Arc the Lad III ‐ All Job Endings Guide - RetroAchievements/guides GitHub Wiki
Some general tips:
- Save often! All Inns have a save journal that you can use before starting a job. If saving during a job, consider using a separate slot to be safe.
- All jobs are numbered, the easiest way to not miss an optional job on disc one is to do them in numerical order. The only exception to this will be job 40 which must be started and completed during job 39 and the ordering will account for this. On disc two, accepting story based jobs will cause some optional jobs to no longer be available. The safest route to avoid missing any is to make sure all guilds are clear of optional jobs before accepting a new story based job. There are only two tricky points with this. Completing job 76 and reporting the results will lead to being forced to accept 81 so make sure all jobs in Paltos are completed before job 76 is finished. After this you will not be forced to accept a story based job until completing 98 and will want to be sure all guilds are clear before another is accepted. Job 90 is the only other tricky one but as long as job 92 is not accepted before you complete it, all is well.
- Once you accept a job, the job must be brought to the appropriate complete, fail, or incomplete status to earn the applicable achievements. Reloading saves is fine and recommended since jobs cannot be replayed.
- If you get a prompt when taking a job that it must be given your full attention or started immediately, that means any in progress jobs will be abandoned. Refrain from taking this until all in progress jobs are completed. These will typically be jobs that are required progression, but a few optional jobs will also give this prompt. To avoid this potentially happening, taking new jobs only when the previous was completed is the safest route. It is also possible to say no, finish jobs and then go back to that one.
- The game will clearly state when you will be unable to return to your current location. Other than going to South Sularto, all new locations are points of no return on disc 1. Make sure everything is done before leaving any location. While things like wanted monsters are not missable, they won't be able to be done until disc 2 if you wait and the levels gained from hunting them will help far more earlier in the game.
- Easiest way to lose a battle is to send your lowest HP character to fight alone and do not attack. Equipping weaker armor or no armor also can help. If you have issues with counter attacks, equip the character with a spear or gun since those do not counter.
- This guide is meant more to give a general rundown of how to get the endings because especially the fail and incomplete endings are not covered in any other guides. For more detailed step by step on how to complete jobs, especially anything involving a dungeon, it is advised to consult a walkthrough or map. Both of the walkthroughs on GameFAQs will get you through any troublesome spots. Maps will be especially helpful during jobs 69, 72 and the final dungeon that have the most complex dungeons in the game.
- There will be instances of a small delay between the game displaying the status of the job and the achievement unlocking. Normally this is just until a scene transition, but the achievements unlock when the memory updates indicating job completion which will be once all scenes for the job are viewed. This guide will note any that have a cutscene between the completion dialog showing and the achievement trigger since there are some with a decent length scene before the job is truly complete according to the game.
Test Complete! [5]
Complete Job 1 - Hunter Registration Test.
Progression - Cannot be failed. Just go to the Trial Cave, make you way through it and defeat Tengaron at the end. You can leave the cave at any time if you need to return to town to get better gear and battles can be refought.
Protected the Stuff [3]
Complete Job 2 - Protect Medicinal Plants.
Successfully complete Job 2 by catching all three mice within 5 attempts. Note: To get Three Blind Mice, the mice must all be caught within three attempts.
One Blind Alec [1]
Fail to complete Job 2 - Protect Medicinal Plants.
Fail to successfully complete Job 2 by not catching all three mice. Two, one, or zero mice caught all have the same result. The easiest route would be to pay attention to where the mice are and then purposely go to the wrong box.
Special Delivery! [5]
Complete Job 3 - Supplies for Hunter Jay.
Accept the job and then head to either Lukae Riverbank or Kiska Marsh. At the first location there will be a battle, win it. After that go to the other location to find Jay and deliver the items. If by chance you don't have the items, he'll remind you of what they are and you can return to get them.
A Timely Rescue [2]
Finish Job 3 - Supplies for Hunter Jay with moderate success.
Same as above, but lose the battle in the first location you head to. At that location deliver the supplies.
All Boxed In [3]
Complete Job 4 - Nasty Creatures in the House.
Successfully push all the boxes over each of the holes so the mice can't get in. If this can be done without needing to reset that will also net "Perfect Pusher"
Hard to Push [1]
Fail to complete Job 4 - Nasty Creatures in the House.
Once the minigame starts, bring up the menu and choose to give up.
Protecting the Hopes and Dreams [5]
Complete Job 5 - Examiner's Assistant
Accept the job and then the party will move to a familiar place where their own trial was. Except unlike their trial, these prospective hunters are not worthy. Defeat them and the job is complete.
The Most Important Thing [3]
Fail to complete Job 5 - Examiner's Assistant.
Fail to defeat the prospective hunters and get this ending instead.
Special Delivery! [5]
Complete Job 6 - Chase the Monster Egg Trunk.
This is a story based job and cannot be failed. It is also the point of no return for Eteru Isle for disc one. While Wanted Monsters and treasure are not missable, Alec won't be able to return until disc one is completed, which will be during job 69. Upon accepting this job, any incomplete jobs will be aborted or assigned to another hunter so make sure 1-5 are done before accepting this.
Accept the job, talk to the innkeeper to obtain the trunk. Then head to the docks to see what is going on with the ship. Alec and Lutz will need to find the crew. Once all are found, board the ship when ready. Once in Forestamore, head to the inn to find the owner of the trunk, Poco. Then deliver to the Monster Society to complete the job.
The Power of the Cards [5]
Complete Job 7 - Fetch the Runaway Boy.
Head to the Great Scar and find the man from the Monster Society trying to help him. Alec and Lutz lower a vine and come to help Theo. They go into the ruins because Theo won't leave otherwise. Once inside, solve a slide puzzle and Theo will become a Cardist. To more easily solve the puzzle, press the button to show the numbers. Also keep in mind that being on the edges allows swapping two of the tiles instead of four, this will be essential to solve it.
Once outside, there are monsters attacking. Win the battle to complete the job. Feel free to make use of Theo's new powers and get In the Cards right now by cardishing one of the monsters. From here on cardishing any new monsters will save a lot of time later and is good to pair with hunting Wanted Monsters by having Theo cardish any of the regular monsters found while trying to defeat all the Wanted Monsters and using those cards regularly. At minimum, do this as much as possible until you gain a fifth party member.
The Not So Manly Results [5]
Complete Job 8 - Renn Hunters' Monster Assault.
This job will be started immediately upon accepting it, so it is advised to not accept any others first. Once at Corelia PAss, win both battles and the job will be completed. The answers to the question towards the end does not affect the completion status of the job.
Inspiration Comes! [3]
Complete Job 9 - Model for a Troubled Painter.
Go to the inn and speak with the innkeeper, then head to Renn Port. From there you'll do a minigame where you have to press buttons for each character at Girth's command. There is a small allowance for incorrect button presses, but really only in the first round for sure.
The Spicy Stalker [5]
Complete Job 10 - Chase Away the Suspicious Man
Accept the job and head over to Mina's house (she lives near the port, to the left of the guild). Talk to her, then watch some cutscenes and then you'll head to Noalis Forest. Win the battle to complete the job.
A Calm and Happy New Home [5]
Complete Job 11 - New Parent for the Baby Monster.
This is a story job so it can't be failed. Get the baby monster from the Monster Society and then head to Vernica. Speak with the Elder and get told about Lieza. Try to head to the ranch and get stopped by Paundit. The villagers in Vernica try to help and Hannah suggests going to Noalis Forest to see if there is a Calm Nut left from the ones she planted. Head to the forest and defeat some Crimson Rocs and get the nut, then head to Astorny Bridge to calm Paundit. Go meet with Lieza and she'll take the baby monster. This achievement will unlock shortly after she agrees to take the monster.
After doing one optional job, job 15 will become available. Do not accept it until all other jobs are completed.
No Rainbows for the Gang [5]
Complete Job 12 - Drive the Gang from the Bridge.
Head over to Astorny Bridge after accepting this job to start the first of a line of jobs involving the Rainbow Bridge Gang. All that is needed is to defeat them and they will leave. Depending on your levels this might be tricky since they are close in level, possibly higher than the party depending on how much has been done so far. Keep everyone healed up via items or Alec's Cure ability and you should succeed.
A Model for Success [2]
Complete Job 13 - New Work for the Artist
After accepting this job, head over to the pub and find Girth. It seems he wants to convince a girl to model for him and of all people to volunteer to help, it's Lutz. Choose the following options for success:
- Excuse me
- Model for a picture,
- You're perfect for a model
- No! It's true!
- Please model!
