • Note that you're taking about 3 steps away from the door.
  • Megaflip to the boss room door.
    • Drop the bomb about when the texture changes on the way up from the elevator, it's not too precise.
  • Shoot where the switch is on the far wall.
Pasted image 20260608114629
  • Enter the boss room.
  • Get the quick stuns to kill Barinade.

I used this route to get sub 5:00.

If you failed the actor glitch (I have failed it most times), then you just need to go and kill the tentacle behind the rocks, then return to megaflip to the boss room.

Even completing the whole dungeon only adds up to 10 minutes. As an alternate route from early boomerang if you are uncomfortable with megaflips:

  • You can walk straight through the boomerang room to where ruto will fall and set wind here.
  • Then climb up and enter the tentacle room halls.
  • Go right and use Din's to remove the web and kill the tentacle, then go to the opposite side and kill the next one.
  • Grab a box and go down the center hall, bomb the rocks, and kill the last tentacle.
  • After the sound effect, wind back to Ruto and go fight the miniboss, then go to the boss room.

 Nayru's Son (25)
Beat Jabu Jabu's Belly without getting hit

If you did not get this one while doing the speedrun, don't worry. This dungeon is definitely the most dangerous for Child. If we are considering the entire dungeon route, these are the dangers you'll need to look out for.

In the entrance room you can shoot the left cow head to open the door. If the bubbles are in iffy spots, throw a deku nut to kill them. You can run straight through to the door without worrying about the octorok.

In the elevator room, ride the elevator all the way down rather than jumping to avoid a bad manta spawn that may hit you in the water. If you happen to fail the isg off the chest, you can do it with a bomb, or just use your slingshot to kill the manta, then go and step on the button to open the door to ruto.

In the boomerang room, while up on the ledge store a deku nut jump slash, then get the manta rays out of the ground, then stunned with 2 deku nuts. Crouch stab them both to kill them in 1 hit. The safest way to kill the like like is with your sling (4 shots), or a single crouch stab once it comes out of its sucking animation.

The lizalfos will spawn about when you pass right here on the floor. Throw a deku nut as it's falling to stun it, crouch stab, then stun it again to finish it off.

Pasted image 20260608113227

Get your boomerang and go through the door through the hallway that the lizalfos was in. Set Farore's Wind, kill the biri and bubble, then shoot the left cow and get your bombchus. Finally go up and see Ruto.

Be careful traversing this room as dropping down any hole except the one that leads to Ruto will result in fall damage. Kill the biris too just for good measure.

Once entering the tentacle room, without moving, take out a bombchu and wait for the second red flash, then drop the bombchu. It should destroy both rocks in front of you. Use Din's to remove the web and kill the tentacle, then kill the one on the other side of the hall, finally grab a box and go down the center hall. Hug the left wall run to the switch. A Lizalfos will spawn right about here, you should be able to ignore it--he will take too long to attack by the time you're in the door.

Pasted image 20260608113713

The tentacles can be killed by throwing your boomerang as they are descending. If they attack, side hop to dodge, but you should back up and reset if your boomerang misses. In rare instances they can hit you immediately. After you kill the last one, wait for the jingle then teleport back with Wind.

Enter the miniboss. Immediately stun it with boomerang and take a few steps back, while it's spinning--after the first spin--throw your boomerang again to stun it immediately once more. It will eventually be facing away. Hit it with a single deku stick jump slash to kill it. If it starts running away from you, do not follow, just turn around and start stunning it again when it gets to you--you don't want to accidentally run into the spikes.

Open the door then hug the wall to run to it. A giant biri will drop about right here. As long as you are running on the wall it will not matter.

Pasted image 20260608114446

From the door, shoot the cow and solve this room as normal, then head to the pre-boss room. Unlock the boss door from the raised platform. To avoid the like likes, you can attempt to jump straight over to the other raised platform with the boss door--Link can make the jump and grab the ledge. It's a tight jump and easy to miss, if you do miss, just use boomerang to stun the like like you pass and enter the boss room.

Barinade is definitely the hardest part of Child to do damageless. But it is consistent, especially if you can get the quick stuns.

Enter the room with boomerang, deku stick, and deku nuts on your C-Buttons.

  • Roll forward 2 times and take a couple more steps forward.
  • Target and throw your boomerang.
  • Side hop 2 times and target + throw again.
  • Side hop back to your original position and target + throw again.
  • Mash your target button to untarget.
  • AS SOON AS you untarget, throw your boomerang straight, this will stun Barinade as soon as possible.
  • Throw a deku nut to kill all the biris.
  • Target and get your boomerang ready, release it just as before the biris separate from Barinade.
  • Throw a deku nit to kill all the biris again.
  • Walk diagonally to follow Barinade (this avoids the lightning) and stun it with boomerang as soon as possible.
  • Jump slash with a deku nut, then roll into it to make it get back up. This does not count as a hit since Link will not take damage.
  • Repeat until it's dead.

If you miss the quick stuns:

  • Pray you don't get hit on the first one and just throw boomerang again to stun it asap
  • Slash the body to kill the biris from afar. Throw boomerang to renew the stun every 3-4 slashes.
  • Pray you do not get cornered with the second stun.
  • Use deku nuts to kill the biris, but beware of incoming lightning.
  • If you do not kill all biris the first cycle, you can normally immediately stun it again.

Well done! That one was very difficult.

 Fish Hero (25)
Defeat Barinade in under 50 seconds

The strategy for this is the exact same as what was laid out directly above. You should consistently get around 40 seconds as long as you can stun it quickly in the final phase.

The quick stuns and 1 deku nut kills on the biris are required, as is the rolling into Barinade on the final phase.

To set up quick resets, set Farore's Wind and save after you unlock the door. Good luck!

Now onto adult.

Reminders

Warning

DO NOT collect goron or zora tunic yet, as not collecting them is a requirement for 2 achievements.

Tip

You should collect Biggoron Knife/Sword as this will be required for boss quick kills.

Forest Temple

 Lazy Boy (10)
Reach Phantom Ganon before obtaining the boss key

Save before you start the temple so that you can retry the speedrun achievement.

ZSR writeup with video

There are 4 parts to this skip. Go to the opposite side of the main room and get into this corner:

Pasted image 20260609100657
  1. Tap your hookshot to pull it out and aim at this wall, just to the right of the door, this is not precise.
Pasted image 20260609101014
  1. Z-Target and backflip, in the middle of your backflip tap the hookshot button again to cut your jump short. This should land you behind the gate.
  2. Link should still be facing the door, diagonal to the ledge. Press left to make Link drop and clip into the floor, and press A to get him to drop, then turn around so that only Link's shield is visible.
Pasted image 20260609101150
  1. C-Up so that you see a sliver of the wall on the right, then slowly move your view to the left until all you see is black. Exit C-Up and hold forward until you hit the warp zone.

Show Me Your Best Saving Saria (25)
Beat the Forest Temple in less than 15 minutes
If you're moving really quickly, you should be able to hit the BK skip by around 1:30, leaving you with 13:30 left to kill phantom ganon using your hookshot to hit him out of the pictures.

If you want to be optimal, get longshot beforehand, start the dungeon with longshot, equip-swapped boomerang, and deku nuts on your C-Buttons and biggoron knife equipped.

  • Immediately longshot to the top of the tree to the right and throw a deku nut to stun the skulltula.
  • Jump over and press the switch then longshot back to the spawned chest.
  • Get your key, enter the next room and deku nut to stun all the skulltulas.
  • Enter the main room and perform BK skip.
  • Start the boss, use your longshot to hit him just as he is exiting pictures.
  • After the 3rd hit, run up, throw your boomerang to stun him, then jump slash and crouch stab twice to kill.

I was able to get 3:16 with that strat. The top time seems to be a bugged entry, I'm not sure how it was done. Doing this with normal hookshot instead of longshot only adds roughly 5 seconds.

