Set released on 29 September 2025
Even on the easiest difficulty, there will be challenging questions that will stump even the most dedicated pro football fans. That's why the most consistent way to make sure you have as much control over the game, is to use the Q&A spreadsheet that was extracted from the game's files. Huge shoutout to Mindhral for even thinking to do so, decoding and extracting the data into a spreadsheet that's linked above. Before, me and other unwanted event participants had compiled a spreadsheet manually of 1200 of the 1500 questions that the game advertised. The extracted internal questions and answers are in the extracted tab and the previous manual data is in the other tabs and have confirmed they line up.
Important
Due to the game being from 1994 and of a poor quality, a good portion of the questions have inaccurate or straight up incorrect answers to it's questions along with variations to the same question.
To control both teams, go in the input tab in the emulator and change port 1 and 2 to take input from the same controller
There's only 2 progression achievements and they're both win conditions. To guarantee the AFC one, click on the helmet on the main menu before starting the game, click the AFC button in the bottom right, and then select a team once it loads in. Repeat for the second team. For the the NFC one, do the same thing but no need to switch tabs as it's the default one.
Now here's how to get the beat in 10 minutes or less:
- Score with one of the teams on the easiest difficulty, rookie.
- Position the cursor over the black and white light bulb button
- Turn on Fast Forward
- Click on the black and white light bulb button anytime the clock stops
- Boom, you'll get the win condition and the beat when the 4th quarter ends and while you're loading back to the options screen
Min Playthroughs 4 Mastery Route
- Whynot has also written a min playthoughs route for mastery that i'll include here: (Note: What difficulty you pick for each specific game doesnβt really matter, just as long as you pick a different one for each game. You can also do the games in any order, but it might get slightly confusing remembering what achievements youβre going to go for when)
Game 1 Cowboys - Bills (rookie) Bills: Score a TD as quickly as you can (18-19 seconds remaining on the play clock) on the first Bills possession Cowboys: score a TD the same way. Bills: Answer as quick as you can again, but only until you cross the 35 yard line. Then answers correctly with 2 seconds remaining on the play clock, then kick a field goal. Cowboys: Score a TD Bills: Score a field goal - Bills are now done scoring Cowboys: Score a TD Bills: Answer 3 questions correctly with 2 second on the clock, then go for it on 4th down and answer again with 2 seconds to turn the ball over. Cowboys: Get within the 35 yard line (you should already be there). Answer 3 questions correctly with 2 second on the clock, then choose to kick a field goal and make it. Bills: Turnover again with 4 correct answers Cowboys: quick field goal with 3 low time correct answers Bills: Turnover with 4 correct answers Cowboys: final field goal with 3 low time correct answers Remainder of the game: slow/low time correct answers to constantly turn the ball over and prevent any further scoring without any wrong answers. Curious Competitors Historical Accuracy NFC win Score Touchdown Score field goal Bulldozer Quick on the Draw One of: use a timeout and get a right answer or donβt use any timeouts (I recommend donβt use any timeouts)
Game 2 Oilers - Washington (Vet) Call a timeout on the first question and answer correctly to get that out of the way (if you already got the timeout question, just donβt call a timeout all game to get the opposite achievement) Answer quickly to score 2 touchdowns with each team. Once itβs tied at 14, run the clock down to 2 seconds before answering so neither team makes a first down. Always go for it on 4th down, just donβt convert. Take the game to overtime tied at 14. In OT, answer quickly to get within the 35 yard line, then answer with only 2 seconds remaining to get to 4th down. On 4th down, kick the field goal to win. If you win with the Oilers, it will get you the AFC win, but it doesnβt really matter. Scholary Sportsman AFC win (if you win with the Oilers) Name Changers Clock Management Sudden Death! A winβs a win
Game 3 Any two AFC teams on Pro (If you won with the Oilers last game, teams do not matter) Answer quickly to get the game over with. Try not to take the game into OT to make things a little quicker and leave less room to make a mistake. AFC win (if you missed in game 2) Just call me John Madden

When a question starts, press the timeout button on the bottom left, and guess the correct answer for the achievement. |
|
As soon as the question appears, pause the emulator, search the sheet for the question, press on the black and white question button to have the answers appear faster and then select the right answer. |
|
Get to and within the opponent's 35 yard line, fast forward to guarantee 3 wrong answers, turn off fast forward right as you're about to run out of time on the third question, and a field goal |
|
Every possession has you have at least 4 chances to gain 10 yards for a first down. You can get some questions wrong, as you won't lose yardage doing so, but answering questions fast enough will always get you a first down and major yardage down the field. Do that enough times you'll score a touchdown and earn the achievement. |
|
You start on your 20 yard line when you start a game, come back from halftime, or score due to you controlling both teams. So all you need to do is score a touchdown without getting a question wrong a drive when that happens. |
|
Have both teams have the same score at the end of the 4th quarter. The easiest way to do so is to do the same strategy that I described in the progression section, but don't score with either team. |
|
Do the same strategy that I described in the progression section, but don't touch the timeout button in the bottom left. |
|
Same strategy as described in the Between the Uprights! achievement, but in overtime. |
|
On the options screen, change the teams to the Houston Oilers (AFC tab - the 2nd team, 3rd row) and the Washington Redskins (NFC tab - the 2nd team, 1st row). Score 3 touchdowns combined between both teams and use the fast forward strategy described in the progression achievements.
|
|
You only need to recreate the final score from the end of the game from Super Bowl XXVIII. That being Dallas Cowboys 30 - Buffalo Bills 13. The Bills are the fifth team in the second row, in the AFC tab. The Cowboys are the 4th team in the second row, in the NFC tab. An important strategy used for this challenge, is the quick answers due to the fact that you only have 60 plays to recreate the score. You employ the same strategy as the one I've described in the No Two-Point Conversions Allowed achievement. Try to answer questions as quickly as possible so you gain as much yardage to score as quick and have some margin of error if you do get a question wrong when you didn't want to. Here was my route when recreating the score: - Score the touchdowns first, as field goals require you to waste 3 plays to get to the field goal option to appear (unless it's under 30 seconds to the end of the 2nd quarter, or 4th quarter) - For the Bills, you need to score 1 touchdown and 2 field goals - For the Cowboys, you need to score 3 touchdowns and 3 field goals - Once you've scored the 13 points for the Bills, fast forward on every posession with them to turn the ball over to the cowboys within the 35 yard line - Fast forward and run out of time on 3 questions with the Cowboys, turn off fast forward right as you're about to run out of time on the third question so you don't miss the field goal option, as it'll go run a play on 4th down after enough time has passed without you clicking on anything - Once you have the final score, fast forward and the achievement will unlock while you're loading back to the select screen

This is where it's make or break for mastery. 60 minutes, 60 questions, no mistakes. All 3 difficulties. The Q&A sheet is required to get these, and easily took me the longest time due to the amount of straight up wrong or inaccurate answers the game considered as correct.
Take your time, pause the emulator, CTRL+F on the sheet for the question, and select the right answer. This is the only way you can get through these playthroughs. Due to the game batching questions into sets of atleast 5, so the questions with incorrect answers will be guarenteed at some point during every playthrough.