These aren't the only responses that will work. Overall keep Lutz on topic and don't get creepy and he'll likely succeed. Succeed on the first try and you'll also earn Smooth Talking Lutz.
Not So Smooth Talking [1]
Fail to complete job 13 - New Work for the Artist
Instead of convincing Leimi to model, you want Lutz to fail miserably. Having Lutz try to flirt with her or getting off topic or just not making sense will work.
The Hotheaded Rivalry Begins [5]
Complete Job 14 - Corelia Pass Monster Mashing.
Accept the job and head over to Corelia Pass. There are monsters there, defeat them and then watch the cutscenes to complete the job.
Felled by an Opossum [2]
Fail to complete Job 14 - Corelia Pass Monster Mashing.
Same as above, but lose the battle instead.
One Weird Collector [5]
Complete Job 15 - Recover the Strange UFO.
Progression, cannot be failed. After accepting the job, head to the shop and you'll talk to Baguda. After listening to him explain about the UFO, head over to Karkado Mountains. After a scene, win a battle and then bring the object back to Baguda to complete the job.
With a Bit Less Poison Next Time Please [5]
Complete Job 16 - A Nut in the Basement.
Accept the job and head to the pub. After some scenes, Alec will be advised to go to Monaire's shop. Talk to her and bring her back to the pub. She'll then advise to give the nut a Vigor Seed. If you don't have one, head to the shop where Baguda was in the last job and buy one. Give it to the nut and then he's fine, but it turns out you got some drunk monsters to deal with now. Defeat them to complete the job.
One Beast of a Job [2]
Complete Job 17 - A Playmate for Paundit
Make sure to save before starting this because it's very easy to fail this one in error. Accept the job, head to Lieza's Ranch and agree to take Paundit to Karkado Mountains. Paundit will find some buddies to play with. Problem is, they all look alike and you have to figure out which one to take back to Lieza. Another issue, they go off screen while playing so you can't watch and keep track of them. It's unknown if this is random or not, but the easiest to reason out was the first. The dog that doesn't say anything was Paundit, which was the third one. After that, it's random guessing though oddly it seems Lutz is better at guessing than Theo. If you still fail to figure it out, eventually there will be just one dog moving in a tired or drunk manner. That one should be Paundit, but again it's unknown if this is random which is why saving is recommended.
A Bridge to Inspiration [5]
Complete Job 18 - Bodyguard for the Troubled Painter.
Accept the job, head to the inn and find out Girth left without his escort. Head to Astorny Bridge to find him. Once arriving, monsters will attack. Win the battle and the job is completed.
Seeing the Not so Little Roc [5]
Complete Job 19 - See the Little Roc.
Accept the job and then head to the Monster Society. Len is the girl hanging out in there to trade with. She wants to see a Little Roc, thing is she doesn't know what kind of Roc it is. First the party heads to Corelia Pass to see the Rocs, but those aren't it. Still they are attacking so the battle has to be won. Then the party heads to Noalis Forest for the Crimsom Rocs. Of course they also attack. Win that battle to complete the job.
Dang Smelly Birds [3]
Finish Job 19 - See the Little Roc with moderate success.
Same as above, but lose the battle against the Crimson Rocs after winning against the Rocs.
A Rare One Way Trip [5]
Complete Job 20 - Appraisal of a Mysterious Object.
Make sure you've completed all other jobs and everything you want to do in Forestamore for now. This job will void all incomplete jobs and the team won't be returning to Forestamore until disc 2. Accept the job, then head over to the item shop and go talk to Baguda. The party then finds out there is no ship to Gislem and they have to figure out a way to get there. Next go to the Monster Society.
The chief has an means, but wants three cards in exchange that aren't from monsters found in Forestamore. These will be added to your monster book.
-
Wild Hemo-ji - Len, the girl obsessed with Crimson Rocs has one and wants a Crimson Roc card. Head to Noalis Forest and cardish one then trade with her.
-
Slime - A man walking around the Monster Society has a tip that a sailor has one. Head to the port and that is correct. You'll need to help with the cargo loading though. Complete a minigame and you'll win the Slime card. You have as many tries as needed for progression, but for A Perfect Accounting you need to get it right on the first try so make sure to save before your first attempt.
-
Dandelion - Visit Hannah in Vernica and she'll advise that Dandelions can be found at the Great Scar. Head there and there will be a battle that includes one. Have Theo Cardish it and you'll have the card.
After this head back to the society to get the card. Now you need to figure out a way to use it because this one doesn't work like normal cards. Lieza will be able to help here, so take the card to her. The game will warn one last time that this is a point of no return, say you're ready to go and you'll see a FMV and then be in North Sulatro. Head a bit south to find Society Village and the Item Society is right by the entrance. Deliver the object and the job is complete.
A Rather Small Population [5]
Complete Job 21 - Gislem Census.
After completing the previous job this is the only one available so accept it. It's also progression so you can't fail it. It's pretty easy too, you just have to talk to everyone in Gislem. Make sure to enter every building, including the Academy branch and the Danger Dome. In the Inn, make sure to check the rooms too. This will let you meet Gislem's various residents. There are 31 in total and the achievement has a counter to let you know how close you are.
Iron With a Heart of Love [5]
Complete Job 22 - Help the Troubled Customer.
Accept the job and head over to the Inn. Talk to the innkeper and then head to the first room. After your chat with the woman, head to the Danger Dome. Look for the person by the door on top with a spear and talk to him. You'll have to bet an item, if it is not worth much he'll object and you have to try again. An iron weapon should suffice. Theo will fight solo against him and must win. After that head back to the inn. The party gives the woman the spear, but they get the impression something is still wrong. They head back to the Danger Dome again and now find someone talking about a spear they stole. Theo again will fight to win it back. Win and get an Iron Spear. Give it to the woman and she'll be satisfied.
Of Mice and Assassins [5]
Complete Job 23 - Power Plant Chief's Crisis.
Accept the job and head to Society Village. The Power Plant is towards the north. Enter and Melt will be right inside. Watch a few cutscenes and then a battle will ensue. Win the battle and the job is completed.
A Friendly Rivalry [5]
Complete Job 24 - Wilderness Monster Mashing
Accept this job, head to the Sabi Wilds. There the party will meet up with Alba and his team. Alba proposes a contest to beat the monsters faster than him. If you want to get The Best Hunter, don't take the handicap he offers. To complete the job, Alec's team must win faster than Alba's team did. If you don't take the handicap, that is 3 turns or less. This will be tricky because the monsters are spread out and most have high defense. It would be advised to make sure to have the best gear, some useful cards and be leveled up. The scorpions are level 17, so you want to be there or higher. The Danger Dome is a great source of gear and you can get better than what will be able to be purchased until later in the game with some persistence. Alec having a sword is also a good idea since he frequently counters attacks when equipped with one. That is worth the small loss to his attack power and generally he should only use spears when you don't want him to counter.
A Dangerously Draining Experiment [5]
Complete Job 25 - Traveling Merchant's Tonic Test.
Accept the job and head to Galecki Falls in the north. The party will meet up with a merchant who wants them to test a tonic. They all test it and then monsters appear. The party will need to beat the monsters, except now the tonic is making them weaker instead of stronger. So the battle has to be won while HP and MP are draining each turn. Alec's Cure won't be of as much use here since he'll eventually run out of MP if the battle goes too long. The key here is to use consumables as needed, use AoE attacks where possible while you have MP and make good use of Theo's Summon ability. Win and the job will the completed. After that to get Free is the Best Price, refuse to pay and the items are obtained for free.
A Tiring Experiment [2]
Finish Job 25 - Traveling Merchant's Tonic Test with moderate success.
Same as above but lose the battle which may happen naturally if you can win quickly. After that, the party gets the same offer of items, except this time instead of being weapons it's a lot of healing consumables. Refuse to pay and they are obtained for free still.
Southern Inhospitality for the Bandits [5]
Complete Job 26 - Escort to the Ruined City
Accept the job and head to the orphanage. Only the kids will be present and they ask for an escort to the Ruined City. Alec agrees after being worn down a bit. While there some bandits attack. Win the battle. Alec brings them back and as he's leaving the bandits return. Win against them again and the job is complete.
Tough as the Alloy [5]
Complete Job 27 - Get a Valuable Synthesis Item
Accept the job and head over to the Item Society. They will tell you they are looking for Tough Alloy and now you have to locate it. Head to Gislem's pub and pay the bartender 100g twice to get info that Cheryl has it. Head to the Danger Dome. The party will find Cheryl there being harassed. Win a battle and the Tough Alloy will be yours.
