HUNT-RELATED & MISC. MISSABLES
These are not tied to the story itself, but are either missable or difficult to find in their own ways. You can go at your own pace with obtaining these without regard to level or character restrictions. There is one level-restricted achievement involving Balthier fighting solo, but it is level 60, so it shouldn’t be an issue as long as you’re aware of it. This section isn't as long as the story-related missables, but there are some important things you will need to brush up on.
F.I.N.A.L. F.A.N.T.A.S.Y. (100)
Obtain one of each of the new Zodiac letter weapons (must have at least 1 of each in your inventory)
You won’t be getting this one anytime soon, but I’ve placed it here as a heads up warning. The weapons themselves are not missable, albeit quite out of the way to acquire them. If you wind up selling any of them, you have lost out. Most are made in the Bazaar, while a couple are acquired as rare drops. The achievement will pop when you have all of them in your inventory, so just don’t sell any and you should be okay. If you’re familiar with the nonsense involved with the Zodiac Spear in vanilla FF12, that mechanic has been removed for IZJS. I’ll quote the Final Fantasy Wiki:
“It is found as a treasure in the Henne Mines' Special Charter Shaft. The chest spawns 1% of the time, but once it does, it will always contain the spear. The chest also respawns.
“The spear is also available from the Hunt Club sidequest. If the player gives ten trophies (obtained by defeating Rare Game) to each bangaa brother, they can buy the Zodiac Spear alongside the Zodiac Escutcheon for 999,999 gil from the Shifty-Eyed Merchant's store nearby. The player can also get the spear for free as a reward for giving Atak 16 trophies.
It is also a rare steal from Biding Mantis in Trial Mode Stage 62.”
The user RyStyr has made a handy document on how to acquire all of the Zodiac weapons. Please refer to it or other guides for further details.
From personal experience, the absolute hardest weapons to acquire were Dragon Whisker L and Shikari Nagasa F. The latter is especially horrible since it involves killing 256 enemies in the Great Crystal, then re-zoning back and forth through an area 100 times just for a chance to get the monster to spawn, and that's not even going into having to do that each time for another chance due to the absurdly low drop chance.
Finish Belito hunt with only Balthier (No Guest, No HP to 0, LVL <= 60, No Seitengrat equipped)
Our old friends Ba’Gamnan and his cronies are back, and they’re not in a good mood after being outwitted during the story. Depending on what class you gave Balthier, this may be very easy or very difficult. Note that while Seitengrat is banned, summons and Quickenings are not. If you’ve been following along with the story-related missables, you will likely have developed some strategies for your Balthier’s class to handle such a large group of enemies.

Obtain a Zodiac Spear from favoring Atak/Zodiac Escutcheon from favoring Blok/Ribbon from favoring Stok in Hunt Club respectively
None of these are marked as missable, but they potentially are. These refer to turning in the 30 trophies from rare hunts to the three Bangaa shopkeepers in Phon Coast, who open up more items in their respective shops the more you favor them. The rewards from the Bangaa are unique items that you can purchase in their shop, but you cannot unlock every item since there are only 30 trophies to collect and more shop items available than that. Thus, make a backup save before turning in the trophies.
Steal a Mirage Vest
This is stolen from two one-time rare hunts - either Dheed in Mosphoran Highwaste, or Disma in Site 5 and Site 6 of the Lhusu Mines as part of the Hunt Club sidequest. Once both of these monsters are dead, you will not be able to steal a Mirage Vest anywhere else.
Steal a Glimmering Robes
Similar to the Mirage Vest, the Glimmering Robes can only be stolen from the Crystal Knight, a one-time rare hunt seen in the Great Crystal as part of the Hunt Club sidequest.
Steal all Genji equipment from Gilgamesh in one session
After the story events in Draklor Laboratory are complete, you can speak to Montblanc to take on an Elite Mark called “Clash on the Big Bridge” in Lhusu Mines. Gilgamesh is fought twice, with the first encounter yielding the Genji Shield and Genji Gloves for stealing. For the second encounter, you need to wait for 60% of his HP to deplete before he takes out his Tournesol replica, allowing you to steal the Genji Helm. You need to be quick during this part because at 70% of his HP depleted, he will erect a paling, protecting him from all attacks for a short time. Turn off your attackers’ Gambits and wait until the stealing is successful before continuing. Once the paling wears off, the Genji Armor can finally be stolen from Gilgamesh.
Steal a Megalixir from and then defeat Ultima
Ultima is a boss found in the Great Crystal of Giruvegan after acquiring the Treaty Blade. You need to explore further into the Great Crystal to find Ultima. Once you’re there, she has a pool of three items that can be stolen. Without the Thief’s Cuffs, the likelihoods are the Virgo Gem at 55%, Elixir at 10%, and Megalixir at 3%. With the Thief’s Cuffs, the odds are the Virgo Gem at 80%, Elixir at 30%, and Megalixir at 6%. You will likely need to attempt this fight multiple times until you get the correct steal.
Steal a Trango Tower from and then defeat Zodiark
After acquiring ten Espers and speaking to Geomancer Yugelu in Jahara, Zodiark will be available to fight against. Zodiark is the most powerful Esper in the game, and can be fought in Henne Mines’ special dig site. Once you’re there, he has a pool of three items that can be stolen. Without the Thief’s Cuffs, the likelihoods are the Serpentarius at 55%, Megalixir at 10%, and Trango Tower at 3%. With the Thief’s Cuffs, the odds are the Serpentarius at 80%, Megalixir at 30%, and Trango Tower at 6%. You will likely need to attempt this fight multiple times until you get the correct steal.
Obtain a WyrmHero Blade via Bazaar
This is not marked missable, but potentially is. One of the ingredients for the Wyrmhero Blade, specifically the Omega Badge, is given to you as a drop when you defeat Omega in the Great Crystal. If you zone out of the room without picking it up, you will permanently lose it.
Steal a Byblos Bone from and then defeat Yiazmat without leaving the arena
Yiazmat is the ultimate Elite Mark, only opened after vanquishing the optional boss Hell Wyrm and completing all Rank VII Marks. It is at Ridorana Cataract in the room labeled Colosseum, and has an astounding 50 million HP. Once you’re there, it has a pool of two items that can be stolen. Without the Thief’s Cuffs, the likelihoods are the Yagyu Darkblade at 10%, and Bone of Byblos at 3%. With the Thief’s Cuffs, the odds are the Yagyu Darkblade at 30%, and Bone of Byblos at 6%. You will likely need to attempt this fight multiple times until you get the correct steal.
Steal an Excalibur from and then defeat Hell Wyrm in Trial Mode
Hell Wyrm is in Stage 87 of Trial Mode, having two steals – the uncommon Jade Collar, and the rare Excalibur. If you don’t get the correct steal and saved at level 80, you will need to reset and do the stages again for another opportunity.
View an easter egg when equipped with Seitengrat (will pop upon entering the map or when equipping Seitengrat on map)
Not missable, but is vague if you don’t know where to look. Go to the Cerobi Steppe's Old Elanise Road area, then equip the Seitengrat. Near the entrance from the Tchita Uplands is a tree, where you will find an arrow floating in the air at about head-level. The arrow will be the same type as the player's currently equipped arrow. This video demonstrates what you’re supposed to be looking for. I don’t know what this is supposed to be other than a glitch, but it is pretty damn funny.