 Guardians Awaken (10)
Beat the Forest Temple without getting hit
The route for this is the same as above. Except kill all the skulltulas just to be safe.

At Phantom Ganon, start the fight then reset it by getting playing Sun's Song with Ocarina Items. This removes the cutscene at the beginning and allows you to store a biggoron sword jump slash and get isg with a bomb before the fight starts. Which will protect you in phase 2 if you accidentally get hit by an orb while attempting to hit him with boomerang (or if you didn't want to equip swap).

Standing at any corner with a triforce during the fight protects you during phase 1 if you happen to not hit Ganon as he is exiting a picture. The lightning will never hit here.

Pasted image 20260609103645

During phase 2, since you have isg you can just let the orbs bounce off you back into the boss, or you can throw equip swapped boomerang to stun him then walk into him with isg to kill him.

 Phantom Toy (25)
Defeat Phantom Ganon in less than 55 seconds
Starting and reloading the fight by dying or playing Sun's Song with ocarina items saves around 10 seconds off the timer starting with the cutscene. This is still a pretty tight time, especially if you are not using boomerang. Extremely tight if you do it with the cutscene and no boomerang.

The above strat works great for this achievement. Here are alternate strat notes:

Bow is easier to manage than hookshot in phase 1 since it moves faster and is easier to hit him just as he is exiting a picture.

In phase 2, having boomerang equip swapped means you will not need to wait for an orb to stun him. Otherwise, with biggoron sword equipped, spin attack as an orb is thrown while standing directly below phantom ganon to stun him. Jump slash as he is falling to get the first hit in, then release Z-Target and crouch stab 2 more times to kill him.

ISG works for this, but it is a bit finnicky to actually hurt the boss by walking into it. That's more useful for not taking accidental damage in phase 2.

 Spider Hunter (10)
Obtain 101 Skulltulas Token
Now that you have access to Song of Storms and Child once again, you can head over to this grotto next to Hyrule Castle. Pasted image 20260609113817

Bomb the wall to the left of where you drop in from, then kill the golden skulltula. Throw your boomerang at it, just before your boomerang grabs the skull, backflip into the exit light. An incomplete text box should pop up on your screen. Open the grotto again and repeat. You should save periodically to make sure you don't accidentally collect it and ruin your grinding spot, but double check to make sure it's there first.

You can also do this from the grotto in Hyrule Field right outside of Kakariko Village or outside of Gerudo Valley, but neither are as quick and easy as this one.

If you drop down and blow up the wall directly in front of you, this pot will always have bombs in it to keep you full.

Pasted image 20260609114250

Collect all 101 skulltulas now, or do it in increments whenever you feel like it. Keep in mind, you technically only need to collect it twice to get this achievement.

Either way, I recommend at least getting 30 for the giant's wallet right now.

Ice Cavern

 Breaking Ice (10)
Beat the Ice Cavern without getting hit
Double check to make sure you grabbed the Bow, get your giant's wallet, and if you did not get the full 100 skulltulas yet, grind rupees either by selling fish to the beggar. You can duplicate the fish with RBA and an empty bottle on C-Right or going down the open Kakariko Village grotto behind the potion store and catching them over and over. You're goal will be to purchase 2 blue fires from the potion store for 300 rupees each.

If you chose to do the RBA method, be sure to only keep an empty bottle on C-Right when you're catching the fish on your B button--that will duplicate them into the 3rd bottle slot in your inventory. As a bonus, you can catch one on B with a red potion on your C-Right to get a bottle in your 4th bottle slot as well!

Now that the chores are out of the way, save and head over to Ice Cavern.

Once you enter, immediately run over to the alcove behind the icicle in the ground.

Pasted image 20260609134549

Break the ice, wait for the rock to pass you, then sprint down the hall to the open room. Pull out your bow and kill the tektites, then activate the switch. Wait for the freezard to finish and attack, then sprint past him to the open hallway and stop here.

Pasted image 20260609134754

Immediately, as soon as the rock passes you, about where it is in the screenshot above, sprint once more down the hall. It will look like a rock is about to drop on your head, but it will unload once you load the next room. Run to the center of this room and use Din's Fire to kill the wolfos and freezards.

Now pull out one of the blue fires you bought and melt the red ice. Enter to about right here, and wait for the rock to pass.

Pasted image 20260609135125

Make sure you have Din's Fire or Farore's Wind on a C-Button the sprint down the hall. Right before you're about to be hit by the rock, use your spell. The rock will bounce off you then roll through you. Continue your race to the open room.

You can also wait right here, but it's a really tight spot to get into and really easy to mess up.

Pasted image 20260609135627

Once you make it to the end of the hall, beware of this falling icicle.

Pasted image 20260609135725

Pull out your bow and snipe the 2 ice keese, then drop down and strafe around the wolfos until it falls into a pit. There are 2 wolfos, one of which only spawns when your near the far alcove of the room, so try to stay between the entrance and the red ice. If things seem dire, use Din's Fire if you still have magic.

Finally, store a biggoron sword jump slash, melt the ice, and sprint through the hall to the door. As long as you keep moving, the ice keese and falling icicles will not hit you. Keep a finger on your Din's Fire button to mash it if you somehow miss opening the door, Din's Fire will actually kill the ice keese rather than turn them into fire keese.

Enter the boss room and throw a deku nut as the stalfos jumps out of the ground. That may make it untargetable, but you can walk behind it, crouch stab it and immediately throw another deku nut to stun it again and kill it with one more jump slash.

Well done SPRINTING! This is one of the harder damageless dungeons in the game.

 Just in the Middle (2)
Escape with Epona using only the main door

This one isn't even a glitch, just win the race for Epona, then aim at the center of the gate that Ingo is behind and run at it with a carrot run. It's a bit of a precise jump, I got it on my second attempt coming in at an angle.

Spirit Temple Part 1

With these chores completed, make a copy of your save--we're going to do Spirit Temple early.

Important

Make a copy of your save now, you'll need to partially complete Fire Temple for hammer and Water Temple for longshot--you'll want to undo this after we complete the early Spirit Temple achievement.

 Gerudo's Thief (10)
From Gerudo's Fortress enter the Haunted Wasteland as Adult Link before obtaining the Gerudo Card

In a copy of your main save, get into fire temple and collect hammer then go to Gerudo Valley on Epona.

Now go up to the upper portion of Gerudo Fortress using this path and do this trick.

Pasted image 20260609141840

If you want to read how to do it:

  1. Line up with this window, get flush with the wall, and Z-Target
Pasted image 20260609141937
  1. Do a backflip and while still targeting, press A to roll releasing target mid-roll.
  2. Tap down to turn Link towards the camera so that he's facing like this, and backwalk off the edge.
Pasted image 20260609142111
  1. Hug the right wall and continue to backwalk up to the archery area.
  2. Line up with this seam and climb onto the wall.
Pasted image 20260609142214
  1. Get about right here, and side hop down into the main area holding right the whole way down again. It should all be unloaded.
Pasted image 20260609142330
  1. Follow your minimap out to the desert. Make sure to not accidentally enter the fortress.

Great! Now to get through the desert.

 Sixth Sense (25)
Pass through the Haunted Wasteland before obtaining the Lens of Truth, the Hover Boots, or the Longshot

Here's the ZSR video of what you'll need to do.

Go to the far left portion of the moat and line up your C-Up to about right here, so that the left part of the B-Button icon is just right of the edge.

Pasted image 20260609142838

Now walk forward until Link is unlodged from the sand, then back walk until you clear the moat and side hop away from the OOB that you're about to walk into.

