2) Introduction

Hello, and welcome to the RA guide to the achievement set for Arabian Nights: Sabaku no Seirei Ou, otherwise known as Arabian Nights: Desert Spirit King!

This is a fan-translated JRPG, and the English patch can be found here on the RA patch repository. However, the original Japanese version works as well!

Arabian Nights has a really good synopsis on its romhacking.net translation patch page by LostTemplar, a member of the translation patch team, so I am going to quote it here:

Arabian Nights (AN) is a Japan-exclusive RPG for the Super Famicom, developed by a small studio called Pandora Box. The game was published in 1996 by Takara and features, as the name strongly suggests, an all-Arabian theme revolving around Djinns.

Once upon a time, Shukran, a young, good-natured girl who lost her parents, finds a special ring lying on the ground. As it soon turns out the ring actually houses Ifrit, the King of the Djinns. He has been sealed away by his former master just before his demise, because hot-tempered Ifrit would have gone after his master’s murderer even in spite of his own insufficient strength. However, if Ifrit accomplishes fulfilling a thousand wishes, he will again be a free man, or rather Djinn. As coincidence may, Shukran’s wish will actually be the 1000th, however - altruistic as she is - the young woman wants Ifrit to bring peace upon the world! Thus, the two embark on their quest to make that wish come true together, as Ifrit can’t stray from his new master’s side.

The game itself is extraordinarily charming, boasting beautiful graphics and sympathetic characters. However, probably due to the fact that the small developer was publishing many games simultaneously around that time, and that the console neared the end of its life span, AN most likely was very rushed at the end. That’s why a lot of aspects of the game feel unfinished; had the developers had enough time, it could easily have become one of the console’s greatest classics.

It is a relatively short RPG that has a linear first half and a more open-world second half, and features a card system in battle that can grant bonuses to the party or to enemies. It is graphically impressive and boasts a nice soundtrack, but it's also notorious for its high encounter rate. Thankfully, one of the main characters learns an instant escape skill at level 19!

This is not meant to be a step-by-step guide for Arabian Nights, as the GameFAQs guide by ritchie is sufficient for navigating dungeons. However, the guide is missing some information, and there's not much information available for the game in English in general.

The set and guide are both created by yours truly, a humble bat by the name of dorakii. Please feel free to pass on any comments, questions, or concerns that you may have about the achievement set or guide!

Very Important Note About Anti-cheat Logic

The achievement coding for Arabian Nights has very strict anti-cheat logic in it. Please note that many of the dungeon-related progression achievements are meant to be completed in one session. That is, once the party enters the dungeon, the dungeon must be completed without using a save point inside of the dungeon to load a save. This will also be mentioned throughout the guide as a continual reminder.

For dungeons that have a boss challenge, it is recommended to:

  • Make a save at the save spot in the dungeon closest to the boss battle
  • Attempt the boss challenge
  • Finish out the dungeon until the dungeon progression achievement pops regardless if the boss challenge attempt was successful or not.

If the boss challenge attempt was not successful:

  • Finish out the dungeon until the dungeon progression achievement pops
  • Return to a save point (or leave the dungeon) and save the game in a different slot for loading from later
  • Reload the save right before the boss in order to try again
  • Once the boss challenge achievement has been earned, reload the save from after earning the dungeon progression achievement and continue on.

The game has 3 save slots, so please use them as needed.

Note: Graphical Bug

Just so you know, there is a little bit of a graphical bug that occurs sometimes when transitioning into battle. It is not an issue. Quoting LostTemplar again:

Very seldomly the animation of the transition to the battle screen (the "whirl") is bugged and displays random content of the VRAM (mostly numbers). This bug is part of the original, appears very sporadically and seems unreproducible.

3) Walkthrough

Step 1: Beginning through Ancient Temple Achievements

I have chosen to list the Progression, boss, challenge, treasure, and sidequest achievements for this guide in the order that they would be encountered for ease of use and to ensure everything will be earned in an optimal manner.

Step 1 covers the beginning of the game through clearing the Ancient Temple and receiving the Magic Carpet. This portion of the game is very linear.

These 17 achievements include:

  • 5 Progression achievements
  • 5 missable boss challenge achievements
  • 1 missable early ending boss challenge achievement
  • 1 missable non-boss challenge achievement
  • 3 treasure collection achievements
  • 2 sidequest achievements

Step 2: Wadi Village through Silver Crystal Achievements

This step covers the events in Wadi Village and Bardo's Labyrinth through obtaining the Silver Crystal. The achievements are listed in the order that the game leads the player into accomplishing them in, but after clearing Bardo's Labyrinth the remaining achievements can be earned in any order.

These 17 achievements include:

  • 5 Progression achievements
  • 2 missable boss challenge achievements
  • 1 missable early ending boss challenge achievement
  • 2 missable non-boss challenge achievements
  • 1 missable treasure collection achievement
  • 6 sidequest achievements

Step 3: Djinn Recruitment Achievements

This step covers the 5 Djinn recruitment events and obtaining an item to finish a later recruitment properly. Here is where the game becomes more open-world, and so these achievements can be tackled in any order, but the one listed is the most optimal. The Progression achievement listed here needs to be completed after recruiting all of the Djinn (except in one certain circumstance)!

These 11 achievements include:

  • 1 Progression achievement
  • 6 missable Djinn recruitment achievements
  • 2 missable boss challenge achievements
  • 1 missable early ending boss challenge achievement
  • 1 treasure collection achievement

Step 4: Endgame Achievements

This step covers the end of the game. This section begins with sidequest cleanup, then goes back to being linear.

These 14 achievements include:

Step 5: Card-related Achievements

These 7 achievements are related to the card system used in battle. Some of them may trigger while playing through the game normally, but strategies are listed for achievements that might need some setting up in order to accomplish.

4) Tips and Tricks

The Card System

The card system is the most unique feature of Arabian Nights's battle system. Here are some tips for utilizing it to the fullest.

