RA Roulette 2026 Evergreen Guide - RetroAchievements/guides GitHub Wiki

Welcome to the RA Roulette 2026 Evergreen Guide. As the event is currently ongoing, this is a work in progress until the event concludes in January 2027.

Below are mostly compiled from various users of the RetroAchievements Discord server.

It is highly recommended to do CTRL+F (or CMD+F) to find the achievement you need help with. These should be in display order as well. Maybe!

Heavenly Trial from Jackie Chan's Action Kung Fu (NES)
Visit the cloud-jumping special stage

Estimated Time: < 5 minutes | Difficulty: Easy

This is a secret section right at the beginning.

Rajah from Shaq-Fu (SNES)
Finish Duel mode as Rajah on Easy

Estimated Time: Long | Difficulty: Normal/Hard

Thankfully you only need to play on Easy! Make sure you set it to Easy as well. Here's some various tips provided from players:

  • ArtikSkarab: Holding towards your opponent and mashing A should allow you to stunlock most of your fights, especially the later rounds one.
  • Olafur: A small addition to that, pay a little extra attention to the mummy, because he can teleport behind you.
  • Jabbawocky: Also if you're using a jump kick strategy, the Mummy also has an air attack that counters your own and damages you quite badly. Try to keep the fight on the ground.
  • Ghosty: Set the difficulty to Easy and the round time limit to 10 seconds in the settings before you start. All you need is more damage on them than you when the timer runs out.
  • ChrisBGR: I found it pretty easy to win by KO with: Jump kick (light kick with B, or heavy kick with A didn't seem to make a huge difference), Crouching kick until the enemy is out of range, repeat. This worked even against the final boss (Mummy), but I had to be mindful of dodging his attacks. Rajah's attacks come out pretty quick, so you should be pressing kick immediately after your jump. For all non-mummy enemies, this will damage the enemy at least as much as you get hurt if you both jump kick, and they won't do this every time. With the mummy, I found that he doesn't use his jump attack that frequently (at least on Easy).

Kudos from ~Homebrew~ Wordyl (GB)
Guess the word on the third try

Estimated Time: < 5 minutes | Difficulty: Easy

You just need to play Wordle and get the answer on the third try. Simple!

Tip from Frenchy70: A consistent method for getting the word GAMUT as your correct word. Put turbo (settings: half period, turbo period 6 frames) on start and hold it down while resetting and you should get GAMUT as your word. This is due to the word being generated by the frame you enter the game on the title screen from start up.

Fisherman from Rainy Day Games (A2)

Welcome to the Polar Express from ~Homebrew~ Cave Story (PSP)
Max out the experience points for the Polar Star.

Lido-Deck Dash Box Destroyer from Wall-E (PS2)
Destroy all the boxes in "Lido-Deck Dash" with no cheats enabled

Estimated Time: 4-6 hours | Difficulty: 3/10

This one requires beating the entire game, which will unlock a bonus stage at the very end. In that stage, use Eve to destroy every box.

You can skip all the boxes and artifacts in the rest of the game, even if you want to 100% it, as you can always re-play the level. But, if you want to rush through to get to the end, you can just play normally.

Tip from foiebump: If you wanna hurry things along a little, the fastest way through most of the levels is to go in and out of your box form repeatedly as it gives you alot of speed.

Artwork 9 - Sponge Van Gogh from SpongeBob SquarePants: Lights, Camera, Pants! (PS2)
Get 120 or more points in Mother of Pearl (Bronze)

Estimated Time: 2-3 hours | Difficulty: 4/10 | Missable

The mini game in this achievement is unlocked in the game's "audition mode" after beating the bronze story campaign. Make sure not to progress onto the silver story campaign, as doing so will make the cheevo unavailable.

This game is not the most complex in the world, and you do not even have to win the minigames to beat the campaign, but there is a way to speed things up.

The AFK method:

  • Set the AI to the hardest (smart) difficulty (I do not know if player difficulty alters anything, so set that to the highest difficulty as well).
  • Fast forward through the minigames, and with little to no further input, let the AI win.
  • At least one character needs to cross the given score threshold to progress the story (~12,000 points over three minigames).
  • If the AI with the most points is on the 2 player game on your side, restart the game until they are no longer your teammate.
  • For the soccer game in particular: make sure to score your own goals, as the AI struggles to enough goals to meet the point requirements.

Some other things to note:

  • There has been several accounts of this game crashing frequently. This is usually after the game has saved, so thankfully no progress has been undone, but it could be an annoyance.
  • As SnowWolf pointed out, there were flashing lights observed within one of Mrs. Puff's levels. Please be aware if you are sensitive to flashing lights.