Follow the flags until you reach the grave then follow this path:

  1. From the grave go straight until you hit this seam in the ground. Walk just past it then turn left.
Pasted image 20260609143242
  1. Staying to the right of the seam, follow it until you reach a small hill.
Pasted image 20260609143344
  1. At the hill, stay within this polygon and walk over it.
Pasted image 20260609143442
  1. Once your over the hill, look at the texture on the ground. Walk straight towards the 3rd bright stripe, then turn left again. This is where Leevers will begin to spawn.
Pasted image 20260609143915
  1. Run straight for the box and get on top of it.
Pasted image 20260609143702
  1. Once you're on top of the box, turn to find the flags and run straight toward them.
Pasted image 20260609144010

Well done! Now enter the dungeon and exit to get Requiem.

The Chosen of the Goddess (25)
After beating the Forest Temple, beat the Spirit Temple as your second temple
Now that you have Requiem, leave to collect hammer from fire temple and longshot from water temple. Since this is a copy of your main save, you can get fire tunic for this. If you RBA for black/green gauntlets you can even skip the Child portion of the temple!

Since we need to redo the dungeon later anyway, I won't go too much into detail about doing it damageless yet. Just complete it as normal for this achievement. We can however, do the boss achievement now.

I'll Come Back To Haunt You! (10)
Defeat Twinrova twice
ZFG Video Long video of the full glitch (Thank you Plusle for finding these)

This one is deceptively difficult. Essentially you want to kill Twinrova then hit her again with the magic coming out of your shield.

In order to set this up, hit her with 5 Master Sword jump slashes. Then on the last one, crouch stab so that Twinrova gets hit while magic is still coming out of your shield, and she gets hit again. You will know that you've done it if you see her on fire/ice as she is rising.

Wait 7.5 to 8 minutes for the new Twinrova to appear.

Now for the hard part. The magic will always be shot from the same spot, but Twinrova's hitbox will continue to move around the room as normal. Start by getting 2 charges of either magic that comes from the single spawn.

You'll see that in the long video, the player is using hookshot to see if the Twinrova's hitbox is in the same spot as the magic. If the hookshot shoots right through the air, dodge and get back in place to check again. Once the hookshot hits the hitbox, block whatever magic comes out and kill Twinrova as normal. If the magic is the opposite of whatever you collected, try again. It is a 1/2 chance you'll get the kill which mercifully is only 1 hit.

Awesome! Time to reload your previous save from before going to the desert.

Water Temple

With your save reloaded head down to Lake Hylia and open the Water Temple. Make sure you have full health, then save and enter.

 No Fish Here (10)
Beat the Water Temple before obtaining the Zora Tunic
You got in here with no zora tunic! Make sure you have full hearts so that you get the full 24 seconds underwater, which gives a lot of leeway. There's only one part that you need to worry about running out of breath on that will be covered in the damageless achievement, which you will do at the same time.

 Don't Slip Up! (25)
Beat the Water Temple without getting hit

Due to an extremely easy BK skip, this is probably the easiest damageless achievement in the game.

Tip

If you Z-Target, jump in the water, and make Link move, then equip iron boots, so long as you continue targeting and moving, Link will continue to swim with iron boots on.

Start by using Farore's Wind to set the teleport to the entrance.

Get right next to the hall where Ruto is, then equip iron boots to drop down. While in the hallway, when your timer is at around 18-19 seconds left, unequip your iron boots to reset your timer. After the cutscene, once you surface you're safe from drowning--note that this takes 12 seconds to surface. You will not need to be underwater for this long again!

Now that your timer is reset, get against the wall, Z-Target and start moving forward. While continuing to do this, pause and equip iron boots, unpause and continue to target and move forward to swim into the longshot room. Once you land, shoot the thing on the wall to spawn the chest. Now hookshot the chest and mash A to open it underwater. ZSR video

Resurface and go back to your wind point and head into the pre-boss room. shoot the switch and longshot onto the target tower, climb it, then do BK skip (same link as above, bottom of the page).

To do BK skip, just pull out your sword, side hop towards the boss door, jump slash, and walk forward.

Morpha is very easy, just get into a corner, longshot the boss and smack it. Repeat until it's dead. As long as you stay in the corner there is no way it can hit you. If you need to, shoot the empty tentacle to despawn it and allow the actual boss to get into the closer position.

 Slime Toy (25)
Defeat Morpha in less than 35 seconds

It is technically possible to take damage doing this which is why it's not in the route above.

This works better if you have already watched the intro cutscene, just like in Forest Temple, so start the fight and save and quit, die, or play Sun's Song to reset.

  • Immediately get into the corner, and grab Morpha when it raises.
  • Keep targeting it, and continuously mash the longshot button while walking around Morpha, then walk towards the corner while dragging the boss with you.
  • Once it's in the corner, stop mashing hookshot and start swinging your sword, press forward occasionally to make sure you keep hitting it.
  • If done right, Morpha will be stuck in the corner and get killed with plenty of time left.

You can do this with either Master Sword or Biggoron Sword. It is obviously easier with Biggoron Sword, I was comfortably able to get 30 seconds with Master Sword in fight with no cutscene.

Fire Temple

Now that you've finished Water Temple, get fire arrows, and RBA with fire arrows on C-Right. This will give you the Fire Temple boss key! Great!

 No Barbecue Here (25)
Beat the Fire Temple before obtaining the Goron Tunic
With Fire Arrows and the RBA'd Fire Temple boss key in hand, go ahead and scale Death Mountain. You're going to need to do a megaflip from the upper portion to the lower area. This is not precise at all--just stand roughly where the ledge is that drops down to the heart piece, then do a megaflip down. If you feel like you're running out of time, reset your time with the grotto that'll be right in front of you, heal from the sheika statue in it as well.

According to CycloneFN you can also jump down from here so long as you have scarecrow song:

Pasted image 20260611111322

Once you make it down, get Bolero, reset your time if needed, then make your way into the Fire Temple save, and make a new copy of this save.

Important

Make a copy of this save!!! it's likely to die at least a couple times while attempting Extreme Volvagia up next, and you don't want to accidentally save over this file when you still need to do damageless.

Luckily this is not single segment. You are allowed to die, leave, save and quit, whatever it takes to get through. Unfortunately, we will need to take damage, so we cannot do the damageless achievement yet. Get the small key in the Darunia's room, then go through the miniboss gauntlet to get your hammer.

Now go back to the main room and run into the fire at the base of the stairs. You'll see that as long as you stand still, Link will be on fire, this is slowly ticking Link's health down where you can't see. Once you get down to 1/4 of 1 heart remaining, stand still and let Link burn until just before Link dies. It's kind of a tight timing that you may need to practice, I watch Link's hand after he stands up--Link will sway left then right, move just before the far end of the right sway. If you die, just run forward and try again.

If you succeeded, when you enter the pre-boss room, no timer will show up! Well done!

Now go to the platform where the key was and drop to the lower level, and while hugging the wall, simply jump to the boss door. You can also do a megaflip from the edge of the opposite platform. If you mess up either, you'll die immediately in the lava.

Now just kill Volvagia without taking a hit :)

 Extreme Volvagia (25)
Defeat Volvagia with 3 hearts only without using the Goron Tunic and without healing once [Unequip the Goron Tunic before the fight]
 Who Needs Hammer? (5)
Beat Volvagia without pressing any of your C-Buttons

We'll attempt to do these both at the same time! Enter the room and store a hammer jump slash, then start the boss fight. ALL attacks will need to be crouch stabs in order to win--hammer damage is required to stun the boss to make her vulnerable. If you mess up the hammer achievement, just attempt it again during the damageless run.

It is easy to hit with a crouch stab if you are standing about 2 steps away, directly in front of the boss, then aim up. Crouch stab the vulnerable boss and repeat--it will take 4 stun-hits to win.