Rain Falls on the Bandits [5]
Complete Job 28 - Clean up Galecki Falls.
Accept the job and head to Galecki Falls. The party will meet up with the Rainbow Bridge Gang again. There will be a battle, win it to complete the job.
A Fruity Defeat [3]
Fail to complete Job 28 - Clean up Galecki Falls.
Same as above, but lose the battle.
No Longer Secret [5]
Complete Job 29 -Search for the Secret Fruit
Accept the job, head to the inn. You find out about the fruit and some of how to get it. A monster has to be left alive and followed, problem is you only get vague info about what monster. Head to Sabi Wilds and fight a battle. Leave the dragon alone and defeat everything else and follow it and get the fruit.
Special Delivery [Points]
Fail to complete Job 29 -Search for the Secret Fruit
Same as above, but keep anything but the dragon alive. After that you get an option to try again or give up, choose to give up.
Saved in the Falls [5]
Complete Job 30 - Monster Invasion!
Accept the job and head to the pub. Find the other hunter and speak with him. Then the party will head to the Ruined City. Win the battle and the job will be complete.
Saved in the City [2]
Fail to complete Job 30 - Monster Invasion!
Same as above, but lose the battle.
A Very Lucky Win [3]
Complete Job 31 - Synthesis Tournament Partner.
Accept the job and head to Society Village. Talk to the girl near the gate. Her name is Portia and she needs a partner for a tournament. Alec will agree to help. Alec will need to pick the item that can make a useful item with the item Portia picks. Here's what to pick:
Round 1: Shimmer Stone Round 2: Fur Cape Round 3: Mint
Never Giving Up! [2]
Fail to complete Job 31 - Synthesis Tournament Partner
SAme as above, but to get this ending Alec and Portia have to be eliminated in the first or second round. If they make it to the final one, it will be an incomplete. It actually would be faster to pick the right item for the first round and then don't pick the Fur Cape in the second.
A New Town and a Familiar Old Face [10]
Complete Job 32 - Bazaar Synthesis Item Sale.
This job is story and cannot be failed. Unlike previous areas, this is not a point of no return for North Sularto though the party will be traveling to a new area. Make sure all optional jobs are completed, but anything else can be left for later. After accepting the job head to the Item Society and then the Weapon Society. From there head to the Ruined City to find Cheryl. Help her out and she joins the party for good now. Next stop will be the Secret Path. Travel through the straightforward dungeon grabbing treasure and fighting monsters along the way until the party comes out in South Sularto. Head to Testa. Then head to the Item Soeciety and find out you need to help them get the item. They recommend meeting with Tosh for help. After a meeting with a character who will be familiar if you've played the previous two games, head over to Pandira. To the right of the Casino in the center will be Ali's shop. Give Ali's full name and you'll get the needed item. Head to the Item Society and then the Weapon Society and then to the Bazaar Control Office and then after one more meeting with Tosh the job will be complete.
Foiled the Plan [5]
Complete Job 33 - Another Power Plant Crisis.
This is where doing jobs in order is useful because once the party heads to Testa's Guild it's clear that another job is available in Gislem because it goes to 34. So head back to Gislem to accept this job. To do this go to the Secret Path and there should now be an option for North Sularto. Select this. This allows you to go back and forth between the areas until it's time to leave for the next area after South Sularto. Anyway, head to Gislem's Guild to accept this job and then back to the Power Plant in Society Village to finish off this quest line. After getting the explanation Alec is left to roam. Start by going upstairs and talk to the Chief. After that two battles will happen, win both to complete the job.
Lyor Saves the Day [4]
Fail to complete Job 33 - Another Power Plant Crisis.
Same as above but lose both battles. After losing the first, send the same character for the second who will only have 1 HP so that will be easier.
The Better Trader [5]
Complete Job 34 - Bazaar Item Contest.
Accept the job and then head to the Bazaar. Lutz will volunteer to do this (not like you can deny him). Lutz will have to compete against Alba to win the contest. The key is to get the best item possible but to do so normally would take more trades than allowed. The key to this is that after completing one trade, Alba will trade a knife for a special item. Do this trade.
So the order will be as follows:
- Trade the herb for a Memory Plant or Power Jelly
- Trade that item for either a Bronze Dagger or Butcher Knife.
- Trade for Alba's special item which is an Apple Extract.
- Trade the apple for a Big Bomb.
- Trade the Big Bomb for a Silver Blade.
Then talk to the contest administrator to complete the contest.
The Inefficient Trade [3]
Fail to complete Job 34 - Bazaar Item Contest.
Same as above, but talk to the contest administrator without getting the Silver Blade.
Quickest to the Center [5]
Complete Job 35 - Crash Site Monster Bash.
Accept the job and head to the Secret Path. You'll run into Alba's team here. As usual with jobs involving Alba, there is a contest to win. Alec's party has to get to the center faster than Alba's team, which means 7 turns or less. There will be 3 battles, so on average you want to complete them in 2 turns. AoE attacks and monster cards will help a lot here as will good equipment. Once you reach the center there will be one more battle, win it and the job is completed.
Back to Square One [2]
Fail to complete Job 35 - Crash Site Monster Bash.
Same as above, but lose any battle.
Slow and Steady Didn't Win the Race [5]
Finish Job 35 - Crash Site Monster Bash with moderate success.
Same as above but take 8 turns or more to reach the center.
Charming and Unbreakable [5]
Complete Job 36 - Discover the Charm's Power.
Remember Dorvan? Well this job involves some of his family and just like him they want Alec's party to test some crazy thing they discovered. This time it's a charm that ends up taking away your ability to use normal attacks. Win the battle under these conditions to complete the job. Having some cards will definitely help a lot here as will Lutz's Fatal Dagger.
Far Too Unbreakable [2]
Finish Job 36 - Discover the Charm's Power with moderate success.
Same as above, but lose the battle.
An Influx of Shoppers [3]
Complete Job 37 - Make the Shop Prosper.
Send the following characters to speak with each potential shopper:
- Spicy: Lutz
- Upset woman: Cheryl
- Hunter: Theo
- Lavender: Alec
This will also net "Efficient Barker"
Drove Them AWay [2]
Fail to complete Job 37 - Make the Shop Prosper.
Have any characters but the ones mentioned above sent to speak with the potential shoppers.
Sharp Eyed Alec [3]
Complete Job 38 - Catch the Bazaar Shoplifter!
Complete all stages of the minigame without picking the wrong person.
Mixed Them Up [2]
Fail to complete Job 38 - Catch the Bazaar Shoplifter!
Pick out one of the brothers instead of the shoplifter.
After this job is done, job 39 is available. Start the job but before completing there's another job to do first:
Riot Quelled [5]
Complete Job 40 - Stop the Riot.
Accept this job in the Gislem Hunter's Guild. Go to the Secret Path, watch the scene and then win the battle.
That Hurt a Lot [3]
Fail to complete Job 40 - Stop the Riot.
Same as above, but lose the battle instead.
Back Home Where It Belongs [10]
Complete Job 39 - Bring Back the Water Sphere!
Progression - cannot be failed. Go to Gislem to hear about the Battleship and then head there to find the sphere. Job will be completed upon returning to Testa after defeating Chaos Arms.
New Bonds [5]
Complete Job 41 - Friends for Danny.
Accept the job and head to the Orphanage. Talk to Danny after Kulara explains the situation. Alec's responses to Danny don't matter much here. Then speak with his foster parents at the inn. After that head to the Ruined City and Alec's team will have to protect the kids fromn some bandits. Win the battle and the job is complete.
A Slap in the Face [3]
Finish Job 41 - Friends for Danny with moderate success.
Same as above, but lose the battle.
A Punishment to Suit the Crime [5]
Complete Job 42 - A Request from Tosh.
Accept the job and then speak with Tosh. Talk to the people in the Weapon, Item and Monster Societies along with the Innkepper and Bartender at the pub. Once you have done this, Alec will say he should report to Tosh, do so and Tosh will join him. Next you have to actually catch the guy in the act which means you need to get a step ahead of him, but if you take too long Tosh will get impatient. The guard goes in the order of Item Society, Pub, Monster Society, Weapon Society, and then the Inn. So if you find out he left for the Monster Society your next stop is the Weapon Society. Once you confront him it will be suggested to lure him to the Hell Plain. Check the fenced in area in the SW of town to find him. Then you'll go to the Hell Plain and the guard will arrive with some goons. A battle will ensue and Tosh is a required member of the party, win it and then there will be a choice to make. Choice doesn't matter in regards to completion but it will determine how Tosh deals with the man. Pick whatever you want, but Hold a Grudge is more amusing and satisfying.