Rock the Boat from ~Hack~ Final Fantasy ++ (NES)
Obtain the Canoe

Estimated Time: 2-4 hours | Difficulty: 5/10

This achievement is story progression based, so it may be easier or harder depending on how much Final Fantasy 1 knowledge is present coming in. While the hack is mostly similar to retail FF1, there are a few notable differences in class, equipment, etc that are catalogued in the hack's supplemental material.

For this guide, the party members consisted of three moogles (which replace the original game's monks) and a fighter, although different combinations may be faster.

A step by step guide for this achievement was provided by Olafur:

  1. Go into town, suit up, then head northwest and kill Garland
  2. Talk to king to open bridge, then head towards the next town.
  3. Suit up, kill the pirates to get boat.
  4. Sail south, head to Marsh Cave in the southwest to find the Crown [Level ~8].
  5. Head to castle north of the cave and kill Astos to get Eye.
  6. Go to the place located northeast of the starting town, give Eye to get Herb.
  7. Go to castle south of the starting town, talk to the NPC next to the sleeping prince. Then, talk to sleeping prince to get Magic Key.
  8. Go to the starting castle, find the door with six chests. Open the leftmost one to get T.N.T.
  9. Sail west and enter the Mount Duergar. Talk to the southernmost one to open the rest of the sea and the ability to lazy level grind. Pack a bunch of sleeping bags if you want to grind a bunch while doing as little as possible [Level ~16].
  10. When ready, go to the Earth Cave, get to the bottom and purify the first crystal.
  11. Finally, head to the southeastern most town, talk to the wizards on the right side and you should get the canoe.

Drunken Brawling from Fatal Fury F-Contact (NGP)
Beat the game using only Joe on default settings.

Estimated Time: 5-10 minutes | Difficulty: 1/10

A tip from WanderingHeiho makes this cheevo trivial. Simply set your turbo button to A (with a period of 3 and cycle half period) and mash/hold forward. The AI can do little to fight back, and soon enough, the cheevo is yours.

Raceway Rampage from Shin Combat Choro Q (PS2)
Achieve victory in every Bacherit arena

Estimated Time: ~1 hour | Difficulty: 3/10

The Bacherit area is unlocked fairly early on in the story mode, so generally follow a walkthrough up until unlocking the area. Some of the biggest takeaways is to buy a CPU 2 as well as strong armor early on, as well as the single missile for the boss fight in Naldnick. Keep in mind you have to equip the items in the garage (as well as save your game). Also, you can press the select button to skip cutscenes.

Out of the starting tanks, Olafur and others reccomend the PzKpfw II Aust.C.

For the arena missions, Verros reccomended to use the MachCharge Engine and 16-Missile Sub Weapon B. With these items equipped, the expert racing arena as well as the battle arena are pretty simple.

Birthright from Wolverine: Adamantium Rage (SNES)
Make your way through the Hand HQ and defeat Lady Deathstrike

25k from Zippy Race (NES)
Get 25.000 points!

Estimated Time: 0.5-2 hours | Difficulty: 5/10

In this game, you progress through the different races when you have enough fuel, with the placements largely being end of level point bonuses. Every time you crash, you're going to lose a chunk of fuel. As such, it is crucial to pick up fuel canisters (the blue barrels) as well as avoid crashing (generally two was the maximum amount of crashes that would have enough fuel to continue).

The achievement is usually unlocked either the second or third stage. This game's stages are the same every time, so remember the path to maximize your fuel efficiency. On stage 1, the fuel cans are all towards the right, while stage 2's fuel alternates between left and right, etc.

For the end of level sections with the lower perspective, allow the cars to approach close enough before swerving away. Accelerating may help with this timing.

A crucial strategy that Olafur point out was to exploit car passing mechanics. Whenever you pass a car in front of you, you gain 500 points, yet you do not lose any points by falling behind. Thus, repeatedly slowing down to drop a position only to speed back up to pass the vehicle once more can easily rack up some points. This could be done with two cars, but is only recommended at the start of stage 1 as the two cars are side by side with one another, other wise, just do this with one other car. For the first part of the stage 1, the left side of the track is the most clear, so you want to be at the left edge as you repeatedly pass the vehicle. The most optimal timing was to stop pressing A as soon as the position increased, then start holding A once again when the speedometer reads somewhere in the 70s, and repeat.

Here are some movement tips from MegaDriveCD32x which may help:

Gas (A) = full speed Brake (B) = slows you down (never fully stops) Hold both A + B = perfect middle speed holding both buttons makes your speed exactly the same as the opposing cars. You can cruise through curves while sandwiched between two of them with zero trouble. Speed up behind a car, then instantly slam both buttons right before you reach it. Your speed matches theirs immediately, the other car loses all horizontal movement (it stops turning completely), and you can just swerve around and pass on either side. I used to try getting super close to freeze their turning, but the timing was always off — let off the gas even a little and they’d start turning again. Slamming both buttons solves that instantly by locking your speed to theirs.