  • Cards come in 9 elements: Fire, Water, Earth, Wind, Light, Dark, Steel, Wood, and Moon.
  • Cards come in 6 levels of strength, from 0 (strongest) to 5 (weakest).
  • Card effects last for 3 turns before wearing off.
  • The party will win 1 card at the end of each battle as long as they have 15 or fewer cards in stock.
  • Each element has at least 2 special abilities. These are usually split up between the 1/3/5 and 2/4 cards.
    • Fire: Raises the attack of the party with the card in play or deals damage.
    • Water: Heals a little MP to the party with the card in play or deals damage.
    • Earth: Raises the defense of the party with the card in play or deals damage.
    • Wind: Raises the agility of the party with the card in play or deals damage.
    • Dark: Raises the evasion of the party with the card in play or deals damage.
    • Light: Light 1 raises magic attack power, Light 3 guarantees critical hits, and Light 5 nullifies special moves. Light 2/4 deal damage.
    • Steel: Steals money from the enemy party or deals damage.
    • Wood: Heals a little HP of the party with the card in play or deals damage.
    • Moon: Moon 1 nullifies enemy magic attacks, Moon 3 nullifies enemy physical attacks, and Moon 5 nullifies a card in play. Moon 2/4 deal damage.
    • Level 0 cards activate both abilities at the same time, so they both boost stats and do a lot of damage.
      • In the case of Light and Moon, their level 1 abilities are activated.
  • An important point to note is that every effect's damage or healing is done on a percentage scale.
    • The more HP an enemy or party member currently has, the more damage will be done from a card's damage effect.
      • Neither enemies nor party members should faint from card damage effects unless they are at 1 HP at the end of the turn.
    • Likewise, the fewer remaining HP/MP an enemy or party member has, the more healing will be done by a Wood/Water card's healing effect.
    • Level 0 cards are very powerful and override the percentage scale, so beware!
  • Higher-leveled cards are weaker in effect power than lower-leveled ones, but higher-leveled cards have higher play priority than lower-leveled cards.
    • A Fire 5 card will do less damage than a Water 4 card even if the enemy has the same amount of current HP.
    • A level 5 card can be played when any other level of card is in play, though a level 4 card can only be played if the other card in play is level 4 or lower.
    • Level 0 cards have the highest play priority, but can be overridden on the next turn by any card.
  • If the party and enemy play the same level card at the beginning of the turn, they cancel each other out.
    • Additionally, the card currently in play can be cancelled out for both sides by playing the same card.
  • Cards that are worth holding on to are Light 3 for guaranteed critical hits, Moon 3 for nullifying enemy physical attacks, and Wood 2/4 for healing.
    • Steel 2/4 might seem useful as they steal money from enemies, but most of the time the results are too small to even bother.

Magic and Skills

Each character has a different non-attack ability:

  • Shukran can summon Djinn once they are recruited.
    • Djinn have 2 different abilities. One is a regular attack, and the other is an elemental attack or special skill.
      • The Djinn with special skills are Miche-Miche (heal) and Fidda (attack boost buff).
    • Which ability the Djinn uses each turn is random, so Miche-Miche's healing skill isn't guaranteed to be used.
    • Summons are only available for 3 turns at a time.
  • Ifrit can use magic through gaining Magic Crystals. This magic is purely element-based and damage-dealing.
  • Harty's skills, learned through leveling up, are very useful, especially the buffs and debuffs against bosses.
    • He learns Escape at level 19, which will hopefully cut down on how annoying the random encounters tend to be.
Harty's skill list: Blowgun (lv.6): Poisons an enemy.
Sleep Sand (lv.9): Puts an enemy to sleep.
Smoke Bomb (lv.11): Lowers an enemy's hit rate.
Lower Defense (lv.14): Lowers an enemy's defense.
Pilfer (lv.16): Steals an item.
Escape (lv.19): Allows instant escape from battle.
Confuse (lv.20): Confuses an enemy.
Sandman (lv.23): Puts enemies to sleep.
Steal (lv.25): Steals a card.
Weapon Steal (lv.28): Lowers enemies' attacks.
Shadow Stitch (lv.29): Binds an enemy.
Hint (lv.31): Raises ally's evade rate.
Psych Out (lv.34): Silences enemies.
Who? (lv.37): Confuses enemies.
Limit Drop (lv.40): Lowers enemies' stats.
Pressure Point (lv.44): Instantly defeats an enemy.

A Note on Healing

In Arabian Nights, items are the only way to receive guaranteed, good healing during battle. Wood cards are only useful if the party has low health, and Miche-Miche may decide to attack every turn that she's summoned. Furthermore, both card and Djinn healing happen at the end of the turn. So, make sure to stock up on Herb Leaves (+200 HP) and Herb Seeds (+700 HP)!

Outside of battle, the party can receive free healing in Bazaar Town by resting at Shukran's house, and in Wadi Village after completing the Mt. Tonpei sidequest. Of course, inns in any town can be used, but for a fee. Save spots in dungeons look like green glowing balls of light and fully heal the party when interacted with.

Step 1: Beginning through Ancient Temple Achievements | Total points: 99

Bazaar Town

It's Not Much, But... [2]
In Bazaar Town, speak with Shukran's uncle and accept a teeny tiny gift.

This sidequest is available from the very beginning of the game, and is not missable.

Treasure: There are 3 treasures in Bazaar Town that need to be found for A Beginning Adventurer's Supplies, Mostly. 1 is a hidden item not in a treasure chest. (3/13)

Locations: 1. In the building directly to the right of Shukran's house, there is a hidden pathway to a treasure chest along the upper right edge of the house. It is in the bedroom and goes across to some stairs. The chest is at the bottom of the stairs. (Mountain Tree)
2. In the building to the left of the weapon shop (south of Shukran's house), there is a hidden treasure in the bedroom between the bookcase and the left bed. It is in the nook to the right of the man. (50 Tams)
3. In the first building on the left that is directly south of the town's eastern exit, there is a hidden pathway to a treasure chest along the upper right edge of the house. It also goes across to some stairs. (disappointment)

Remember to equip both party members before leaving Bazaar Town, and leveling to at least level 2 before heading to the South Desert is also recommended.

South Desert

Dear Diary, Today We Squished a Spider [5]
In one session, explore the South Desert and defeat the Sand Spider.

In One Session Alert!

Once the party enters the South Desert, they must defeat the Sand Spider without loading a save made in the South Desert.

One Small Step for Peace [5]
Defeat the Sand Spider with Shukran and Ifrit at level 5 or lower and without anyone fainting.