Arrived Too Late [3]
Finish Job 42 - A Request from Tosh with moderate success.
Same as above, but lost the battle after luring the guard to the Hell Plain.
Fragments of Friendship [5]
Complete Job 43 - Gislem Gift Courier.
Accept the job and head to the Secret Path's south end (the part accessed from South Sularto). The client will be there. He asks the party to find two items that are opposites but he doesn't know what they are besides that they are rare. Enter the dungeon. First room will have a battle and no items to be found. In the next room there will be an Amazing Herb. Next room will be empty, after that there will be an Iron Sword and a Power Jelly. After that will be another battle and no items. Then head to the next room to find a Mint by the door and a Light Fragment by the save and heal points. After that will be another battle and no items in that room. Then you'll reach the center which has a Fur Cape, Revolver, and Steel Spear. The next room will have another battle and no items. The room after that has a Dark Fragment. Do not grab this yet if you are looking to get all the items because is one more. Instead go to the next room and grab the Chain Vest. That should bring you to 9/10 items, so now head back and grab the Dark Fragment. After that the party will leave and head to the Gislem Item Shop with the loot.
What is the Opposite? [3]
Fail to complete Job 43 - Gislem Gift Courier.
Same as above, but instead of going back for the Dark Fragment, head to the other side and then say you are finished.
A Bright Rainbow [5]
Complete Job 44 - Chase the Gang Away.
Accept the job and head to the South Wharf. Fight the gang again and win to complete the job.
Little Raindrops Make Great Fruit [3]
Fail to complete Job 44 - Chase the Gang Away
Same as above, but instead lose the battle.
An Important Delivery [5]
Complete Job 45 - Take Information to the Library.
This job is the point of no return for North and South Sularto, so make sure to complete anything you wish to before heading to the South Wharf. It won't be until disc 2 that you can access the Danger Dome and Casino again.
Accept the job and then go to Society Village in North Sularto to obtain data from each of the Societies there. Then go back to South Sularto and head to the South Wharf. Win the battle and then get on the ship. After that head to the library in Paysus which will be in the SW corner.
A Future of Discipline [10]
Complete Job 46 - All Hunters, Find Tikva!
Progression, can't be failed. This one isn't hard but can be a bit time consuming. The game pretty much will steer you as needed towards where to investigate until your objective is met. At the end there will be a boss battle to win.
A Monitored Future [5]
Complete Job 47 - Finger the Page Pilferer!
To successfully complete this job two things are required:
- The thief must be successfully found.
- The alibis of the suspects must be examined.
It is unknown if the order of how you arrange the alibis has any bearing on this, but the order of Yonan, Gants, and Culpioni does work. The thief is Yonan.
Lessons Learned [3]
Fail to complete Job 47 - Finger the Page Pilferer!
There are two ways to do this and they do have variations.
The more interesting variant:
- Speak with the suspects
- When it comes time to examine alibis, say that you know who did it
- Select the wrong person. Gants is a good choice, but anyone besides Yonan will work.
The less interesting variant:
- Speak with the suspects
- When it comes time to examine alibis, say you give up. When the librarian asks if you are joking say you are dead serious.
The Start of Something Big [5]
Complete Job 48 - Drive Lakeshore Bandits Away!
As usual, beat the Rainbow Bridge Gang in battle. As usual, they have gained no levels but their leader now has an assistant who is level 40 and likely higher level than the party. Be wary and take out the gang members first and then focus on the assistant.
Beaten By Seven Fruits [3]
Fail to complete Job 48 - Drive Lakeshore Bandits Away!
Lose the battle. Because of the overleveled assistant this time, this could happen without even trying to make it happen.
A Wild Goose Chase [5]
Complete Job 49 - Find the Pet Dog.
Win all three battles of the very wild goose chase for the dog. No failure one here because the ending is just a shorter version of this.
The Eccentric Test [5]
Complete Job 50 - Retrieve the Scroll of Truth.
How you answer the questions does not matter. All that matters is two things:
- You obtain all the treasure
- The battle is completed successfully by defeating all monsters
If one of these is missed, the job will end pretty much the same.
To ensure this doesn't happen, make sure to go after the treasures first. Do not engage with the monsters. If you run into trouble because of counter attacks, equip weapons and bring a party that won't counter. Give Alec a spear and/or replace Lutz or Marsia with Theo. Cheryl's guns don't counter and neither do spears, but rods, swords and knives can counter and accidentally defeat the monsters. Keeping Marsia instead of Lutz is likely the better choice since she is likely still underleveled, counters less often, and is generally a weak physical attacker.
Hunting for Information [10]
Complete Job 51 - Collect Historical Information.
This one is very picky and has many requirements for a successful completion.
First, you definitely need to successfully interview Salubari and Harzen. To do this, you must win both of the battles. On top of the interviews you must speak with everyone you can. Make sure to speak with the Monks Harzen was training, the students in Ruhsaht, head up to the library's second floor and speak with as many NPCs as you can in Paysus.
A Shining Legend [5]
Complete Job 52 - Investigate the Spooky Sounds!
To successfully complete this job the following needs to happen:
- Have Cheryl read the books on all 6 locations. Talking to Wyat here is optional, but highly recommended for some funny dialog.
- Next you must say you know what it is. For the next choice, select "Hemo-ji" If the wrong choice is selected, the game will say so with some funny dialog and let you try again.
- This one is vital because if the wrong selection is made and confirmed by Alec, the job will be failed. Next pick the location which will be Mt. Amaidar Peak. If the right one is picked, have Alec confirm that sounds good. If the wrong one is selected make sure Alec does not confirm so you can go back and pick the right one.
- Party will head to the area and find some Hemo-jis. Win the battle and this one is done.
It would be recommended to have a few Power Jellies on hand to heal anyone turned into a Hemo-ji.
A Decision is Made [5]
Complete Job 53 - Help Sania Break the Cycle.
The most important thing here is to force Yan to actually make a decision, so your own decisions are what determines the outcome here. The first choice does not matter because the result will be the same no matter what. The only choices that matter are after the monsters show up.
- Stay Silent
- You're on your own
After that there will be a battle. The outcome of the battle does not matter.
Crippled By Decision Paralysis [3]
Fail to complete Job 53 - Help Sania Break the Cycle.
Make any decisions besides staying silent and telling Yan he's on his own. Winning or losing the battle doesn't matter.
The Not So Powerful Sparkles [5]
Complete Job 54 - Traveling Duo's Great Discovery.
Maybe someday the party will learn their lesson about this family but this job sure isn't it. As usual, win the battle despite the huge handicap. Thankfully these monsters are below the party's levels.
A Sparkling Defeat [3]
Finish Job 54 - Traveling Duo's Great Discovery with moderate success.
Lose the battle and watch the funny scene.
Misdirected into the Future [5]
Complete Job 55 - Trainee Mon's Romance Trouble.
This is probably the most annoying job in the whole game solely because of how awful the Monk Misdirection minigame can be since it combines stealth with an escort quest and the guy being escorted is one of the dumbest ever. This cannot be stressed enough: SAVE BEFORE STARTING THIS JOB!!!
So first step, is to lead Kurt down the mountain without being seen. This will require a combination of speaking with him to tell him what direction to move in and speaking with the monks patrolling to distract them. The easiest way is to direct Kurt first to the far left, then down, and then right. Alec standing in front of the Monk is enough to block him from view as well.
Once that is done, there will be a battle with Alba and his group. Win this to complete the job successfully.
A Lack of Misdirection [3]
Fail to complete Job 55 - Trainee Monk's Romance Trouble.
If this doesn't come naturally, just don't bother to misdirect the monks until the job fails.
A New Town and a New Worry [5]
Complete Job 56 - Archmonk Iga's Special Delivery.
Progression and cannot be failed. Get the letter from Iga first, then hop on the boat. Head to Paltos first to figure out where to find Leshalt and then head to the Mountain Retreat and finish the job.
Note: The achievement will unlock a decent amount after the game says the job is complete. This is because the game itself doesn't change the memory indicating successful completion until after the scene with Velhart.
Alec the Codebreaker [5]
Complete Job 57 - Decode the Mysterious Memo.
To complete this job successfully there are two things that need to be done:
- Figure out the correct location
- Win the battle
The codes are generally acronyms of the words in the memo. If you mess up, there are three chances in total. First one is at Tolarka Ruins, second is in Parute Desert, last is in Dartanelle Beach. The scenes all play out the same, so it doesn't matter if you get it wrong at first.
