We have a handful of challenges remaining, none of them quite as difficult and time consuming as what you've just gone through. Take a breather and knock out these odd challenges.
The Ultimate Reward! (1) Obtain your reward in the Gallery after defeating Mewtwo in Round 2 of VS Mewtwo
Well done! You've completed Round 2 in its entirety and with rentals no less!!!! This is no small feat! Give yourself a pat on the back, feel proud, and head over to Gallery mode. On the main screen, press and hold L and R and scroll down to Print, the text will change to "Bonus". Press A on this to get your reward :)
Take Me With You! (1) Transfer one of Professor Oak's prize Pokémon to Pokémon Red, Blue, or YellowNot only do you get that neat reward above, but you will have gotten 2 prize Pokemon... Well I guess just 1 now since they both can't exist together. Head on over to the Pojemon Lab and transfer the Pokemon you earned from beating the Champion to your linked game. Once you save, this achievement will pop.
Bring Your Pokémon to Work Day (1) Win a battle in Stadium or Gym Leader Castle mode using only Pokémon transferred from Pokémon Red, Blue, or Yellow
Raised Him Myself (2) Register Mewtwo into the Hall of Fame
What's a Lapras to a Pikachu? (50) Teach Surf to a Pikachu after winning the Prime Cup - Master Ball in Round 2 of Stadium mode in one session, using only non-registered or non-Rental Pokémon, and using a Pikachu in the final battle
You may have already gotten a couple of these ones, but just in case you decided to be a giga-gamer and do everything with rentals only (wow!) we can knock out these 3 achievements in 1 go.
Head over to Round 2 Prime Cup - Master Ball and select Mewtwo, Pikachu, and 4 other Pokemon from your Gameboy save
Warning
All 6 Pokemon need to be from your Gameboy save for this, including the Pikachu!
Also the team CANNOT be registered--the game considers that rentals.
With Mewtwo in the lead this will be an absolute breeze. Throughout the tournament be sure to never save and quit and use Pikachu in the final battle! The Pikachu does not need to see any action, it just needs to be one of the 3 Pokemon selected.
After teaching Pikachu Surf you'll get your achievements.
Teamwork Makes the Dream Work (10) Win a Cup in Stadium mode using only Rental Pokémon and without letting any faint
If you did the entire game with rentals only, there is a pretty good chance this happened during Round 1 Prime Cup or Poke Cup Pokeball. Refer to the guide for that section here, Battles 3 and 5 may troll you, just take your time, be safe, and you will get it.
Alternatively, Viktorovski left a comment on the achievement with a video he uploaded completing the achievement in Petit Cup.
The Struggle Is Real (2) Have an opponent's Pokémon faint itself with Struggle during a battle in Stadium or Gym Leader Castle modeThis is a very easy one to get, but may take a few tries for the opponent to select the Pokemon you want them to.
You have 2 main options here:
- Round 1 Cerulean Gym, get the Magikarp in the first battle.
- Your team should have 2 ghost types.
- KO the first 2 Pokemon, then when Magikarp is sent out, swap between your ghost types over and over until it is out of PP and struggles itself to death.
- Round 1 or 2 Petit Cup, get Ditto in the second battle.
- When Ditto comes in, send in your own Ditto.
- Continue using transform until you are both out of PP and struggling.
- Swap between your other Pokemon until it eventually struggles itself to death.
House Advantage (5) Lose a battle in Stadium or Gym Leader Castle mode after fainting all of the opponent's PokémonAgain, go to Petit Cup with Geodude and Shellder on your team. In the 3rd battle, your opponent will self-destruct his first 2 Pokemon, on the last one, do a small amount of damage with Geodude, then self-destruct to finish it off.
A Respectable Start (10) Register 50 Pokémon in the Hall of Fame
Most of the Way There (25) Register 100 Pokémon in the Hall of Fame
It's All a Blur (50) Receive an Amnesia Psyduck by registering all 151 Pokémon in the Hall of Fame
These ones will take a minute to complete. All of your Gameboy Pokemon here are legal, and you can use Gemeboy Pokemon mixed with rentals.
Head over to Prime Cup Masterball Round 1, select your Mewtwo and 5 others that are not in the Hall of Fame yet, then shred the tournament with your Mewtwo. If you do not have a Mew in your Gameboy save, you will need to rent one in Round 2. Luckily, Mewtwo shreds that cup as well!
Making a list of all the Pokemon currently in the Hall of Fame and updating it as you go will be useful for this. Good luck!

We're finally done with the battling and into the party games :)
A note before we start this section. gde, the author of this set stated that the point of these achievements was to turn these silly party games into a challenge and make players actually get good at them. He more than succeeded in this. At first the challenges will feel RNG based, but by the end you will realize that you can consistently win in all of them with close to the achievement restrictions every time.
Get your turbo button ready, and let's hop in. We'll start with the individual game challenges first.
Fish Out of Water (5) Win a game of "Magikarp's Splash" in Kids Club mode against 3 COMs on Hard difficulty with a score of at least 30 points and without pausing [1P]
Note
Remember to set the CPUs to hard before starting!