Missable!

It is recommended to make a save at the heal/save spot inside the cave just in case this challenge needs to be attempted again, as the progression achievement will activate immediately after finishing the battle. Make sure to use a damaging card to knock off a percentage of the Spider's health each turn.

Treasure: There are 7 treasures in South Desert that need to be found for A Beginning Adventurer's Supplies, Mostly. 3 are outside the cave and 4 are inside. (10/13)

Locations: 1. In the upper portion of the desert outside the cave. (Herb Leaf)
2. In a slightly hidden rocky alcove on the left side of the desert outside the cave. (Herb Leaf)
3. Take the sandy path south from the rocky alcove and follow it to the last chest outside the cave. (Apricot)
4. In the extreme northeastern corner of the cave's ground floor. (100 Tams)
5. At the end of the bottom left path of the cave's ground floor. (Apricot)
6. Go south upon entering the cave's underground floor. (Herb Seed)
7. Continue along the path, and there will be a chest in the extreme southeastern corner of the cave. (Feather Cloak)

North Mansion (Mini Palace)

The North Mansion will be known as the Mini Palace after the dungeon is completed.

Note: Make sure to unlock A Beginning Adventurer's Supplies, Mostly before heading into the northmost room of the Mansion and beginning the plot event that leads to the Lion battle. If it isn't, you will also be locked out of No Treasure Is Safe From Me! later.

Thick As Thieves [5]
Defeat the Lion in the North Mansion and make a new friend.
More Savage Than a Lion [5]
Defeat the Lion within 3 turns and without anyone fainting.

Missable!

The Lion is purely a physical attacker. Remember to use damaging cards to knock off percentages of its health each turn, and keep an eye on the party's health. There is no save point before fighting the Lion, so save on the overworld outside of the North Mansion before entering.

A Beginning Adventurer's Supplies, Mostly [5]
Find 3 treasures in Bazaar Town, 7 treasures in the South Desert, and 3 treasures in the North Mansion. The North Mansion can only be visited once.

Missable!

There are 3 treasures in the North Mansion (1 treasure outside and 2 inside) that need to be found in order to complete this achievement. Again, if this achievement isn't unlocked, it will be missed and another treasure achievement later on will be unfinishable.

Locations: 1. A treasure chest is hidden behind the leftmost palm tree's leaves outside of the Mansion. (250 Tams)
2. In the room to the west of the entrance hall, there is a hidden passage on the right side of the hall before the northern exit. A treasure chest rests within. (Sleep Flower)
3. On your way back from the Sleep Flower chest, take 1 step into where the hidden path goes through the wall. Go down 2 steps through the wall. Then go to the right until the party stops. Go up 3 steps, then to the left to find a hidden-away treasure chest. (500 Tams)

Northeast Town

A Gaggle of Goons [5]
In Northeast Town, defeat 3 of the 4 Cultists in the same turn. This will not trigger if Auto is used in battle.

Missable!

This challenge revolves around using damage cards and knowing that they take off a percentage of HP each turn. Pay attention to when the card damage for 3 of the Cultists' HP is pretty small and use the next turn to defeat them. Make sure to make a mental note of how many times the party can attack or use magic on one Cultist before it's time to land the finishing blow. You will need this information for the next achievement! Of course, critical hits and misses may mess things up, so make sure to save either at the Northeast Town inn or in the overworld outside of town before triggering the event in town that leads to this battle.

A little extra help: The Cultists have 1,101 HP each.

Treasure: There are 3 treasures in Northeast Town that need to be found for Collecting Cult Curios. 1 is a hidden item not in a treasure chest. (3/10)

Locations: 1. Enter the very first door you see upon entering town, to the house north of the well, and enter the hidden passage on the right side of the bedroom that leads to stairs and a little room. The treasure chest is hidden by the walls of the room, but walk into the lower left corner and the chest will be opened. (Battle Knuckles)
2. Leave that house and walk to the right until the party is in front of the weapon shop. The house to the south has another bedroom secret passage with a hidden chest, with the chest being in the lower right corner this time. (Feather Boots)
3. Leave that house and walk up past the weapon shop until the party is in front of the item shop. The house to the right has a hidden item in the pot directly behind the table that a man is sitting at. (Thieves' Leather)

Cult Hideout

Second Verse, Close To the First [5]
At the Cult Hideout entrance, defeat 3 of the 4 Cultists in the same turn without the party using any cards. This will not trigger if Auto is used in battle.

Missable!

This challenge is meant to build off of the previous one. These Cultists have the same amount of HP as the others did. Just like last time, critical hits and misses may affect the outcome, so make sure to save on the overworld outside of the Cult Hideout.

Dear Diary, Today We Met a Tool [5]
In one session, defeat the Cultists at the Cult Hideout, rescue both sets of hostages, and meet the cult leader.

In One Session Alert!

This progression achievement is unearnable if a save is made and loaded after defeating the Cultists at the entrance to the Cult Hideout, no matter where the save is made.

In order to rescue both sets of hostages, a hidden Prison Key must be found on the ground near the staircase to the prison area. The only indication is a dialogue box that appears once the party steps on the correct floor tile. Check the vertical row of floor that is one tile to the right of the stairs.

Collecting Cult Curios [5]
Find 3 treasures in Northeast Town and 7 treasures in the Cult Hideout.

There are 7 treasures in the Cult Hideout that need to be found in order to complete this achievement. 1 is the hidden Prison Key mentioned above.

Locations: 1-3. Take the stairs found on the left or right side of the main entrance down to B1. All 3 rooms in this area have a treasure chest. (Herb Leaf, Herb Seed, Poison)
4. Return to the main floor and head north. Instead of going up the middle staircase once you see it, take a left or right and go up one of the sets of stairs in the upper corners of the room. Head towards the middle of the floor, where there's a throne room. The room to the left of the throne room has a treasure chest. (Stall)
5. Return to the main floor and take the door at the top of the middle staircase. There is a treasure chest straight ahead from the entrance. (White Scarf)
6. In that room, take the upper right staircase down and walk along the vertical row of floor that is one tile to the right of the stairs to find the hidden Prison Key.
7. Further into the Hideout, there will be a room with a red carpet, 4 candlesticks, and two sets of stairs on the left and right. Take the left stairs and a treasure chest is to the south. (Boots)

Mt. Elyrita

An Accelerated Ascent [5]
Climb Mt. Elyrita and defeat the Roc within 6 in-game minutes. Resets upon leaving Mt. Elyrita.