You will need to do this damageless, which can be rough if you are not used to the fight. Here are a few tips:

  • Do not stand right next to a hole Volvagia is about to raise out of--she will do an attack as she comes up.
  • Do not approach Volvagia if you need to run across the arena, she may do a claw swipe when you are close.
  • After you hit the boss, she will do 1 of 2 attacks in the air, for both of them jump off the side of the arena--this will make Link hang off the side.
    • This outright skips the one where she follows you and blows fire.
    • On the falling rock one, hang at around the middle of the wall, and move left or right if the rocks are getting close as shrapnel can hit you.
  • Wait until the rocks stop falling until you come up from the wall.
  • DO NOT step in any of the lava holes, you will immediately die.

Well done! Now let's reload the main save and try the damageless run.

 Bro Wake Up (25)
Beat the Fire Temple without getting hit

Grab Fire Tunic before you begin, save, and enter the Fire Temple.

First thing's first. This fire is super annoying, as long as you know it's there, it won't be an issue, but it's such a kaizo move. Climb the side walls to get around it.

Pasted image 20260611114401

Use Farore's wind in Darunia's room and collect the key, then enter the hammer tunnel while mashing the button for deku nuts. This will avoid the kaizo keese that's waiting for you right next to the door. Kill it and roll into the main portion of the arena.

Pasted image 20260611114612

As long as you move quick enough, the stalfos shouldn't hit you while you pass. Here's a few tips regarding stalfos:

  • Store a biggoron jump slash at the beginning of the fight/before the fight begins.
  • Stalfos will both attack you, unless you are targeting one of them, then only the one you are targeting will attack.
    • The only exception to this is if the other one gets pushed against a wall--it will jump slash you from there.
  • Always have your shield up while fighting them. This means tapping hookshot to put your biggoron sword away, or just changing to master sword with a jump slash stored.
  • Keep a couple steps of distance--if you are too close, they can hit you over your shield. This is the case for jump slashes from them as well.
  • Only attempt to hit them when they are stunned.
  • Once you do stun on, untarget it and crouch stab it from behind. This makes it jump away from you, during which you can stun it with another deku nut.
    • You want to crouch stab, because this allows Link to stand up quick enough to take advantage of the back jump and throw a deku nut.
    • If the other one is too close and might hit you, just do a normal jump slash and stun it again later.
  • They will take 3 master sword jump slashes, 2 biggoron sword jump slashes, or 1 of each to kill.
  • I find it easiest to always equip master sword, then crouch stab biggoron jump slash damage onto them. I think master sword offers a lot more flexibility while letting you keep your shield up.

Once the stalfos are dead, store another biggoron jump slash if you need, then enter the next room and hold shield at the entrance (not biggoron sword "block") and wait until all the flying tiles have blown up, then use anything except hookshot to wake the iron knuckle.

Killing the iron knuckle is as easy as being patient. Walk forward enough to bait an attack, backflip to dodge, then counter with a crouch stab or jump slash. Keep in mind after the armor falls off, you just need 1 more biggoron jump slash to kill it.

The flame dancer is a break compared to the previous 2 rooms. Just hookshot it down, then jump slash it with your master sword. If it runs away, wait for it to come around the other side to try again. I do not recommend following it--I have accidentally ran too close to the pillar in the middle and made Link climb it and take damage. After the final hit, backflip and put up your shield to avoid the explosion. You can also attack it at a range with arrows or hookshot.

Once you kill it and collect hammer, wind back to the pre-boss room and use the jump trick you used in the previous run to get to the boss door. Since you have goron tunic now, you won't need to worry about taking damage in the lava--you'll have more than enough time to jump back to the platform.

Use the same strat as above to kill Volvagia. If you missed the hammer achievement, try it again here! Otherwise, she will only take 3 hits to kill with biggoron sword.

Great work! The game is almost complete, and you are officially free to pick up hearts if you want.

Shadow Temple

 No Shadows Here (25)
Beat the Shadow Temple before obtaining the Lens of Truth
 Shadow Link (25)
Beat the Shadow Temple without getting hit

Grab double magic, Nocturn, and save. Then head to the Shadow Temple.

This one is fairly simple, you only really need lens of truth for seeing through walls if you do not know they're there, the first puzzle, and the walk to the boss door if you do not know the path.

Note

We will try to do the damageless Shadow Temple at the same time as the lensless achievement. However, this is not needed. We will need to gamble on the torch puzzle at the beginning for each attempt. If this gets frustrating, just complete the dungeon, get lens while earning the Bottom Line achievement, then try damageless again.

At the beginning of the dungeon, you will need to guess which one of these torches is lit. It is always one of the back 3. Once you get this, you have a run going! If you mess up, simply load your save and try again.

Pasted image 20260611142805

Once you get the gate open, set Farore's wind , then bomb this portion of the wall and continue through the gate you previously opened.

Pasted image 20260611143204

Run through the left wall next to the beamos and go to the far right corner of the room. Now back walk to start climbing down this spot on the floor.

Pasted image 20260611143750

Target and kill this skulltula and open the chest that's hiding right here.

Pasted image 20260611143648

Now return to your wind point, and go back to the wall you bombed at the beginning.

Go around the center of the room, to the opposite wall, and play Song of Time between these 2 pots.

Pasted image 20260611144134

While standing right through the invisible wall, shoot this eye in the center of the left wall--it should be open after you hit it.

Pasted image 20260611144254

Now run to the other side of the room and run through the invisible wall in the corner. As long as you keep moving, the fire will not hit you.

Pasted image 20260611144329

Kill Dead Hand and collect Hover Boots. Spawn Dead Hand by backflipping into one of the hands, and hit it with 2 biggoron jump slashes to kill. Be sure to keep a distance from it when it is going underground. Also, do not wait too long for it to walk across the room to you--meet it half way. It may just go underground when it reaches you.

Return to your Wind point and drop back down to where you picked up the key. Now use block skip to get down to the boat. Hold target for all of these steps:

  1. Get into the corner opposite of the climbable wall.
  2. Sidehop to the left 3 times.
  3. Press B to swing your sword, then hold R to bring up your shield mid swing.
  4. Repeat B -> R
  5. Press B one more time without bringing up your shield.
  6. Mash A to jump slash 2 times to get through the wall.

Get onto the fairy and ride it to the port. Standing right here at the back will keep the stalfos from hitting you. This spot is pretty small and does need to be right at the back and in the center. Turn around and look at the stalfos to get them to strafe and walk off the ledge.

Pasted image 20260611150341

Knock down the bridge, and go into the pre-boss room and set Farore's Wind. Then play song of time, hit the eye, hookshot to the target, and press the button. Drop back down and roll to not take fall damage, then climb back onto the bridge from the side and cross into the invisible maze.

Walk straight until you hit the wall right in front of the door, then turn left. Use arrows to kill the like like and bubble from afar. Walk straight until you hit the visible wall, then turn right and enter the room.

Pasted image 20260611150849

Collect the standing key from behind the jars, then come back out. Rekill the like like and bubble, then go to where the like like was, turn left to the close visible wall, then turn right to go to the locked door.

Put Din's Fire, Farore's Wind, and deku nuts on your C-Buttons. Enter and take 2 steps towards the right, and immediately use Din's Fire. As soon as the animation is over, mash deku nuts and roll over to the chest. Open it and mash Wind to return to the pre-boss room.

For this room, equip hover boots, and run forward until you land on a platform, then turn left about 20 degrees (see below) and run until you hit another platform. Depending on your angle, Link may begin to drop--he will catch the ledge. From here run to the boss door platform and enter.

Pasted image 20260612073218

Turn about this much from the first platform you land on. Run straight from here, then after landing on the far platform close to the boss door, turn and run to the boss door platform. image

Store a biggoron sword jump slash as you are falling and make sure to equip bow. Keep hover boots on for the first arrow shot.