All Coded Out [3]
Fail to complete Job 57 - Decode the Mysterious Memo.
This can happen in one of two ways:
- Get the location right, but lose the battle.
- Get the location wrong three times.
A Generous Donation [5]
Complete Job 58 - Stop Illegal Monster Card Buying.
Find the rich guy at the inn first. You'll automatically be sent to Tolarka Ruins. Win both battles and this job is a success.
No failure achievement since the incomplete is just a shorter version and the fail abruptly ends the job.
An Unpredictable Monster [5]
Complete Job 59 - Monster Extermination at Tolarka.
This job is simple, just win the two battles and the job is a success.
No failure achievement since the ending is about the same with a small variance of Alba gloating if you fail.
Alec the Commander [5]
Complete Job 60 - Command a Monster Hunter Team!
This one can be a bit tricky since there are two major things to get right. First you have to assign the correct hunters to the correct areas. The easiest is Parute Desert, then Tolarka Ruins and then Dartanelle Beach. Take each hunter at face value in how they describe their skills. What can sound like boasting is going to be actual skill and you want those people at the beach. There are six hunters to assign, two to each area. Going from left to right you want to assign the hunters to the following locations: Beach, Desert, Ruins, Desert, Beach, Ruins.
If all is done right, you'll arrive to each location finding that the hunters had no issue with the monsters. But you won't get off that easy, the intel was no good and once the newbie hunters leave the Desert some powerful monsters will arrive for you to clean up. Defeat them and the job is completed.
A Bratty Meeting [5]
Complete Job 61 - Help with the Tournament Prep!
Very easy progression job. Gruga's home is in the SW corner of Paltos, go there and watch some scenes. A battle will happen, win and you're done.
Gengal's Back! [5]
Complete Job 62 - Help Hunter Back from Darkside.
Win all the battles and the completion is yours.
Double the Loss [3]
Fail to complete Job 62 - Help Hunter Back from Darkside.
Lose either of the first two battles before you face Gengal. Both have the same outcome either way.
Survived the Monster Gauntlet [5]
Complete Job 63 - Scout the Site of a New Inn!
This should be familiar enough after multiple requests from this family, but yet again the party will fall for it and all will take the tonic. Win all three battles and you'll complete this.
Too Many Monsters [3]
Fail to complete Job 63 -Scout the Site of a New Inn!
Lose any of the battles and the party will fail. The ending is the same no matter which battle is lost.
The Aura of Success [10]
Complete Job 64 - Safeguard the Tournament Prize.
This job is progression and cannot be failed. Win the battles, then navigate the dungeon and defeat the boss.
Note: After this you must accept job 69, that's fine because you can accept other jobs while it's in progress. Make sure to talk to the receptionist again to get access to jobs 65-68. Obtaining the hovercraft is a point of no return and the end of disc one. Make sure to complete these remaining jobs in Parute and hunt the wanted monsters before you obtain the hovercraft.
A Safe Rainbow Free Beach [5]
Complete Job 65 - Make Dartanelle Beach Safe Again.
Yep, the bandits are back and yes they have gained no levels since your last encounter. Only the leader will be any threat but this will be much easier than the last time. Win the battle and the job is complete.
One Saucy Win [3]
Fail to complete Job 65 - Make Dartanelle Beach Safe Again.
Lose the battle, which may actually take some effort since the bandits at this point can be killed in a single attack even by your weak physical characters. To speed it up, feel free to attack the bandits and leave the leader so there is less time wasted on attacks that won't do much when only the leader is any threat.
Caught the Kitty [3]
Complete Job 66 - Crisis at the Rochefort Manor.
The only crisis here is a spoiled child. Catch Anrietta's cat three times and the job is complete. If you have trouble catching the cat make sure to direct it towards a corner so it can't run. No fail since the ending is about the same either way.
The Strength of Bravery [5]
Complete Job 67 - Gruga's Surveillance Request.
This is easier to complete than job 65. Only 3 bandits and two of them are even lower levels. Win the battle and the job is successfully completed.
A Lesson Learned [3]
Fail to complete Job 67 - Gruga's Surveillance Request.
Just lose the battle instead to get this ending.
Caught By Love [5]
Complete Job 68 - Catch Mamaman's Depression.
This job has a few steps for a completion. First Catch has to be given a good idea. To ensure you get Catch Them All listen to Cheryl's idea last. After that you have to interview people to make possible pairs. Pick Zenden and Pamela. Then pick any pair among your own party and win the battle.
One Sad Catch [3]
Fail to complete Job 68 - Catch Mamaman's Depression.
To fail all you have to do is pick anyone but Pamela and Zenden when coming up with the pair for the battle.
Note: The point of no return for Parute is partially into the next job. To be safe regarding missables make sure to complete all jobs before entering Cariote Cave.
Fun fact: Jobs 70, 72 and 75 also became available when job 69 was started but until you get the hovercraft, you have no way to get to the guilds they are in (they are in Paysus, Testa, and Renn respectively). Once the hovercraft is obtained they can be done before completing job 69 if you wish or you can complete 69 first and then go and explore. Once the hovercraft is obtained there also will be a new set of wanted monsters in each guild.
A New Disaster [10]
Complete Job 69 - Search Academy HQ.
This is a progression job and cannot be failed. It is also the longest progression job in the game and covers three dungeons. First, head west from Paltos to access Cariote Cave. Navigate through the cave to the end to get the hovercraft. This will be the end of disc one and the point of no return for Parute. Next you will arrive in Ragnark. After a scene you can freely explore the world if you wish but to finish this job head to Felator. Explore the base here until you get to a door where you overhear a conversation between Sharon and Seville, Keep in mind, you have to successfully evade the guards and intruder detection devices or you will be escorted to the entrance. Getting to the end without being detected will net you Sneaky White Cat. After some eavesdropping, head north. You'll have to fight two battles on the way and then will arrive at Academy HQ. Here you get a choice of taking the stairs or navigating a maze of elevators. If you want all treasure, both routes will need to be traveled. Get to the top, defeat the boss and then watch the scenes. After that, return to Paltos and go to the guild's back room and speak with the people there to complete the job.
After this jobs will be available in multiple areas so each job will also indicate which town's guild to go to to get the job. Any instances where doing an earlier job can render a later job missable will be accounted for with ordering.
A Changed Temple [5]
Complete Job 70 - Changes at Amaidar Temple.
Accept this job at the Paysus Guild. Head to Amidar Temple and speak with Iga first. Then speak with the monks twice. Iga then gives a choice, what you pick doesn't matter but saying "I'm sorry" leads to a slightly more interesting result. Then choose two people to lecture the monks. Alec's is recommended for the humor value, but it doesn't matter which is picked. Then you will fight the monks with Velhart alone. Win all six battles and the job will be complete.
Note: This will not unlock until after the scene with Tikva at the gate because that is when the game acknowledges the completion in the memory.
Spoiled by Love [5]
Complete Job 71 - Rochefort Family Crisis.
Accept this job at the Paltos Guild. Win the battle and this completion is yours. As long as Alec stays alive he can carry the battle alone so don't worry about keeping Anrietta out of KO status, though if you can and she can defeat one or both enemies she will gain a ton of levels which will help in a later job.
Note: This must be completed before job 76.
A Heartbroken Anrietta [3]
Fail to complete Job 71 - Rochefort Family Crisis.
Fail to win the battle and this is yours. Anrietta will go down in one hit, so that isn't hard. Otherwise just don't have Alec act and he'll go down eventually as well. The lower his starting HP is, the quicker this will go.
Hunting for Hunters [10]
Complete Job 72 - Explore the Treasure Dungeon!
Accept this job in Testa's Hunter's Guild. It cannot be stressed enough how complex this dungeon is! There is a great map on GameFAQs and the guides have good info as well. This dungeon is full of passages that repeat forever, twisty warps that take you to the wrong places if you don't press the right panel and is generally long and complex and it is very unlikely you will successfully complete this without a guide or map. To successfully complete this job, all the hunters need to be found. There are 4 sets of hunters in total, with the last one being right before the final treasure room. Make sure after meeting her to grab the treasure and then go back. The last two sets won't count until the final hunter is reunited with the injured pair. If you leave before finding all the hunters the job will be failed if none are found or incomplete if you only find some but not all. There is a save and heal room in the middle, feel free to use it because a single session isn't required. All treasure isn't required during the job because this dungeon can be revisited but with how long this dungeon is, it's highly recommended to get all treasure as well since it's all not too far out of the way from the hunters.