Missable!

  • Mt. Elyrita is a straight-forward upwards climb with two (encounter-free!) caves to travel through. Begin by heading to the right upon entering the area -- there's nothing to the left.
  • I would recommend running away from any enemy groups with 3/4+ enemies. Skipping treasure chests is also okay if crunched for time.
  • The Roc isn't particularly difficult, but it is immune to Wind damage. Wind cards and Ifrit's magic will not hurt it.
  • Remember to save on the overworld outside of Mt. Elyrita before attempting the challenge.
Dear Diary, Today I Became a Mother [5]
In one session, climb Mt. Elyrita, defeat the Roc, and discover what it left behind.

In One Session Alert!

There are two discoveries to be made before the achievement will trigger. Do not load a save from the heal/save spot inside Mt. Elyrita.

Treasure: There are 5 treasures on Mt. Elyrita that need to be found for Treasures High and Low. 2 are found on the climb up, and 3 are inside the mountain. (5/12)

Locations: 1. There's a chest to the right of the first cave entrance. (Rose)
2. After exiting the second cave, head to the right to find a chest past the stairs. (Cat o' Nine Tails)
3. Inside the mountain, there's a chest in the lower right corner of the cave. (Mint Leaf)
4. After watching the cutscene in the lower left corner of the cave, return to the area and walk straight to the left of the pebble to find a hidden path. Head up and a chest will be on the left. (Sleep Flower)
5. Continue heading up in the hidden path until you can't go any further. Zig-zag your way to the right to find another treasure chest. (Knuckle Storm)

Assam Village

It's a Harty Party! [2]
In Assam Village, visit Harty's house and receive a gift. Missable if the offer is declined.

Missable!

Note the achievement's description.

Ancient Temple

Before going too far into the Ancient Temple, I would recommend training the party to level 20 (Harty can squeak by at 19). There is a heal/save spot close to the entrance to the Temple that will make training easier. To find it:

  • Take a left in the third room, a long hallway with lots of lit candles, and go through the door at the end.
  • At the next north/south intersection, go down and through the door.
  • At the bottom of that large room is the heal/save spot.

I would also recommend stocking up on Herb Seeds and some Apricots in Northeast Town, making sure you have a Mint Seed or two, and having 6+ level 5 cards (especially damaging ones) in stock.

This should prepare the party for the most difficult achievement in the game, one that must be completed before finishing the Ancient Temple dungeon...

An Efficient Adventure [25]
In the Cult Hideout, defeat Majnun in battle and see the extra early ending. This must be done after meeting him the first time and before rescuing Zeitoon in the Ancient Temple.

Missable!

The party must return to the throne room in the Cult Hideout to begin the battle. Make sure to save on the overworld outside of the Cult Hideout, because there is a very good chance that RNG will not play nice. This is a secret battle, so it's meant to be difficult. Good luck!

My strategy:Each turn, play a level 5 card, because Majnun will use a card every turn if he doesn't already have one in play. Your level 5 card will beat out any of his level 1-4 cards, and will cancel out a level 5 card if he plays one. Plus if it's a damaging card, he'll lose a percentage of HP at the end of the turn, which is extremely helpful at the beginning of the fight.

• Shukran should be on healing duty after the first turn. Keep Ifrit topped off as best as possible. She will be the last character to move each turn, though, so keep that in mind.

• Ifrit should be on magic duty. His spells seem to do roughly the same amount of damage, so pick whichever.

• Harty needs to use his debuffs. First turn should be Smoke Bomb, in case Majnun chooses to use a physical attack. Second turn should be Lower Defense. Then he can alternate between attacking and healing.

• Majnun's worst attack is a multi-target beam of light attack that does ~1,200-1,300 damage to each party member. At level 20, everyone should be able to survive if they were at full health. Prioritize keeping Ifrit healed, because he will do the most damage with his magic. Also keep an eye on his MP and use a Mint Leaf or Seed when necessary.

• If Shukran faints, it may be best to focus on keeping Ifrit healed over reviving her, especially if the battle is almost over.

• If all goes well, the battle should end about two turns after Ifrit's MP needs to be restored. Majnun has 21,212 HP.

Back to the Ancient Temple...

Naked and Not Afraid [5]
Defeat the Scorpion Man and Sand Spider in the Ancient Temple with no equipment equipped on any party member and without anyone fainting.

Missable!

Helpfully, there is a save spot right before the boss room. If the challenge is failed, remember to earn Freeing the Wind first before reloading the save.

Freeing the Wind [5]
In one session, explore the Ancient Temple and rescue Zeitoon of Wind.

In One Session Alert!

Treasures High and Low [5]
Find 5 treasures on Mt. Elyrita and 9 treasures in the Ancient Temple.

The final 9 treasure chests for this achievement are in the Ancient Temple. This is the dungeon with the most treasures in it, by the way.

Locations: 1. Beginning from the long candlelit hallway near the entrance, go through the west exit. There will be a small nook directly to the south upon entering the new room. Follow the hidden path down, left, down, and right to find a chest. (Ring Mail)
2. Return to the long hallway and go through the east exit this time. Another small nook will be directly to the south upon entering the room. This one's hidden path is more difficult, but it boils down to: down 1 step, right 1 step, down 2 steps, right 2 steps, down until you can't go any further, then left until you enter the room with the chest. (Mint Seed)
3. There is an obvious chest on the way to the stairs to the second floor. (Herb Leaf)
4. Once in the first large room on 2F, take the northwest door and follow the path to find a chest. (Mint Seed)
5. From that same large room, take the northeast door and follow the path to find a chest. (Herb Seed)
6. Again, from that same large room, take the southeast door and the path to the right to find a chest. (Lapis Lazuli)
7-8. In Zeitoon's room, there are two treasure chests, one on the left and one on the right, near the entrance. Utilize the hidden paths to access them. (Chainmail, Blade Knuckles)
9. There is a chest to the right of Zeitoon. (Cyan Scarf)

Step 2: Wadi Village through Silver Crystal Achievements | Total points: 67

Zeitoon gives the party a Magic Carpet, which hastens overworld movement and prevents random encounters. This is a good time to do a little bit of backtracking for sidequests:

Bazaar Town

A Forever Grateful Niece [2]
After rescuing Zeitoon, speak with Shukran's uncle in Bazaar Town and show him a little kindness.