Once the fight starts, target one of the hands and shoot it, then unequip hover boots, and target the other hand. If the other hand turns into a fist, side hop 2-3 times to dodge. Otherwise, just shoot it mid attack to stun it. Now face between the hands and get another arrow ready. Just before/just as the hands are passing you, shoot to stun the boss, crouch stab 3 times to kill it.

Great job! Now let's reload the save, go through the temple again, and set Farore's Wind at the pre-boss room, get ice arrows, and return.

 Relax (3)
Freeze the Bongo Bongo's hands
Just shoot the Bongo Bongo hands with ice arrows. :)

 Shadow Specialist (25)
Defeat Bongo Bongo in less than 18 seconds

This is probably the tightest speed kill in the set. But there is a strat:

Thanks to CycloneFN for the strat and BlueyLewis for recording it

Store a biggoron jump slash as you are falling, and unequip hover boots.

  • Start the fight by walking right (this makes it change direction) and immediately targeting and shooting the right hand with an ice arrow.
  • Then turn, and manually shoot an ice arrow at where the eye will be.
  • Finally, walk up and crouch stab it 5 times to kill it.

This is easier said than done. Those arrow shots really do need to be immediate. Without ice arrows it's immensely tight, I was only able to do it once in about 20 tries with a time of 17.96. Good luck!

Bottom of the Well

 Bottom Line (10)
Beat the Bottom of the Well without getting hit

With Shadow Temple completed, (or at least the lensless run completed), we can now go do Bottom of the Well damageless.

In the context of this achievement, "beat" refers to collecting the Lens of Truth, which is not too hard to do in this version of well! But there are a couple surprises we'll need to be aware of.

Open the dungeon, save, then enter. Run past the redead at the beginning, since it's crouching, there's no way it will get to you in time.

There are no bubbles or invisible skulltulas in Master Quest Well, so just run around to the opposite side and play Zelda's Lullaby to open the gates.

Turn around and enter the gate, then go left to the cage and hit the switch on the wall to open a door. Go through the door you just opened, and follow the wall to get the key. Return to the main room and set Farore's Wind.

Pasted image 20260612080034

Turn left, and go immediately out into the hall. Turn left again and go straight to the wall and turn right to crawl through the hole. Open the door with the switch on the wall, and get deku nuts ready. Open the door and mash through Navi's text, take a step forward, and throw a deku nut right away to stun the floor master. You should hear if it was actually stunned or not, if not turn your camera and decide if you want to try again or just run past. Sprint through the room to the locked door and go through before a wall master falls.

Bomb the debris in the corner and step on the switch then return to your Wind point. Now drop down the hole in the center of the room that you opened.

Warning

From this point on there are constant wall masters, keep moving to dodge them! If done correctly, you should only see 2.

Step on the switch to spawn the Lens chest, then wait for this rock to pass. You will need to dodge one wall master while doing this.

Pasted image 20260612080712

Now enter the hall where the rock blew up right in front of and get where you can see all the redeads and play Sun's Song to stun them. If you do not have that, use Din's Fire twice to kill them all. Open the chest to get your achievement!

Spirit Temple Part 2

 The Spiritual Boy (50)
Beat the entire Spirit Temple without getting hit. You can take damage at the Desert Colossus. (See comment)

Now back to Spirit Temple! Save inside gerudo fortress, and go through the desert however you feel like, then arrive and collect Requiem.

For this route, we're going to skip all of Child's section. If you RBA'd black/green gauntlets this will be even safer since you can just hookshot up into the ceiling of the main room, but this route will assume you did not.

Your first trick will be to get through the geyser on the right side of the room. Stand about right here in front of it, pull out hammer, and crouch stab the wall.

Pasted image 20260612081721

Pause on the first frame Link moves and equip hover boots. Unpause and Link should blast through the geyser. If Link does not go all the way through, run forward to get out and try again. You need to do this, otherwise Link will void out in the ceiling and take damage.

Go through the middle door in the back, set Farore's Wind and return. There are wall masters in that room, so be quick!

Now, back in the main room, collect all the silver rupees, shoot the switches on the walls, and collect all the chests in the room for 2 keys and some bombchus.

Go back to your wind point and run to the other side of the room. Let a wall master fall, then get into the corner in front of the climbable wall and aim your longshot right to the top of the wall.

Pasted image 20260612082530

Link will clip through the gate, and you'll be able to run to the door. Avoid the stalfos that spawn when you get up there.

Note

If you fail the clip, the stalfos will spawn and make it very dangerous to go up there. Simply leave the room and re-enter to despawn them and try again.

Now you'll be on the adult side of the dungeon, great! Climb half way up the first set of stairs and wait for the floor master to throw itself over the edge down to the center.

If you came from the center floor thanks to black gauntlets and do not have scarecrow song, simply go up the Child side, watch out for this flying pot, and longshot onto the floor master on the adult side (or torch if it jumped off somehow).

Pasted image 20260612083003

Go up and through the locked door and the Adult side, and watch out for this fire.

Pasted image 20260612083048

Stun all the beamos with a deku nut, then kill them 1 by 1. Finally, carefully clear the puzzle in this room, set Farore's Wind, and go through the far door.

immediately stun both dinolfos with deku nuts, then stand between them and charge a brown spin attack with biggoron sword. If placed correctly, this should hit them both 2 times and kill them in 1 attack. If not, stun them again and kill them each with master sword jump attacks.

Warning

DO NOT ever directly attack dinolfos if they are not stunned. There's an extremely high chance they will dodge and counter attack. Releasing your spin attack after their stun wears off is fine.

Attack the chest, DO NOT open the chest, and go through the door. Walk up to the middle level and let the invisible floor master jump above you and fall to the lower level, then kill it with a jump slash and quick spin to kill the spawns. Pull out lens to see them if needed.

Continue in to the Iron Knuckle. See Bro Wake Up for tips on fighting these if needed.

Get your Mirror Shield and return to the dinolfos room. The floor master will not have respawned, but the dinolfos did. Kill them the same way as before. Open the door on the other side of the room and immediately pull out ocarina to play Sun's Song, or use Din's Fire twice immediately to take care of this gibdo waiting for you.

Pasted image 20260612084215

Collect the boss key, then return to your Wind point in the beamos room. Now turn right and open the locked door. Immediately run to the corner in the opposite side of the room, pull out bow and aim up. There will be 4 fire keese, all of which will eventually see and attack you. Kill them in order of distance, only changing target if one of the higher ones starts diving at you first.

Now collect all the silver rupees. You will not take fall damage in this room, unless you grab the wall and do not roll. Dropping without grabbing the wall will not cause fall damage, and you can always roll to stay safe.

Run by the slug and through the door, then play Zelda's Lullaby to open the next door. Use your hammer on the crate in the corner to open into the mirror hall. There are no flying pots here like there are in the base game.

Stand in the doorway and kill the bubble with arrows, then the torch slug. Now walk into the first room and kill the bubble in the next room with arrows again, and get your deku nuts and biggoron sword ready for the dinolfos in the last room. You'll see it from about the middle of the last hall right here.

Pasted image 20260612085140

Now that all the enemies are dead, go back and activate the sun to turn off the fire around the last mirror, push the mirror into place, then the one under the sun into place and head down to the elevator.

Lower yourself, then break the face, and wait for the wall master to fall. You should have enough time to just hookshot to the gate, but better safe than sorry.

Note

If you somehow lowered the elevator without riding it down, jump down and roll to not take fall damage. Hookshotting down will make you take fall damage.

The Iron Knuckle pre-boss is just a normal Iron Knuckle with more health.

Twinrova is just a normal fight. Just sit in a corner and shield without targeting whenever one begins charging a magic shot. If you can't see the one charging magic, or she's too close, just keep running to avoid the magic and subsequent giant AoE damage spot. Phase 2, just block all the magic and you will never take damage.

Congratulations on doing all the main dungeons! Now off to Ganon's Castle!