This job is available until job 98 is accepted, so feel free to wait until later but the treasure is very worth your time. Only two Romancing Stones exist in the game and the other is much harder to get since it involves playing the Choko Time minigames.
Making an Accurate Future Network [5]
Complete Job 73 - Guild Staff: The Next Generation
Accept this job in the Paltos Guild. To complete this job, Alec needs to successfully guide the trainees into relaying the two messages' overall meaning. Any errors with the messages will lead to an incomplete and pointing out errors on correct words three times with the same trainee will lead to a failure when the trainee leaves. Most of the errors are pretty obvious and it's just a matter of pressing X before they go to the next message. If this is done without causing the trainees to lose trust you'll also earn A Trustworthy Trainer.
Note: This job must be done before completing job 76
Helping an Old Friend [5]
Complete Job 74 - Protect the Material Shipment.
Accept this job in the Itio Guild and then go to Ragnark to do it. To successfully complete this job you need to not only win three battles, but you also need to make sure that none of the monsters sneak past to the area Shu points out. Even one monster getting past you will fail the job. To make this harder, for two battles you'll have less party members than usual.
For the first battle, have Cheryl or Marsia join you. Cheryl's normal attack can hit multiple targets and Marsia's Gaia Magic is a godsend here if she's well leveled. Alec should use Force Ring to attack as many monsters as possible. If they get confused as well, all the better because they will not try and sneak past while confused and may even attack other monsters for you. Velhart should use Omega Breaker and try to get at least two monsters if possible.
The second battle is the hardest since it's just Alec and Velhart. Again, have Alec use Force Ring and hope any monsters that aren't defeated get confused. If a monster is confused, do not have Velhart attack it. If Velhart fails to defeat the monster, this will remove confuse and they may just make a run for it. Have Velhart target non-confused monsters with Omega Breaker if you can get two or more monsters. If not then any ability or a normal attack will suffice.
The last battle is easier since you get a full party and Shu even joins up. Use whoever has the best AoE attacks. Alec should continue to use Force Ring and otherwise the others should try and target as many as possible. A well leveled Marsia is a good pick for this since her Gaia Magic will have a good range to target multiple monsters. Keep your party together, the monsters will often try to attack them and this will get more of them into the range of Force Ring and Marsia's magic.
Note: If Marsia is not well leveled at this point, start bringing her along for jobs and wanted monster hunting since she will be required for a story job coming up soon and if she's lacking in levels then grinding will be needed to proceed with the story.
Honorable Hunters Win the Day [5]
Complete Job 77 - Where Is the Heinous Hunter?
Accept this job at the Gislem Guild. Go to Sabi Wilds and listen to Melissa's story and then win the battle against the hunters. Their levels are high so this could be tricky but should be doable for a party who has been keeping up with jobs and wanted monsters. After that you will head to the Ruined City for another scene and battle. Win this to complete the job.
Way of the Earth [5]
Complete Job 78 - Raia's Dream.
This job must be done before completing job 76 or it will be missed!!!! Accept the job in the Paltos Guild and head to the reception area of the arena to start. First complete a practice run of the dance part that will be done. Don't worry about how you do here or memorizing the button prompts because they will change in the actual performance.
To successfully complete this job Raia's group must score 35 or above. Three of the judges will always give 10s no matter how badly you do, but the fourth judge will take off one point per error made so there is a max of 5 errors allowed before the job is failed. The timing can be a bit tricky to get down but in general you want to press the button below the vocals while that word is being sung. There does not appear to be a penalty for pressing buttons early, just for missing prompts. The game will show when it was correct.
Note: This achievement will not unlock until the scene with Anrietta's birthday party is completed, which will have one more performance of the song that just has to be watched.
No More Hemo-jis [5]
Complete Job 79 - Dreaded Village of Hemo-jis!
Accept this job in the Renn Hunter's Guild and head to Vernica Village. Chaos is ensuing here and you'll see Portia trying to help. There are two parts to this job. First there is a minigame where Cheryl has to correctly shoot the Hemo-jis coming towards her. Press X if it's wild and O if it's a villager. If the Hemo-ji gets too close, one of the party will take the hit for her. If no party members have to do so, this will net Perfect Aim. After saving 10 villagers in the minigame, the party follows a wild Hemo-ji and then there is a battle. Win to complete the job. It is recommended to have a few Power Jellies on hand in case someone is turned into a Hemo-ji, but overall this battle should be pretty easy compared to the minigame.
A Sneaky Savior [3]
Fail to fully complete Job 79 - Dreaded Village of Hemo-jis! (Either fail or incomplete status is fine.)
Unlike most achievements of this sort, either fail or incomplete status will work because the endings are similar. The fail ending is easier and slightly better. To fail, just fail in the shooting minigame by doing nothing. To get the incomplete, succeed in turning back the villagers in the shooting minigame but lose the battle with the Hemo-jis.
The Best Waitress [3]
Complete Job 80 - Sexy Casino Party Help Needed!
Accept this job in Testa and then head to Pandira's inn. The inn is the building to the left of the Casino. To successfully complete this job, Marsia has to get all the orders correct. The easiest way would be to write them down or screencap them, but keep in mind that the customers are often indecisive and often will change orders. In good news, you can't give someone a drink if they did not order anything and there is no time limit to get the orders out.
A Not So Sexy Ending [3]
Fail to complete Job 80 - Sexy Casino Party Help Needed!
Make three mistakes and Marsia gets fired. This can happen in any round.
A Successful Interview [10]
Complete Job 76 - Interview Magic Master Gogen
This job is part of the story and can't be missed. Make sure before completing it to do all jobs in Paltos first. Accept this job at the Paysus Guild. Head to the Spell Institute for a funny scene involving an old acquaintance. You'll then be advised that Gogen can be found at Elbow Cape. With this, a new location opens up in Jiharta on the eastern side. Traverse through the dungeon and its puzzles to find Gogen. After a scene where with his information Alec comes up with an idea, the interview is complete. Compared to the dungeons in jobs 69 and 72, this one is quite easy.
To complete the job, head back to the Paltos Guild to report the results to the Guildmaster. After this you will be forced to accept job 81 which will cause jobs 71, 73, and 78 to be missed. If any of these are still incomplete, do not head into the back room until they are to be safe. Technicality you can complete this job and still do the others, but once you leave Paltos and come back, entering the guild will force you into accepting 81. So it is best to not complete this before 71, 73, and 78 are completed.
A Good Memory [5]
Complete Job 82 - The Truth About the Academy
Accept this job at the Paysus Guild and then head over to the library. This job is easy to complete since it's just a simple test of memory regarding the plot of the game. All jobs it asks about are story related Answer the questions correctly and the job will be completed. It is fine to ask the party for hints.
The answers are as follows:
- Sharon
- Shu
- Marsia
- Velhart
A Terrible Record [3]
Fail to complete Job 82 - The Truth About the Academy
Answer the questions asked with anything but the above answers for some very entertaining results.
The Long Lost Document Found [5]
Complete Job 83 - Where Is the Missing Document?
Accept this job at the Gislem Guild and then head to Society Village to get details from Elnan. From there head to the Item Society in Testa, then the Item Society in Paysus, then the Item Society in Paltos. From there go back to Testa and go to the Weapon Society then to the Weapon Society in Paysus. Head back to Society Village to speak with Elnan again and then to the Weapon Society in Paltos. Then back to Elnan to complete the job.
This job appears to be impossible to fail. There's no way to get bad info or to screw up besides aborting the job or not doing it. Even if your order is wrong, just keep talking to researchers in the societies and the document will eventually be found.
None Shall Pass [5]
Complete Job 84 - Protect Vernia's Treasure.
Accept this job at Renn's guild and then head to Vernica. After a lengthy cutscene, Velhart will go to Astorny Bridge to fend off 10 Ninjas. You'll have to slash at them with the right timing and allow 3 or fewer past to succeed at this job. If none pass, you'll also net Better than a Sneaky Ninja.
Overpowered Sword and Knife [3]
Fail to complete Job 84 - Protect Vernia's Treasure.
This is likely one of the easiest fails to get. Just do nothing and let all the ninjas pass. Watch a cutscene and that is it.
The Meddling Hunter [5]
Complete Job 85 - Spooky Stuffed Animal Warehouse.
Accept this job at Testa's guild. Head over to the Bazaar Control Office. This job will have two minigames in total, one with two rounds of it. First will be a minigame to arrange the stuffed animals to help jog the shop owner's memory. The animals and order is random, so it will need to be puzzled out. Just start off by picking animals at random. Then depending on how the owner responds, move their order and replace as needed and keep adjusting based off her responses. You get six tries each round.