After this point in the game, the event for It's Not Much, But... receives a new response option. Both achievements can be earned depending on which option is picked.

We Must Be Trippin' [2]
After rescuing Zeitoon, spend the night in Bazaar Town's inn and have a weird dream.

Northeast Town

Ultra Hyper Rare Card Secrets!! [5]
After rescuing Zeitoon, speak with the man on Northeast Town's wall and fulfill all of his requests.

The man asks to see Earth 1-5 cards in order. Bring them all to him and he will tell you how to create Level 0 cards. This event must be completed before Ultra Hyper Rare Card Pull!! can be obtained.

Cult Hideout

The Incorrect Path [10]
In the Cult Hideout, defeat Majnun in battle and see the early ending. This must be done after rescuing Zeitoon but before meeting Lyrah Lyle in the Silver Shrine.

Missable!

Another early ending opens up after clearing the Ancient Temple. The time limit for this achievement is much more generous -- though it is available now, it doesn't need to be completed until the end of walkthrough step 3. The earlier it is tackled, the more challenging the boss battle will be, and vice versa. As always, save outside of the Cult Hideout and hope for the best.

Mt. Elyrita

Hitchin' a Ride On My Baby [5]
In one session, climb Mt. Elyrita and feed the baby Roc until it grows up.

In One Session Alert!

This achievement can be obtained at any time after meeting the baby Roc, but it isn't necessary until after obtaining the Silver Crystal. The Roc needs to be fed items with a certain amount of value before it will grow up. Expensive equipment will do the trick in the least amount of time.

The "in one session" is only asking that you do not save and load from the heal/save spot inside of Mt. Elyrita. The baby Roc does not need to be fed completely in one visit.

Egypt Town

This is also a good time to find Egypt Town, an optional location that's as far south on the continent as the party can go with the Magic Carpet.

Brothers of the Bureaucrat [3]
In one session, find both of Abdul's brothers and speak to them.

In One Session Alert!

Where are they? One's in a street in the south portion of Egypt Town and the other is in a house in Assam Village.
Help the Poor, Feel Better [5]
Donate Tams to the woman in the Egypt Town inn.

Unlike the other donation sidequests, the party will pay the full 3,000 Tams in one go, but it is not missable if you do not have the money now. Furthermore, this event is repeatable. If you are playing the Japanese version of the game, the event is sadly bugged and the party won't receive anything, but the achievement will still be rewarded.

Treasure: There are 5 hidden treasures in Egypt Town that need to be found for No Treasure Is Safe From Me!. 3 of these treasures aren't mentioned in ritchie's FAQ, and they can all be found in the semi-hidden house in the lower left corner of the town. (5/13)

Locations: 1-3. Immediately upon entering town, there is an alleyway to the south that has a red and purple cloth hanging above it. Follow that alleyway until the party enters a house. As the girl inside says, each jar has an item in it. (Mint Extract, Orrin Root, 300 Tams)
4. Find the well in the center of town. Go a little further to the right until you are below a house's door. You will see a narrow alleyway between two houses to the south. Head down that alley and to the left. There is a hidden item at the bottom tile of the wall separating this alley from the one by the weapon shop, right above the town's outer wall. How the developers expected anyone to find this without using a guide is a mystery. (Street Clothes)
5. Go into the house in that alley, the one that has Abdullah running around in front of it. There is a hidden item in the nook between the two beds in the bedroom. (Chinese Dress)

Riyadh Village

Back to the plot. Riyadh Village is to the northeast of the Ancient Temple.

Treasure: There is 1 treasure in Riyadh Village that needs to be found for Mind Maze, Real Treasures. (1/10)

Location: 1. A chest is in the upper right corner of the town. (Mint Extract)

Wadi Village

Note: The plot forces a dungeon on the party shortly after entering Wadi Village, and its heal/save spot is near the end of the dungeon. I would recommend stocking up on healing items before entering the village.

Down to Duel [5]
Defeat Bardo in Wadi Village while only using physical attacks and items and without anyone fainting. No magic, skills, or cards allowed.

Missable!

Don't forget to save on the overworld outside of Wadi Village first. Bardo uses physical attacks, Steel magic, and Steel cards, so keep an eye on the party's HP.

Bardo's Labyrinth

Until the party reaches the heal/save spot on 4F, it is recommended to run away from Lamia if encountered in a random battle, or use magic on them. See below for details.

My, It Sure Is Crowded In Here [3]
In one session, defeat Bardo and find the inhabitants of Wadi Village.

In One Session Alert!

There is a heal/save spot in the room where the villagers are. It is okay to save and load from that spot. Please do so! Especially before attempting the next achievement...

I Risked My Life and All I Got Was This Silly Achievement [5]
In Bardo's Labyrinth, defeat 2 Lamia in the same battle without using Shukran's or Ifrit's magic. Missable after exiting the dungeon. Lamia defeated in the Fortress will not count.

Missable!

  • Lamia are unique and dangerous enemies. They have 2 HP, are immune to physical damage, and they are capable of an attack that, if used by multiple Lamia in a row, could wipe out the party.
  • The only way to damage them is to play damaging cards (Fire does 2 damage instead of just 1 per turn) or use Harty's Blowgun skill to poison them.
  • It's recommended to save at the heal/save spot first before attempting this achievement, just in case the Lamia choose to use their strong attack twice.
  • It's also recommended to earn this achievement now before talking to the village elder and beginning the next part of the dungeon.
Dear Diary, Today We Were Lost In a Thought [2]
In one session, speak to the elder of Wadi Village and rescue the villagers from Bardo's Labyrinth.

In One Session Alert!

Again, ensure you have earned I Risked My Life and All I Got Was This Silly Achievement before moving forwards.

Once the party heads upstairs, this achievement becomes a true "in one session" achievement, so don't save and reload after that. Thankfully this section of the dungeon isn't nearly as long.