Ganon's Castle

Pff, Let Me Show How Strong I Am (100)
Beat all six trials in Ganon's Castle without getting hit
Collect light arrows, buy a magic potion, refill deku nuts, arrows and bombs, and activate the rainbow bridge then save.

Enter the castle and kill the 2 bubbles with arrows, then the 2 armors statues with bombchus or bombs. Kill them quickly after the activate or they may find their way off the pillars they are on. Now activate the Iron Knuckle with an arrow and kill it.

The trials are a little rough, particularly forest and fire, so we'll get those out of the way as soon as possible.

If you ever need to reload on supplies, there are several business scrubs behind an invisible wall under the bridge. Enter the room and activate them all with hammer if needed.

Forest Trial

Enter the trial and kill the stalfos. Collect your key, then go into the next room.

This will be the path we take.

Pasted image 20260612091442

Wait until the beamos on platform 1 is turning away AND the wind is blowing, then step out into the wind with hover boots on to get pushed over there. Stun the beamos with a deku nut (DO NOT kill it, the head is very likely to hit you), and while it is stunned throw a bomb at the beamos on platform 2. Jump over to where it was after its head explodes and before the first beamos gets unstunned. Throw a bomb at the beamos on platform 3 and wait for it to explode before jumping over, and finally repeat once more on platform 4. Stand on platform 4 with iron boots and play Song of Time several times to get the armos statue to drop onto the switch and open the door.

Tip

If you skipped iron boots, just get onto platform 4 while the fan is not blowing. After each time playing Song of Time, Link will fall and grab onto the ledge. DO NOT climb back up until the wind stops or Link may be blown into the void.

Great! Now onto the Spirit Trial.

Spirit Trial

Enter and immediately kill both fire keese with arrows, then the torch slug. Now pull out hammer, aim between the chairs about right here, and jump slash to activate the switch. No Iron Knuckle needed!

Pasted image 20260612093912

Enter the room and kill the bubble with arrows, then open the door with a bombchu. Enter, and do not move. Now kill this bubble with arrows. Kill the gibdo and both both redeads by stunning them all with Sun's Song then stepping into the center and using Din's Fire twice. Now shoot the web on the ceiling with fire arrows, and activate this sun, and the one on the opposite wall from it, and open those 2 chests. Then activate the sun behind the spirit medallion symbol above the door to open it.

Pasted image 20260612094323 Pasted image 20260612094407

Great! Now with golden gauntlets, head over to the Fire Trial.

Fire Trial

Start by jumping onto this moving block, then putting on hover boots and going over to this block.

Pasted image 20260612092645

Stand in just next to the middle, target, and backflip as soon as it reaches its peak height to get the silver rupee. Only attempt to grab the rupee once per jump. After grabbing it, wait until the platform you're standing on is low, and this platform is moving towards you to attempt to run to it. There's a chance Link will grab onto the ledge and climb up, and if it moves the other way, Link will take damage from the fire.

Pasted image 20260612092611

Kill the beamos by throwing bombs from the moving block, then climb up, throw the rock, and collect the silver rupee. Now unequip hover boots and jump back down to the moving block. While moving back and forth, hookshot onto the target tower, then jump onto the other moving block behind it. While still on the block, use hammer to flip the slugs and hop onto the platform they're on. Kill them and throw the rock and hookshot back onto the upper portion of the target on the target tower and climb up.

It's very important to not wear hover boots here. Now roll jump from there straight onto the middle block, then at the peak of the elevation, roll jump again straight to the final silver rupee.

Pasted image 20260612093521

Half way done and finished with the hard ones! Onto the Water Trial.

Water Trial

Run to the opposite side of the geyser and immediately use Din's Fire to kill all 3 freezards in one shot.

Pasted image 20260612094659

Now throw a bomb at the dead hand (it might take 2) to deactivate the geyser and grab 3 blue fires. Do not approach the dead hand to avoid falling icicles.

Pasted image 20260612094843

Now melt the ice around the door and go through. Pull out your bow and kill both flying keese, then both keese on the rocks (including an invisible one).

Pasted image 20260612095036

Collect all the silver rupees on the ground (including the one in the block pit) before doing the block puzzle and grabbing the last one. Note that you can melt the ice next to the door by dropping blue fire in the wall right here.

Pasted image 20260612095231

2 left! Let's go to the Shadow Trial next.

Shadow Trial

Start by shooting the bubble, then the bomb flower. Hookshot onto the that just spawned, put on hover boots, and pull out lens to see the moving platform.

Get on it, and collect the silver rupee, and hover over to the bomb flower for the other silver rupee.

Now hover over to the platform with the beamos. If it targets you, block the laser with your mirror shield. Kill it, then light the torch and head over to the other platform.

Stun both beamos with deku nuts as you jump over then kill them both. DO NOT drop a bomb between them, there's a good chance it will blow prematurely and damage you--just stand off to the side and throw a bomb at one of them and it will probably kill both.

Shoot the eye on the wall of the other platform behind you and collect your key. DO NOT stand where the chest will fall or Link will void out.

Pull out your lens to reveal the path going to the last beamos, follow it until there's a straight path and drop 2 bombchus to kill the last beamos and collect the silver rupee.

Longshot back to the small key chest, and follow the invisible path to the final silver rupee. Roll at it with hover boots on as the guillotine is raising. As long as you are rolling towards the door, Link will collect the silver rupee with no issue. If you are rolling from the other side somehow, Link will fall and void.

Now off to the Light Trial. Almost done!

Light Trial

Enter and immediately stun the Dinolfos with deku nuts and kill it with a brown charge biggoron spin attack. Then kill both the torch slugs if they are still alive.

Go through the door, then go through the locked door, then without moving from the first spot, C-Up and aim right here.

Pasted image 20260612100723

Drop a bombchu to kill the beamos, them hookshot up to where it was. If the bombchu misses, leave and re-enter--you don't know if the bombchu will make its way around to you somehow. DO NOT just run around and follow the rock, there are fire walls that block the way.

Now face the locked door and wait until the rock passes to jump down and open it.

Pasted image 20260612100933

Activate the switch in the right side torch with a spin attack then go through the wall.

Awesome job! Time to finish out the game with a victory lap against Ganon.

 Little Mouse (25)
After finishing the barrier, beat the rest of the game without getting hit
Resupply deku nuts and biggoron knife if needed, save, then enter the main tower.

Sprint straight through the keese room and enter the first door.

Just like we've done before, stun both dinolfos with a deku nut and kill them both with a brown charge biggoron spin attack. If either survive, stun them again and finish them off with a quick spin or jump slash.

Store a biggoron jump slash and go onto the next room. Kill the stalfos just like you did during  Bro Wake Up making sure to not step into the fire, and collect the boss key. For this stalfos room, I find it useful to stun only the left stalfos as it is spawning, running behind it, crouch stabbing, then immediately stunning it again and killing it. This makes it just a 1v1 with the other stalfos.

With a biggoron jump slash still stored, go into the next room. Wake one of the iron knuckles up with an arrow, then kill it and wake the other to kill it as well.

Now onto Ganondorf.

Ganondorf

Start the fight by immediately running to the edge of the arena and storing a biggoron jump slash.

Now get an empty bottle into Link's hand and wait for Ganondorf to start charging an orb, immediately jump to the center platform right underneath him, and swing a bottle half a second after the orb is thrown. As long as you hit it back, it will hit Ganondorf 9 times out of 10. To avoid the possibility of a counter attack, run to the right after you hit it, and if it is reflected, jump back to the outer ring and repeat.

Once Ganondorf it stunned, hit him with 5 crouch stabs to kill him. If you do not get the 1 cycle, sit in the corner and block the orbs with your mirror shield until Ganondorf starts charging the giant attack. Shoot him with a light arrow while he is charging, then get your last hit or two in to kill him.