After that, there will be a battle, win it to proceed to the next part which is a minigame to catch the man who did this. The trick here is to lure him over to the left and then the bottom. You want him to pass by Chongara's stand from the bottom left corner. Once this is done, the job is successfully completed.
Laying Ghosts to Rest [10]
Complete Job 81 - Get the Eternal Steel!
This job is part of the story and the story forces its acceptance after getting information from the Guildmaster. First you are advised to go to Cariote Cave to look for the Eternal Steel. Navigate the cave like you did to find the hovercraft until you run into the merchant family. At this point Alec finds out that Cariote Cave does not have it. Feel free to use the services of the family, once done head right to leave the cave. You'll be transported outside. When given options for what to try next, select something else. Then head to the Hero Museum. After a cutscene, head to Digarta Wilds, after another scene visit Gruga. Go see all the people Gruga wants you to see until Velhart learns a lesson. Head back to Digarta Wilds and win the battle to complete the job.
Note: No jobs become missable upon completion or when reporting this job. Do not accept job 86 though unless you have completed jobs 75, 79, 80 and 84, which should all be done if following the order here or on site. 86 is not a forced acceptance, so it can be ignored until all else is complete.
One Odd Agreement [5]
Complete Job 87 - Help the Indebted Family!
Accept this job at the Testa Guild and head to Pandira's inn. First there will be a scene involving Tosh, then head upstairs and go into the first room to find Pokkar and Amy. While discussing the job with them, Tosh decides to help Alec and joins. From there the job will direct on where to go. When asked about the agreement, any answer will suffice. From there you'll be directed to the Hell Plain for a battle. Tosh will be a required member of the fighting team here. Win the battle and the job is complete.
One Big Imposition [5]
Complete Job 88 - Stop the Impostor Swordsman
Accept this job at the Paltos Guild. Go to the area and into the first room in the left hallway. From there go ahead and leave and watch a scene. There is now a choice to head to Tolarka Ruins or Parute Desert. Which one is visited first doesn't matter. At the ruins there will be a scene and at the desert there will be a battle. The battle must be won to succeed and both scenes must be watch to completion to complete the job. Velhart is a required member for the battle.
In Their Dreams [1]
Complete Job 89 - Investigate the Mysterious Box
Accept this job at the Paltos Guild, head over to the Item Society, which is to the left of the Inn which is next to the guild. From there watch a very long and amusing cutscene and the job is a success. Towards the end there is a choice for Alec to make and the choice does not affect the outcome, just how Alec's part of the scene plays out. This job is impossible to fail other than by aborting it or progressing story before completing it.
The Weird Family Reunion [5]
Complete Job 91 - Traveling Guild Worker Escort.
Accept this job at the Gislem Guild and head to the Secret Path. Make sure to enter it on the North Sularto side. There will be a scene, then proceed further into the dungeon. Do not exit the dungeon before completing. A set of battles will happen with various bad effects on the party. Thankfully most are easy battles. Win all of them to succeed at the job.
Weirdly Frustrating [1]
Fail to complete Job 91 - Traveling Guild Worker Escort.
There are two ways to fail this job:
The short and easy method: Once you can control Alec again, try to exit the dungeon. When prompted confirm the intent to leave and say you are serious. This results in an amusing scene.
The longer but still not too hard method: Lose one of the battles. Easiest will be the first since HP is draining each turn. Next easiest would be the later ones that have some powerful enemies.
Eternal Rebirth [10]
Complete Job 86 - Get the Eternal Tree Branch.
Accept this job at the Renn Guild. Head to Vernica to get info from Hannah. Then head to the Great Scar. After this will be some back and forth to get Lieza and Poco's help. While looking for Poco make sure to speak to the bartender at the pub in Renn or else Poco won't be able to be found. A scene will happen and you'll gain access to the Sealed Ruins dungeon. Progress through the dungeon. When you get to the section with the moveable vines, make sure Alec always has a vine in hand to save some backtracking and possible extra battles. Defeat the boss and obtain the Eternal Tree branch to complete the job.
Note: Upon accepting the next story job, job 92, jobs 82 and 90 become unavailable. Job 90 only is available after completing job 86 and speaking with any guild worker. Speaking with the Guildmaster is fine, just do not accept job 92 until job 90 is completed.
A Bouquet of Love [10]
Complete Job 90 - What Kind of Present?
Do not accept job 92 before this has been completed or this will be missed!!! There is also something that must be done in this job to meet the conditions for something to happen in a later job. Accept this job in Gislem and head to the Weapon Society in Society Village. Speak with Dario. From there, you'll fight some battles. The first one just has to be won. In the second, you cannot defeat the Mandrake or you'll fail to get the flower.
After that, the party decides to get some more flowers. These can be done in any order. You will need to travel around the world to get to all the women, but once you speak with them, you'll be taken to the location to obtain it.
- Lieza - Select the options "trim excess leaves", "give it plenty of water" and "with some surrounding dirt" to get the flower
- Kulara - Win the battle within 3 turns. This shouldn't be a problem if you've been doing everything so far, even the high level enemies go down in a couple of hits.
- Raia - Check the flowers you see, eventually Alec will follow Raia's directions and get the flower. This one can't be messed up.
- Anrietta - Talk to her, get the flower. Easy as that. If you want to be able to get all achievements, give her the flower.
- Sania - Talk to her, pick any of the three flowers. Whatever you pick will be the correct flower.
For any characters besides Cheryl and Marsia, to give the flowers, talk to them again and opt to give the flower. Again, make sure to give Anrietta's to her to meet the conditions of a later achievement.
For Alec the Flower Boy all must be successfully obtained, but he can give flowers to any of the girls without affecting that achievement. He must have 3 or more remaining to complete the job. Once you have three or more, go back to Dario and give him the flowers for a scene and to complete the job. Feel free to give a couple away to any ladies you wish if you obtain more. Up to 4 can be given away if all are successfully obtained.
Not Enough Spice to Go Around [5]
Complete Job 93 - Eternal Love Final Confession.
Accept this job in the Itio Guild, then head to the Vacant House next to the guild (same one with the box pushing minigame earlier). Go upstairs to find Spicy. After a few cutscenes, there will be a box pushing minigame. This one is easier than the one in job 4. Go to the right and push the box sticking out from the bottom to the left. Then push the one above where it was up. Then push the box to your right further right and then the one below where that was down and you can get to the coin. When returning to Chuanna's house, it would be a good idea to save before going inside because the next section is tricky and having to do the first minigame again would be a pain.
After that, Spicy is tasked with getting a Star Fragment. You'll be taken to the Ruined City and of course the orphans want to get a Star Fragment for Kulara. Sucks that the party has to help Spicy instead of Kulara. But now it's time to do another minigame and the worst one ever. This one is even worse than job 55's Monk Misdirection minigame because the area is smaller and Spicy is even dumber than Kurt. Best way to pull this off seems to be to direct Spicy to the top, talk to the girl patrolling by there until Spicy moves towards the middle. Then walk over and distract the child on the top towards the right and hope Spicy's timing doesn't suck and he doesn't get spotted by the kid on the bottom right.
Saving after this is a good idea so that ninigame never has to be done again. Then head back to Chuanna's house and guess what, she now wants a Crystal Bone. This part isn't as bad though as long as your party didn't ignore healing after the last couple of jobs. For this one, Spicy already found the bone but got into some trouble. Defeat the monsters and save his worthless butt to finish up the job. You'll head back to Itio and finally find out what was really going on with this job.
Long Awaited Revenge [5]
Complete Job 94 - Monster Extermination in Cariote.
Accept this job at the Paltos Guild. Make sure that before doing so that you have no other jobs in progress except 92 since this job has to be started immediately and that could result in aborting others. From there Jay will enter the guild with an injury. Watch a few cutscenes and you'll be in Cariote Cave. Follow the trail of dead monsters and then a battle will start. The results of this battle don't matter, but any KOed party members will not be healed and will be at 1 HP for the next battle. Red Death will then appear and there will be some more scenes. Defeat Red Death to complete the job.
A New Beginning [5]
Complete Job 95 - RBG: The Last Encounter.
Accept this job at the Renn Guild and then head over to Astorny Bridge. There you'll meet up with Aguito for the final encounter. There will be one last battle with the Rainbow Bridge Gang and like previous encounters, they still are the same levels. Win the battle and the job is complete.
High Risk, Little Reward [5]
Complete Job 96 - Rochefort Company's New Product.