Treasure: There are 7 missable treasures in Bardo's Labyrinth that need to be found for Mind Maze, Real Treasures. (8/10)

Locations: This dungeon has a lot of hidden paths that lead to treasure. When I just list "left," "right," "up," or "down" without any specific number of steps, that means to go in that direction until the party cannot move any further.

1. On 2F, there are 2 unlit candlesticks near the stairs from 1F. Light the right one and go south through the newly-opened door. Follow the path to another unlit candlestick. Light the candle from the bottom, then walk to the left through a column to a hidden path. Walk left, down 2 steps, left, down, left, up 1 step, left, down, right, down, right, down, and left until the party runs into a treasure chest. (Mint Extract)
2. Back at the 2 unlit candlesticks, light the left one and go north through the newly-opened door. Find the room with the stairs to 3F. There is a hidden path visible at the bottom right corner of the room. Go right, down, right and the party will be in a room with a treasure chest. (Crystal Coral)
3-4. Head back out of the hidden path, but don't go anywhere. We're heading back in for what is the longest hidden path maze of the game. From the tile before the party disappears into the darkness, take 2 steps right, up, 1 step right, up, right, down, right, down, right, up, left, up, left, up, right, down, right into a room with two treasure chests. (Toy Hammer, Herb Extract)
5. On 3F, head to the right from the 2F stairs and down and around to find a treasure chest. (Rose)
6. On 4F, there is a treasure chest in the upper right corner of the map. (Venom Whip)
7. On 5F, there is a treasure chest in a room that's in the top center of the map. It is the room to the right of the exit. (Muskal)

Mt. Tonpei

A Hostage Situation [5]
After visiting the Wadi Village Inn, confront the thieves on Mt. Tonpei to get the money and the girl back.

This plotline is technically a sidequest that begins in Wadi Village's inn. There are no heal/save spots on Mt. Tonpei.

Mind Maze, Real Treasures [5]
Find 1 treasure in Riyadh Village, 7 treasures in Bardo's Labyrinth, and 2 treasures on Mt. Tonpei. Bardo's Labyrinth can only be visited once.

The final 2 treasure chests for this achievement are on Mt. Tonpei.

Locations: 1. Pass the first set of stairs and enter the cave that's further on to the left. A treasure chest is in the back. (Thief's Clothes)
2. After the events in the cave at the top of the mountain, re-enter the cave and head all the way to the left. There's a chest that you probably saw during the cutscene. (Goddess Tear)

Desert Dwellers' Camp & Quicksand Cave

Note: Before entering the Desert Dwellers' Camp for the first time, there will be a cutscene. Choose to save Jambia of Earth's life to complete the first part of Two Good Deeds Deserve a Third. Choose incorrectly and the achievement cannot be triggered, and you'll lock yourself out of the good ending.

I Can Do This By Myself! [5]
Reach the Water Crystal in Quicksand Cave within 80 steps. Resets upon leaving the cave.

Missable!

The Water Crystal is in the lower left portion of the cave, at the top of a large stone structure. Any steps taken into a wall will not count towards the 80 step total.

Treasure: There is 1 hidden treasure in the Desert Dwellers' Camp that needs to be found for No Treasure Is Safe From Me!. However, it cannot be obtained until after finishing the trial in Quicksand Cave. (6/13)

Location: 1. It's in the pot inside Qatar's tent. (Cute Outfit)

Mt. Badiya

We Are Stronger Because We Cheat [5]
Defeat Manticore on Mt. Badiya after lowering 3 of its stats with Harty's skills, and without using cards or anyone fainting.

Missable!

You must tell the Manticore that the party is stronger, or it will ask for a Goddess Tear. Giving away the Goddess Tear (found in Mt. Tonpei) will lock you out of Loved By the Nobility and A Shukran For Every Occasion!

Harty must be level 28 before this achievement can be attempted. He will need to use Smoke Bomb, Lower Defense, and Weapon Steal. If he needs more levels, it's okay to begin some of the Djinn recruitment tasks first. Mt. Tonpei is also a decent place to level up, with free healing in Wadi Village to the north as long as A Hostage Situation has been completed.

The closest opportunity to save is on the overworld outside of Mt. Badiya, but do not save and reload after defeating the Manticore, else you won't be able to unlock the next achievement.

Treasure: There is 1 treasure chest on Mt. Badiya that needs to be found for No Treasure Is Safe From Me!. (7/13)

Location: 1. Go to the right upon entering the mountain and a treasure chest lies at the end of a cave path. (Herb Seed)

Oasis

Dear Diary, Today We Stopped a Drought [5]
In one session, defeat the Manticore on Mt. Badiya and report back to the Oasis.

In One Session Alert!

You must not save and load the game after entering Mt. Badiya and defeating the Manticore. Please wait to do that after returning to the Oasis and seeing the cutscenes.

Treasure: There is 1 hidden item in the Oasis that needs to be found for No Treasure Is Safe From Me! (and to continue the plot). (8/13)

Location: 1. After earning the above achievement, be on the lookout for a shining light on the ground while heading towards the Oasis's exit. (Silver Rod)

Silver Shrine

Doom Bunnies: Enabled [5]
In one session, explore the upper floors of the Silver Shrine and obtain the Silver Crystal.

In One Session Alert!

Just don't save and reload from the heal/save spot inside the Silver Shrine.

After this achievement is earned, do not turn back to finish exploring the Silver Shrine, regardless of what the party says before leaving, unless you are attempting the Something About This Feels Off... achievement. If you haven't already, return to Mt. Elyrita and feed the baby Roc so that Hitchin' a Ride On My Baby is earned.

Treasure: There are 3 treasure chests in the Silver Shrine that need to be found for No Treasure Is Safe From Me!. (11/13)

Locations: 1. On 2F, go to the room that's to the right of the stairs back to 1F. Head to the far right corner of the room and there will be a treasure chest. (Persian Crystal)
2. In that same room, there's a hidden path along the bottom wall. Go all the way down, all the way to the left, and then up to find two treasures in one. (Clown Suit, Sari)
3. On 4F, there is a treasure chest next to the pedestal containing the Silver Crystal. (Silver Scarf)

Step 3: Djinn Recruitment Achievements | Total points: 58

Again, all of the achievements in this section can be done in any order except:

  • Marid needs to be recruited before Bardo can be recruited.
  • Finishing the Silver Shrine must be last.