In the game introduction you'll see that it says if you press A immediately before hitting the ground you'll get a speed jump. This is required for the full 20 seconds of the minigame with about 1 miss of wiggle room. If you get 30, you will win every time. Remember, the timing for your first quick hop and subsequent quick hops will be different--this is the key to getting this achievement. Once you get in the rhythm for chaining the quick hops you'll get it! Consistency is key!
Do not get discouraged if you can't get more than 26 or 28--that is the wall you are trying to overcome. It will happen. I found this achievement to be the 2nd hardest out of all the minigames.
In the achievement comments Jedgesaurus posted a video with where they press A as Magikarp is falling.
Honor Student (5) Win a game of "Clefairy Says" in Kids Club mode against 3 COMs on Hard difficulty without making any mistakes and without pausing [1P]
Note
Remember to set the CPUs to hard before starting!
You will notice that this achievement does not have any complaining comments on it :) That means this is not a difficult one to pull off. Each sequence builds on one another, so the beginning commands will carry over for the entirty of the round.
If you can write notes quickly, you should have plenty of time to write down the sequence on a piece of paper. I personally associate each direction with a tone and hum that tone while I memorize it (Zelda things). Your biggest enemy will be a sliding D-Pad. If you can't trust your D-Pad to work for you, consider remapping other buttons as your D-Pad directions for the duration of this minigame.
You'll get it! Keep it up and it will come!
Rat Race (2) Win a game of "Run, Rattata, Run" in Kids Club mode against 3 COMs on Hard difficulty without hitting any hurdles and without pausing [1P]
Note
Remember to set the CPUs to hard before starting!
This one is fairly easy thanks to turbo--that solves a whole issue that now you don't need to worry about. Hold down Turbo A and press up on your D-Pad whenever a hurdle spawns and gets onto flat ground. I jump when the hurdle gets about right here--between my reaction time and input delay just pressing up as soon as it gets onto flat ground works well for me:
Some spawns can be pretty unforgiving, especially if there are several in a row. You should get a generous spread fairly quickly though, just keep trying and focus on getting the jump timing down. As long as you don't miss any hurdles, turbo A will give you enough speed for victory every time.
Hypnotherapy (10) Win a game of "Snore War" in Kids Club mode against 3 COMs on Hard difficulty without missing Hypnosis more than 5 times and without pausing [1P]
Note
Remember to set the CPUs to hard before starting!
This is another difficult one to learn but there is a method to the madness. Many comments suggest turning the music off since it can be distracting.
The beginning is easy enough, just press A once the pendulum turns white. Eventually it starts speeding up and you'll realize you are missing several (the Z's start appearing). When it's going extremely fast you're going to want to press A as it starts swinging the opposite direction, about here in this area:
Just like the Ratatta race, between input lag and reaction timing, this seems to work best to hit the small window, even if it doesn't seem like it should be. You'll notice you are not seeing Z's--keep this rhythm! As long as none of the CPUs are absolutely locked in, you should win fairly soon after it gets very quick.
Lightning Fast (5) Win a game of "Thundering Dynamo" in Kids Club mode against 3 COMs on Hard difficulty within 8 seconds and without pausing [1P]
Note
Remember to set the CPUs to hard before starting!
Get your turbo A and turbo B ready. This minigame is about anticipating when the light will change. It may take a few tries, but as long as you are changing the button you are pressing quick enough after the light changes, you'll get this one very quick. Good luck!
No Chopsticks Required (10) Win a game of "Sushi-Go-Round" in Kids Club mode against 3 COMs on Hard difficulty with a score of at least 12,000 Pokémon Dollars and without pausing [1P]
Note
Remember to set the CPUs to hard before starting!
I found this one to be the most RNG based achievement in the minigames. You can win with anything in the top row, eating the same item multiple times in a row gives you a mutliplier up to 5x that persists as long as the streak continues.
The strategy for this one is simple--chose anything from the top row and stick to it. No matter what. If you are changing what you're going for each round, this is going to be a much longer process than it needs to be (believe me, I made that mistake). Most of the time, your item will not spawn enough times to get the 12,000 score, but when it does, you want to be going for it.
At the beginning of the round, before your item shows up, eat random items (except the green tea, the burns you). Generally trying to stay in a streak to gain as many points as you can before you start your real streak.
If you choose Tobiko (1000) you will need 5 in a row, or 4 + 2000.
If you choose Salmon(?) Nigiri (600) you will need 6 in a row, or 5 + 3000.
If you choose Shrimp Nigiri (350) you will need 9 in a row, or 8 + 1500.
If you choose Masago (250) you will need 12 in a row, or 11 + 750.
Whichever you choose, stick with it between rounds. If enough do not spawn, just try again with the same item and it will eventually spawn enough for you to get 12,000. I swear, the number of times I changed items between rounds, then the item I chose the previous round was abundent in the next round is crazy--I should have learned my lesson. Learn from my mistakes, and good luck!!!
Shoot Some Hoops (10) Win a game of "Ekans' Hoop Hurl" in Kids Club mode against 3 COMs on Hard difficulty with a score of at least 15 points and without pausing [1P]
Note
Remember to set the CPUs to hard before starting!