Accept this job at the Paltos Guild and then head over to the Rochefort Manor which is on the other side of the city. Alec and Anrietta will discuss the job. This time she wants Alec to fight a duel in the Danger Dome. It will be a 2 on 1 battle, but unlike most Danger Dome matches, the enemies are low level. If you've been doing everything and have decent equipment they will go down in a single hit each.
The game will say the job is completed after your win, but there are still some scenes left. This achievement was set to trigger once all job scenes are complete, which will be once Anrietta is safely home.
It's Just A Little Goz [3]
Fail to complete Job 96 - Rochefort Company's New Product.
This may be a bit tricky because the enemies are so weak and you have to use Alec. Before accepting the job, it would be a good idea to go fight some monsters to get Alec's HP down. Also equip him with weak armor. A spear may also be a good idea so he won't counter and accidentally win.
This achievement is set to unlock a bit after the game registers the fail intentionally. After that there is one more scene unique to this ending and the achievement will unlock once all scenes unique to this ending have been viewed.
The Ice Breaker [10]
Complete Job 92 - Get the Eternal Ice!
Accept this job at the Paysus Guild. Head to Amaidar Temple to get info on where to find the Eternal Ice. Go to the Ice Gallery and get to the depths and reach a wall that cannot be broken. This will lead to a new objective, find a way to break the wall. Head to Rusaht and speak with Salubari to learn about Giga Plasma. From there follow where the game advises to go and after some cutscenes and back and forth, Marsia will fight alone against the four elemental wizards. This will be a tricky battle, especially if you have not been using Marsia. Despite being wizards, they all have good defense so either decently powerful magic or bombs will be key to winning this. If using magic, you want to use their opposing element. Start by focusing on defeating the Water Wizard with Heat Shell because she can heal. After that, use Water Crumble since the Fire Wizard will have the most HP and the other two will go down in the process. Keep going until Marsia wins. After that she will fight the Light and Dark Wizard without any chance to heal or save. Physical attacks won't work on him at all, use magic or bombs. After you win, heal up and save and then head back to the Ice Gallery. You can now go straight to the Ice Wall. Do so, watch a scene and then there is one last boss battle. As if the previous battles weren't tricky enough, the Cliff Gigantor can easily wipe out weaker party members in a single attack. Keep everyone healed and keep attacking to win and obtain the Eternal Ice.
Note: Accepting the next story based job, job 98, will result in missing the following jobs if they have not yet been done: 72, 77, 80, 83, 85, 87, 94, and 96. Should not be an issue if all optional jobs are being done before proceeding in story but if you were holding off on Kutao Temple, get that done before accepting the next job.
Beat Them Down [5]
Complete Job 97 - Protect Raia During the Show!
Accept this job at the Itio Guild and head to the pub. Shantae explains what she needs Alec to do. This is a simple minigame to not let any of the men get to the stage, though it can be a bit tricky since they move at different speeds. While waiting, stay in the middle until you see which is moving fastest and head that way. If any get past, the job is failed.
Lighting the Way [10]
Complete Job 98 - Get the Eternal Flame!
Accept this job at the Testa Guild. First, you want to go to the Bazaar and talk to Chongara. Then head to Pandira to Ali's shop. After that, back to Testa. From there go to North Sularto to the cave at the bottom of the mountain. Go through the cave to the Lake of Fire. At this point Alec needs to figure out a way to get this to work, so head to Society Village next. Go to the Item and then Weapon Societies. At this point you'll find out you need a Calm Nut. Head to the Danger Dome and speak to the person on the right side. Then head to Kutao Temple and go to the room where the first hunter was found. Defeat the Dwarf Behemoths and get a Calm Nut. Head back to the Weapon Society and then the Item Society. From here go back to the Volcano Cave and you can go straight to the Lake of Fire. From here there will be a minigame to get Lutz to the top, do it with no retries to get Worthy of Trust. After that, the Eternal Flame is obtained and job complete.
Note: Upon reporting back to the Guildmaster, you will be forced to accept job 102. Upon doing so job 74 no longer can be done.
Winner! [5]
Complete Job 99 - Do the Monster Card Tournament!
Accept this job at the Renn Guild and then head to Renn's Monster Society. Theo will decide to do this and is given an option to study the monster book. It really doesn't help much so there is no need to. Theo must get every monster correct to complete this job.
The answers are as follows:
- Crimson Roc
- Gunner
- Litch
- Mage Hemo-ji
- Earth Dragon
Answer all of them correctly and Theo will be the sole winner and obtain a Card Trident which is a nice weapon for him. If one is incorrect he'll still get the weapon, but the job will be incomplete.
The Last Dance [3]
Complete Job 100 - Find the Missing Daughter! with the best possible variant by not losing the battle
with the bandits.
Accept this job at the Paltos Guild and head to the Rochefort Manor. Sebastian will explain what is going on. From there talk to people in Paltos to find out Anrietta went to Paysus. Head there to get a lead that she went to Amaidar Temple. Watch a cutscene and then head to the Spell Institute. After that you hit a wall and decide to go back to Rochefort Manor. At that point in Anrietta's room is someone who definitely doesn't belong there. Alec offers to return her home. After that, he'll head to the Ruined City. There will be an easy battle and then some choices to make.
If you failed or missed any of Anrietta's jobs or did not give her the flower in job 90, the choices don't matter. No matter what you say at the next choice she'll return home. If you have succeeded at all her jobs and gave her the flower then there are two ways to succeed at this. At the first question say that it will worry Sebastian. The other way is to pick "Are you serious?" and then refuse to let her join Alec.
Note: This job can still be completed despite losing against the bandits oddly enough, but it is a shorter version of the ending. Due to this, the achievement is set to require winning the battle and will not unlock if the battle was lost despite it technically being complete.
Adding to the Team [3]
Fail to complete Job 100 - Find the Missing Daughter!
This ending is only possible if you have completed all of Anrietta's jobs successfully and gave her the flower in job 90. If these conditions are not met, it is impossible to fail this job. Follow the steps above to find Anrietta. Then at the final choices pick "Are you serious?" and then allow her to join Alec. Alec will then take her to her home so she can tell Sebastian her decision to travel with Alec. With this, Anrietta is now a permanent addition to the party.
The Altimate Monster [5]
Complete Job 101 - Unleash the Ultimate Monster
In good news, this job cannot be failed outside of ignoring it or aborting it. Accept the job at the Gislem Guild and head to the Volcano Cave. You'll find Rupert the Explorer, remember him? Anyway, he wants the party to gather a bunch of monster cards, namely ones for powerful dragons. If you have some of these, then you save yourself a lot of time. If not, here's where to find the monsters:
Water Dragon: Ice Gallery (Jiharta) Fire Dragon: Volcano Cave (North Sularto) Earth Dragon: Trial Cave (Eteru Isle) Copper Dragon: Sealed Ruins (Forestamore) Gold Dragon: Midoro Swamp (Ragnark) Silver Dragon: White Bone Forest (Ragnark)
Equip Theo with the Card Trident you got from the monster card tournament to help with this. Make sure in the Trial Cave that you do not head to the room with the Ghost Dream Crystal or you'll finish up the final job. Theo's card inventory won't be able to hold all, but you can drop off any you get to Rupert as you obtain him and he will also be glad to give info on where to look for them. If you're having trouble, Lutz's Fatal Dagger is also very helpful since it can reduce the enemy's HP to 1 which gives the best chance to Cardish them.
After Rupert gets all the cards, watch a cutscene and the job is complete. After this you will be able to encounter Altimas in various areas, including the Sky Castle.
A New Hero and a Bright Future [10]
Complete Job 102 - Create a New Ark!
Upon reporting back to the Guildmaster in Paltos after completing job 98 you will be forced to accept this job. Head to Eteru Isle and enter the Trial Cave. Head to the Ghost Dream Crystal just like you did in job 1. There will be a cutscene and then the job is complete.
Note: Upon completing this job, any optional jobs that have not yet been completed will no longer be able to be done. All that remains is the final dungeon, the Sky Castle.
Going to the Sky Castle is a point of no return. You will have access to a shop, all societies and even a Guild to get any bounties you may not have obtained. Make sure you have completed everything you need to since you no longer will be able to hunt wanted monsters or any monsters not in the Sky Castle. Some monsters are only available in the Sky Castle, so you won't finish up the Monster Society book, but you will have all items except Elc's equipment in the Weapon Society book and the Item Society book can be completed. Since the Casino, Danger Dome, and Bazaar are good sources for synthesis materials, it is recommended to finish up synthesis before heading there.