The final alternate ending achievement is worth mentioning now, as it is linked to the Silver Shrine:

Something About This Feels Off... [10]
In the Cult Hideout, defeat Majnun in battle and see the bad ending. This must be done after agreeing to Lyrah Lyle's request in the Silver Shrine but without recruiting all Djinn.

Missable!

In order to initiate it, the party must complete the underground portion of the Silver Shrine dungeon and meet the Djinn living there without earning all of the achievements listed in this walkthrough step. The ideal time to do this is before recruiting Bardo of Steel in the Fortress (or whichever Djinn that's left for last). However, the fewer Djinn you recruit, the more you'll face in battle on the way to defeat Majnun.

You will need to use a separate save file for this if you choose to save after completing the Silver Shrine.

Jungle

The Jungle is north of Riyadh Village at the end of a dirt path leading into an area of dense vegetation.

Two Good Deeds Deserve a Third [5]
Choose to save Jambia of Earth's life, then in one session explore the Jungle and choose to save the hare's life to receive a gift.

Missable after finishing the Silver Shrine or by refusing to help Jambia or the hare!

In One Session Alert!

You will be confronted with the first half of this achievement upon entering the Desert Dwellers' Camp the first time. Make sure not to save and load using the heal/save spot inside the Jungle cave.

Treasure: There are 3 treasure chests in the Jungle that need to be found for The Most Exotic of Goodies. (3/10)

Locations: 1. Inside the cave, go around to the left towards Jambia's shrine. Before entering the shrine, there is a nook to the north. There is a treasure chest tucked away up there. (Orris Root)
2. Inside of Jambia's shrine, there is a treasure chest along the right wall. (Brown Scarf)
3. On the way back from the cave, cross the first bridge and head south to find a path between trees. There is a very large tree on the right side. Find the tile where the tree's branches extend out the furthest, and walk to the right from there to go behind the tree and find a hidden treasure chest. (Suspenders)

Lava Cave

The Lava Cave is an isolated cave under a mountain directly to the east of the Desert Dwellers' Camp.

A Burning Spirit [5]
In one session, obtain Githil of Fire's summoning item by going to the Lava Cave and defeating him in battle.

Missable after finishing the Silver Shrine!

In One Session Alert!

Make sure to save at the heal/save spot before Githil's shrine so the boss challenge achievement can be attempted again if needed. This achievement will be awarded right after the boss battle, so the only way to mess up the "in one session" requirement would be to load a save from that spot before fighting Githil. Please don't do that.

The Redemption Arc [5]
Defeat Githil in the Lava Cave while only attacking or using magic with Ifrit and without anyone fainting. Cards may not be used. Shukran and Harty may use items.

Missable!

After earning these two achievements, I would recommend staying near the heal/save spot by Githil's shrine and grinding for 10 Cleanser drops from blue dragon-like enemies called Flagrett in order to make things easier for the next Djinn recruitment quest. Using Harty's Pilfer skill in battle against them is more reliable than defeating them and hoping for a drop, though it may still take a little while.

Treasure: There are 3 treasure chests in the Lava Cave that need to be found for The Most Exotic of Goodies. (6/10)

Locations: 1. Immediately upon entering the cave, head to the right. Move down at the right-most tile and there will be a hidden treasure chest. (Turquoise)
2. In the upper left corner of the cave's ground floor, move down and there will be a treasure chest. (Orrin Root)
3. There is a treasure chest inside of Githil's shrine. (Red Scarf)

Underground Lake

The Underground Lake is south of South Desert.

A Victory For the Anti-Pollution Squad [5]
In one session, obtain Marid of Water's summoning item by speaking with her at the Underground Lake and fulfilling her request at the Northwest Spring.

Missable after finishing the Silver Shrine!

In One Session Alert!

Make sure you are prepared to complete this quest after speaking with Marid, because the achievement is in "in one session" mode as soon as the party enters the Underground Lake.

Cleansers are dropped by Flagretts in the Lava Cave. Hopefully the party already has 10! The Northwest Spring is northwest of the Underground Lake.

The Most Exotic of Goodies [5]
Find 3 treasures in the Jungle, 3 treasures in the Lava Cave, and 4 treasures in the Underground Lake.

The final 4 treasures for this achievement are found in the Underground Lake.

Locations: 1. Immediately upon entering the cave, head to the left, where a treasure chest awaits. (Ice Knife)
2. Once underwater, there is a treasure chest along the path. (Orrin Root)
3. From that treasure chest, continue along the path to the left. Once the path opens up, search for a hidden treasure chest along the left wall. It is about in the center, between the two spots where the cave wall tiles form lines that point downward. (Penguin Suit)
4. There is a treasure chest to the right of Marid's table in her shrine. (Blue Scarf)

Castle of Darkness

The Castle of Darkness is nestled away in a mountain range to the south of the Underground Lake.

Dear Diary, Today We Did the Impossible [5]
In one session, obtain Fidda of Silver's summoning item in the Castle of Darkness by finding it in an unfairly hidden place.

Missable after finishing the Silver Shrine!

In One Session Alert!

The item is on the third floor, in a room on the right side that has four lit candlesticks in it. The item itself is hidden from view but is in the lower left corner of the room.

There is a heal/save spot in the Castle; just make sure not to save and reload from it.

Behind the Backs of Others, a Thief Strikes Again! [3]
In the Castle of Darkness, find the Oil Jar in one session and agree to take it. Missable if you choose not to take it.

Missable!

In One Session Alert!

The Oil Jar is found on the way to the room with Fidda's summoning item, on the second floor. The left-hand stairs on the first floor need to be taken. Once on the second floor, go down to find the stairs to the third floor, but walk to the right past them. At the end of the path will be the Oil Jar. Make sure to take it regardless of what the dialogue says.

Again, there is a heal/save spot in the Castle; just make sure not to save and reload from it. It's further in the dungeon than where the Oil Jar is, but here's the warning just in case.