This is a pretty difficult one to get good at throwing the Ekans. Comments suggest to set the Analog Sensitivity to 70% in the Retroarch quick menu > Core Options > Pak/Controller Options.
This will make it so that pulling all the way back on the control stick will let you get the middle Digletts every time. Instead, you will be unable to hit the Digletts in the back row. The CPUs seem to have trouble hitting the middle Digletts, giving you a huge advantage. Not only that, but it's also much easier to hit the Digletts in the front row since you are allowed to pull back a bit further on your control stick. If you get very bad RNG a lot will spawn in the back row, but generally this setting works very well to get points while the CPUs focus on the back.
You will still need to get good at aiming the Ekans in the right area to hit each individual column, but once you get those angles down, this should come pretty quick.
Tough It Out (10) Win a game of "Rock Harden" in Kids Club mode against 3 COMs on Hard difficulty with at least 50% health remaining and without pausing [1P]
Note
Remember to set the CPUs to hard before starting!
This is by far the hardest minigame to get in terms of pure performance. Despite the complaints in the comments, this is way more skill than RNG. Keeping an eye on the score indicator in the corner, your goal should be to use an average of 4 HP per harden. This takes learning the timing for 3 different rock throws--low, mid, and high.
Turn your sound up as it will help for rocks that are thrown in sequence--you block the first one, then tap A on the same beat as when the rocks were thrown, they will always be the same height.
You should watch the shadows of the rocks as they fly towards you, you will want to wait until the shadow is about halfway overlapped with yours, then tap A just long enough to block the rock.
This is very much about just learning the timings for blocking based on how fast the shadow is moving towards you. Once you got it, you got it, but it takes practice to get it down. This is the main thing you should focus on.
You may get lucky and get the achievement early if you have 3 CPUs that do very poorly, which will even give you wiggle room to miss once or even twice. But most of the time at least 1 CPU will lock in and leave you with just under half HP by the time it faints. Your goal is basically to get good enough to beat the CPUs even if they all lock in. Do not give up, it is possible, you are good enough to do this!
Water at the End of the Tunnel (3) Win a game of "Dig! Dig! Dig!" in Kids Club mode against 3 COMs on Hard difficulty within 6.5 seconds and without pausing [1P]
Note
Remember to set the CPUs to hard before starting!
Finally another easy one. Get turbo L and turbo R ready, then press them one after another so that they are firing offset from each other. Start the match and win :)
If you cannot use turbo on those buttons, many comments suggest using a keyboard instead of a controller as it's a bit easier to alternate presses with a single hand rather than coordinating two hands together. It's a pretty tight time using this method, but you can do it!
COM Sweep (10) Become the Champ of "Who's the Best?" in Kids Club mode by earning 9 wins against 3 COMs on Normal difficulty without losing [1P]
After completing all the individual games, this should be easy. But I actually think this is the most difficult of the Who's the Best achievements. Simply because you could accidentally lose if the Sushi-Go-Round gets selected. All the other games should be no problem for you to win, but I failed this a few times because of that game specifically.
Luckily, it's only a 1/9 chance to get that game and not a guaranteed loss regardless! So this should only be a few tries in spite of that minigame. Good luck!
Go Hard or Go Home (10) Become the Champ of "Who's the Best?" in Kids Club mode by earning 9 wins against 3 COMs on Hard difficulty without letting them accumulate more than 9 wins [1P]
You should be able to get this one first try after completing the achievements above. You are good enough at the minigames now to consistently win them, and you are allowed to lose 9 times total, that's a huge amount! As long as you keep a more than 50% win rate, you'll get this achievement easy.
Hyperactive COMs (5) Unlock Hyper difficulty in Kids Club mode by earning 5 consecutive wins or ties in "Who's the Best?" against 3 COMs on Hard difficulty [1P]Another easy one to do, in fact you may have gotten it during the previous achievement. If you didn't don't worry--there is a setup that makes it even easier. Allow the CPUs to win over and over until they each have 5-6 wins and you have 0 wins. Then select whichever minigame you found the easiest (for me it was Dig! Dig! Dig!) 5 times in a row. Since you get to chose the game each time due to being in last, you'll get your most confident game every time.
I Swear, They're Cheating (25) Become the Champ of "Who's the Best?" in Kids Club mode by earning 9 wins against 3 COMs on Hyper difficulty [1P]Again, I did not find this as difficult as the lossless Normal mode. By this point you really will be very good at all the minigames, and all you need to do is win a round of Who's the Best against the Hyper level opponents, they can have 8 wins each and you can still earn this achievement. Don't get discouraged at any losses you take, and keep playing for wins, you should be able to get it! I found I would almost always get a win during Magikarp's Splash, Clefairy Says, Run, Rattata, Run, Rock Harden, and Dig! Dig! Dig!. With occasional wins and losses in Snore War and Thundering Dynamo. I wouldn't even try on Sushi-Go-Round and Ekans' Hoop Hurl.
If you fail this, don't feel bad, you just got an unlucky spread of minigames. Try again and you'll get it eventually when your confident games get picked! Good luck!!