Tower Escape

Contrary to popular belief, this portion is not RNG!

Outdoor rocks are on a timer, as long as you are running straight to the door the entire time you are outside, you will not get hit. Even if you wait for Zelda at the door.

Indoor rocks are all proximity activated at specific spots, all marked here. Just run close enough to Zelda to get her to run, then avoid these spots.

first indoor room:

Pasted image 20260612103633

There are no falling rocks in the second indoor room, just follow Zelda around the rubble on the ground.

There are no falling rocks in the third indoor room either. It is the most difficult stalfos fight in the game since the arena is so small. Just do your best to focus on 1 at a time.

fourth indoor room:

Pasted image 20260612104151 Pasted image 20260612104226 Pasted image 20260612104307

final room:

Ganon

Ganon is a very easy last boss. Just roll between his legs and spin attack or deku nut his tail. Take it slow and this should be a piece of cake.

Congratulations! You've beaten the game! Now that you have a complete save, let's finish the "Bank" achievements.

Bank

To set up your save, max out your arrows, get full magic, buy 4 green potions, then empty your wallet and save. You'll be reloading this save between each achievement as it's a lot easier to do this than empty your wallet between each one. Thanks to CycloneFN for most of these methods.

 Bank - Tree (10)
Find 500 Rupees in the Deku Tree in one session [Starts when you get the Giant's Wallet and 00 Rupees]

Enter Great Deku Tree as adult. I did so with this method. Now kill the 2 keese in the main room with light arrows, leave the room and re-enter, from the slingshot room and set Farore's Wind. Kill them again, then warp back, reset wind, and repeat until you've killed 10 keese total.

 Bank - Cavern (10)
Find 500 Rupees in Dodongo's Cavern in one session [Starts when you get the Giant's Wallet and 00 Rupees]
Enter the back area of the dungeon, then make your way to the lizalfos spawn. Slash it once with biggoron sword, then shoot it with a light arrow. Leave and re-enter. You can set Wind at the door next to the armos statues. Do this 10 times.

 Bank - Belly (10)
Find 500 Rupees in Jabu Jabu's Belly in one session [Starts when you get the Giant's Wallet and 00 Rupees]
This is the only one you will be Child for. Go to the pre-boss room, the set Farore's Wind, and kill both like likes with a stored deku stick jump slash (stun them with boomerang). Warp back to reload them, and repeat until you eventually get all your rupees.

 Bank - Forest (10)
Find 500 Rupees in the Forest Temple in one session [Starts when you get the Giant's Wallet and 00 Rupees]
Kill both bubbles in the room just before the twisted hallway with light arrows. Enter the hall and exit to reload them. Kill 10 total.

 Bank - Fire (10)
Find 500 Rupees in the Fire Temple in one session [Starts when you get the Giant's Wallet and 00 Rupees]

In the large maze room where there are boulders in non-Master Quest, run around the room and spawn the lizalfos. Slash them once with biggoron sword then kill them with light arrows. There are 4 that spawn in the room, leave and re-enter to respawn them. Kill 10 total.

 Bank - Water (10)
Find 500 Rupees in the Water Temple in one session [Starts when you get the Giant's Wallet and 00 Rupees]
Set the water the the middle, set Farore's Wind after exiting the inner central room, go to the opposite side of the pillar and enter the hallway that you need to press the button to go into (with the skulltula you need Din's Fire for), there are 2 Lizalfos. Slash once with biggoron sword then kill with a light arrow, recall with wind to respawn them. Kill 10 total.

 Bank - Shadow (10)
Find 500 Rupees in the Shadow Temple in one session [Starts when you get the Giant's Wallet and 00 Rupees]
In the room with all the invisible walls, kill the bubble with light arrows on the way to the boss key room. Then kill the 4 keese with light arrows in the boss key room. Repeat once to kill 10 enemies total.

 Bank - Desert (10)
Find 500 Rupees in the Desert Colosus in one session [Starts when you get the Giant's Wallet and 00 Rupees]
Stand in front of the Spirit Temple right here and wait for the guays that infinitely respawn. Shoot them with light arrows. Kill 10 total. Pasted image 20260612111938

 Bank - Woods (10)
Find 500 Rupees in the Lost Woods in one session [Starts when you get the Giant's Wallet and 00 Rupees]

Enter Lost Woods as adult from Kokiri Forest, go left and kill the Skull Kid. Play Sun's Song and repeat 2 more times.

 Bank - City (10)
Find 500 Rupees in the Goron's City in one session [Starts when you get the Giant's Wallet and 00 Rupees]

Enter from Death Mountain. Collect the rupees in all the chests in the boulder maze room, then play Sun's Song and repeatedly collect the red rupee in this pot until you have the achievement.

Pasted image 20260612105510

A quick reminded to collect the rest of your golden skulltulas if you have not yet!

Well done in completing the majority of the achievements in the game, including the dry bank ones. You have one difficult one left, and one that should be a victory lap with all the knowledge and skill you've accumulated up until now. Let's go!

Deathless

This section will cover the following achievements:

Click here to toggle open the table of contents
  1. Child of Hyrule
  2. 3 Star Survivalist

We'll be combining these two achievements here since they go hand in hand. If you complete Child damageless, there's a good chance you can do the rest of the game deathless! Just remember to not collect any hearts and keep these in mind.

Important

There are 2 full game achievements and 1 full game leaderboard. While many skips are legal, each require that you:

  • Collect all 12 songs
  • Collect all 6 medallions
  • Complete all 6 trials at Ganon's Castle
  • DO NOT even collect Nayru's Love

 Child of Hyrule (100)
After starting the game, beat all 3 dungeons with Child Link and reach the Master Sword without getting hit

Child

For the first section we'll do the entire Child section damageless. This completes when you pull the Master Sword. There are 2 routes you can choose between. The first is the one we followed above for individual dungeons:

Forest Escape > Zelda's Lullaby > Saria's Song > Dodongo's Cavern > Magic > Deku Tree > Jabu Jabu > Master Sword

This has the positive that it allows to get magic for Great Deku Tree and Jabu Jabu which is nice, but it contains a lot of potentially dangerous chores. It is possible to do this:

Deku Tree > Jabu Jabu > Dodongo's Cavern > Master Sword

This is the route we'll take here. It cuts out Saria's Song entirely as well as the trip up to magic. We'll also add in only Zelda's Lullaby after Deku Tree so that you don't get locked out of Saria's Song once you become adult, and because it's safe.

Note

The run starts when you first step into Kokiri Forest meaning you can save after the opening cutscene. There is also a pot in Link's house that is visible if you save and quit. You can break this pot for a green rupee every time you save and quit. You'll likely be doing several resets. If you aren't up for another full run, you can grind rupees for a bit and make subsequent attempts a tiny bit quicker.

Pasted image 20260612131927

The only danger in the first part of the game is this boulder before reaching the Kokiri Sword,

Pasted image 20260612132041

And these Deku Babas directly before the Great Deku Tree that spawn right about here.

Pasted image 20260612132246

Realistically, the only way you lose a run to these is if you have fast forward on and are on autopilot. Which has happened to me plenty of times.

Before actually entering Great Deku Tree, try to get at least 10 Deku Nuts and just get the 3 deku sticks from these babas.

Great Deku Tree

Unfortunately Slingshot is required to complete Child, so we need to scale the Great Deku Tree this time.

Go up the ladder to your left at the entrance, then throw a deku nut here to remove the kaizo keese that's waiting for you at the other side of this platform.

Pasted image 20260612132530

Run towards the climbable wall and start climbing it as soon as you can. This avoids the baby gohmas.

Deku nut stun and kill the keese waiting on the torch, then light the torch and enter.

In the slingshot room, stand right here on the second raised platform to throw a deku nut and kill both eggs in the alcove where the chest will be, then turn around 180 degrees to kill all 3 eggs on the other ledge. Finally, if you need to, reraise and jump to the third platform and throw a final deku nut to kill the final egg on the wall.

If you're out of deku nuts, put up your shield and kill the deku baba when it's in a cooldown from its attack animation. As long as it doesn't go stiff, kill it for more deku nuts.

Grab slingshot, then exit the room while mashing your deku nut button to stun the keese that respawned on the torch.

Pasted image 20260612133217

Kill the deku baba next to the jump with your sling and jump down to open the web.

In this room kill the giant deku baba with slingshot, jump up just like you did in the Farore's Son achievement. Stun the business scrub so that it won't bother you, and solve the rest of the floor like you would had you gone all the way around BF1. Kill all the babas with sling.

Finish the dungeon off like you did in the Farore's Son achievement.

Chores

Now head out, get your ocarina, and get Zelda's Lullaby.

You should be able to backwalk straight to Castle Town, but if it becomes night before you make it, stand on the dirt path until morning to prevent skullchildren from spawning.

Pasted image 20260612134149

Return to Lost Woods by going through Kokariko Village and scaling Death Mountain up to Goron City.

On the first path, as long as you stay on the opposite wall of the tektites, none will hit you. Be wary of the one hiding on top of the ledge at the end of the first slope (and the one that I killed to take this screenshot that would have been behind me).

Pasted image 20260612134720

Continue up and wait on this ledge until this rolling goron passes you.

Pasted image 20260612134822

Once inside Goron City, double check to make sure the rolling goron isn't anywhere near you, then jump down 1 level at a time to avoid fall damage.

Pasted image 20260612135008

Get a burning deku stick from Darunia's room and bring it to light the bomb flowers in the Lost Woods tunnel. Keeping it alive by using it on torches.

Enter Lost Woods, them perform any version of forest escape to get to Zora's River, then enter Zora's Domain.

Refill your deku nuts and sticks if you need. Then, get your silver scale, then bottle, then enter Jabu Jabu's Belly.

Make sure not to dive too far to the left, Like can take fall damage if he lands on this:

Jabu Jabu's Belly

This part is the exact same as Nayru's Son with a couple small differences:

  1. Do your best to only use 2 bombchus here, you will need at least 5 for Dodongo's Cavern--the more room for error, the better.
  2. You don't have Din's Fire so you need to solve this room. Store a deku stick jump slash, then shoot a cow on the wall to spawn a like like. Stun it with boomerang, then crouch stab kill it. Repeat on the other cow.
Pasted image 20260612140135
  1. You don't have Farore's Wind, so you'll need to walk back to Ruto. Remember to hug the wall to dodge the lizalfos on the way out, and make sure you fall down the correct hole!
Pasted image 20260612140409

The rest of the dungeon is the exact same.

At this point in full game runs, I would get RBA here with empty bottle on C-Right to get a bottle in the 3rd bottle position, then buy a red potion in Zora Shop to get a bottle in the 4th bottle position so that I wouldn't need to get any more bottles later in the run. Note that if you put a poe in C-Right you can refill your bombchus. DO NOT get RBA with anything else on C-Right or you'll write it over with a bottle and lose that item.

Now that you've killed Barinade and collected the Sapphire, go back through Lost Woods to Goron City and jump from the bomb flower down to Dodongo's Cavern. Just towards the giant rock and roll to not take fall damage.

Pasted image 20260612141357

Take a few steps back and drop a bombchu to open the dungeon.

Dodongo's Cavern

Use a bombchu to open the dungeon's first wall. I like to stand a few steps away and wait for the 6th flash to drop it. Always target shield drop and keep your shield up to avoid any damage.

Walk forward onto the bridge to get the navi text, then drop town and hug this wall to walk over to the ladder on the other side of the ledge.

Pasted image 20260612141612

Don't waste a bombchu on the rock, instead go to the bombable wall and drop another bombchu to open it. Go in and snipe the flying keese, then stand right here and drop a bombchu to destroy the rock.

Pasted image 20260612141749

Also avoid the skulltula while you make your way to the door.

Pasted image 20260612141834

Enter the door, and use deku nuts to stun the baby dodongos.

Start the miniboss and store a deku stick jump slash. You should be able to crouch right in front of where the lizalfos will jump to and crouch stab them as they land on the platform. If you miss, just back up and deku nut stun them before attacking. They'll take 2 hits each to kill.

Pasted image 20260612142040

After you kill the second one, WAIT until the door opens to start moving. I have made Link fall into the lava by losing momentum during the door opening cutscene.

Enter the last room before the bombs and drop a bombchu at about right here after 4-5 flashes. This one is extremely lenient since you just need to blow up any of those bombs:

Pasted image 20260612142159

Collect your bomb bag and complete the rest of the dungeon the same way as Din's Son.

Final section

At this point, don't even risk it. Deku nut the tektites the rest of the way down Death Mountain until you get to Kokariko Village, then go to the castle and collect the Ocarina of Time. Head into the Temple of Time and open the door to the Master Sword. The achievement will pop when Navi sees the sword.

Well done! This was definitely the hardest achievement in the game. After many attempts at full game damageless for the leaderboard, this is the route I ultimately stuck to that I found most consistent by far.

The only thing I would add to the run keeping a full game run in mind is that I would collect magic, Din's Fire, and Farore's Wind before becoming adult since it's just nice to have Din's Fire. I would also Navi Dive into Bottom of the Well for Lens of Truth.

 3 Star Survivalist (100)
Beat the game in one session with 3 Hearts without dying [Fairy in Bottle banned, Nayru's Love too]

Well you just finished Child without even getting hit, now time for a victory lap as Adult! Iron Knuckles, Ganondorf, and Ganon can all kill you in 1 hit. Luckily double defense is not prohibited in this section. In order to get that at the beginning of adult, perform RBA and catch a fish on B with adult pocket cuckoo on C-Right. This will give you black gauntlets that work like golden gauntlets. You'll be able to get double defense right away! It also grants you adult's wallet for biggoron knife.

This combined with your knowledge of all the damageless routes through the dungeons should make this a walk in the park for you! Good luck in finishing the game! Once you finish the dungeons do a final checklist to make sure you have:

  • All 6 medallions
  • All 12 songs
  • Ganon's Castle Trials completed.

The indicator will appear when you've collected the boss key for Ganon's Castle. Good luck! You're almost there!

Here are a few more tips from what I learned doing the damageless run for the leaderboards.

If you continue in the trading sequence, catching a fish on B with Cojiro in C-Right will give you biggest bomb bag, and catching bugs with poachers knife on C-Right will give you Nocturn, Serenade, and Prelude! (it will also delete Saria's Song and Sun's Song, which is part of why we didn't grab those earlier). That means you can get early hover boots, making Fire Temple even easier, and you don't need to do Ice Cavern to get all the songs!

I would then run the dungeons in this order: Forest Temple Water Temple Shadow Temple Fire Temple Spirit Temple

Which I felt like gave me the best chance for success. The only differences in the guides above are that I would go all the way to get bow in Forest Temple using the first two tricks on this page.

I would need to clip into Lakeside Laboratory to get into Water Temple, then use a bomb push spell dive in Water Temple to get to the longshot. (Note that the page does not mention it, but shows it in the video: backflip dropping the bomb is required for that trick to work). I would then jump to the longshot room from the top. If I missed this trick I would Wind back to the entrance, drop down to the middle floor, set the water to the middle level, spell dive again, and collect longshot that way.

I would use hover boots in Fire Temple instead of a megaflip or the wall jump.

I would hookshot into the ceiling, using the intended route in Spirit Temple because I had black gauntlets.

After all that I would collect all the songs I skipped, do trials, then kill ganon.

Congratulations!!! You've completed one of the most difficult Zelda subsets. I hope you had as much fun learning and running this set as I did. Display your badge proudly, you earned it!