Treasure: There are 2 treasure chests in the Castle of Darkness that need to be found for Castlecombing For Fun and Profit. (2/10)

Locations: 1. Upon entering the castle, take the first right-hand path that is seen. Follow it down and around until it opens up into a room with a pillar and stairs to the left of the pillar. Go behind the pillar and walk down to open a hidden treasure chest. (Kitty Suit)
2. From the main entrance, walk all the way up until the party reaches a throne room. There will be a cutscene there the first time it's reached. There is a treasure chest sneakily placed to the right of the throne. (Black Scarf)

Fortress

The Fortress is on an island to the east of the Underground Lake. Marid must be recruited before the party can access the Fortress.

The Most Fashionable Gift [5]
Obtain Bardo of Steel's summoning item by going to the Fortress, defeating him in battle, and fulfilling his request. Must be done without loading a save inside the Fortress.

Missable after finishing the Silver Shrine!

Bardo's request is simply to present him with all 9 holy scarves found throughout the game. You will be able to fulfill this request immediately as long as you have been earning the treasure-related achievements, including finding his scarf inside the Fortress. If that happens, the achievement will pop immediately. If not, then remember to not save and load inside the Fortress after obtaining all of the scarves but before giving them to Bardo.

Make sure you have earned Something About This Feels Off... before recruiting Bardo!

Nobody Likes You, Bardo [5]
Defeat Bardo in the Fortress using only Shukran's summons and without anyone fainting. Cards may not be used. The party may use items.

Missable!

It is recommended not to summon Miche-Miche or Fidda because they have a chance of using skills that will not damage Bardo.

There is a heal/save spot nearby. If needed, a separate save can be created to re-try the boss challenge achievement, as the boss battle can only be attempted once regardless of how many scarves the party has.

Treasure: There are 5 treasure chests in the Fortress that need to be found for Castlecombing For Fun and Profit. (7/10)

Locations: 1. After passing through the front gate, take the little path to the right to find a treasure chest. (Stealth Boots)
2. There is a treasure chest further along the path to the Fortress. (Ice Knuckles)
3. On 2F, head towards the lower left corner through a hallway of rooms. There is a treasure chest in the left-most bottom room. It's to the right of the stairs to 3F. (Orrin Root)
4. From there, go to the left-most upper room to find another treasure chest. It's north of the stairs to 3F. (Grey Scarf)
5. On 3F, there is a treasure chest in the lower right corner of the map. (Muskal)

Silver Shrine Underground

Dear Diary, Today I Realized My Destiny [5]
In one session, agree to Lyrah Lyle of Darkness's request and learn about Shukran's heritage in the Silver Shrine. Completing this is the point of no return for Djinn recruitments.

In One Session Alert!

Make sure to complete The Incorrect Path as well as all of the achievements in this walkthrough step before speaking to Lyrah Lyle. If there is a cutscene of Majnun after her cutscene, then you are on the road to the bad ending. That is only okay if you are going for Something About This Feels Off.... As always, don't load a save from any save points in the Silver Shrine.

Step 4: Endgame Achievements | Total points: 121

This is the time to take care of any unfinished sidequests, as the next progression achievement marks a point of no return. The remaining sidequests:

Bazaar Town

Help the Poor, Get a Toy [5]
Donate 5,000 Tams to the woman in the Bazaar Town inn and receive a gift.

This achievement is available all through the game, but money is much more expendable near the endgame. The award for donating 100 Tams 50 times is a Toy Hammer, which can be found in a hidden chest in Bardo's Labyrinth.

Northeast Town

Help the Poor, Become Annoying [5]
Donate 5,000 Tams to the woman in the Northeast Town inn and receive a gift.

This achievement is also available all throughout the game, and also consists of giving 100 Tams to the woman 50 times. The award here is the Squeaky Sandals, Shukran's best shoe equipment, but equip them and you'll see why the achievement is titled as it is.

Also, if you haven't unlocked Help the Poor, Get a Tuber in Egypt Town yet, now is a good opportunity to do so.

Palace

The Palace is north of the Mini Palace/North Mansion.

Loved By the Nobility [10]
In the Palace, trade all 5 rare items with Princess Salalah for a gift and sell the Persian Crystal to the King. Missable if you refuse to sell the crystal.

Missable!

As long as all of the treasure achievements have been earned and you didn't make the wrong dialogue choice before the Manticore battle, you will have all of the items for this sidequest. The party can enter the Palace after finding the Persian Crystal in the upper levels of the Silver Shrine, but they will most likely not have all 5 of the necessary items at that time.

Regarding the King, he will give three offers for the Persian Crystal: 500 Tams, 1,000 Tams, and 10,000 Tams. After those three offers are declined, the achievement will be unearnable.

No Treasure Is Safe From Me! [5]
Find 1 treasure in the Desert Dwellers' Camp, 5 treasures in Egypt Town, 1 treasure on Mt. Badiya, 1 treasure in the Oasis, 3 treasures in the Silver Shrine, and 2 treasures in the Palace. Missable if the North Mansion was not looted.

The final 2 treasures for this achievement are found in the Palace. 1 is in a treasure chest and 1 is hidden. The translation is a little bugged here; the hidden item isn't what Harty says it is.

Locations: 1. At the large square rug at the top of the first room, go left and take the west exit. Once the path heads upwards, look for a hidden path marker in the right wall. Go straight through to find a treasure chest. (Mint Liqueur)
2. Return to the square rug and take the east exit this time. Head all the way to the right and look at the right side of the last bookshelf. There's a hidden item there. (Royal Dress)

Isolated Hut

The isolated hut is to the west of the Cult Hideout, or north of the Northwest Spring.

A Shukran For Every Occasion [10]
Agree to watch the isolated hut while its owner goes on vacation, and in one session, see Shukran model all 9 of her costumes.

Missable if the party had to trade the Goddess Tear to the Manticore!

Again, as long as all of the treasure has been collected (and the Manticore was dealt with properly), you will have what you need. The Palace sidequest also needs to be completed before Shukran will have all 9 of her costumes.

The party will need to exit and re-enter the hut each time you want to try for a new costume. Which costume she wears is RNG reliant, but there is a count that will pop up in the corner of the screen every time she wears a new one until the achievement is earned.

Ifrit's Castle

Ifrit's Castle is northwest of the Desert Dwellers' Camp. This is a good place to level up against Fortune Pots (the green ones) and earn a lot of Tams by defeating Golden Pots. Fortune Pots also often drop Orrin Roots, the best healing items in the game. These enemies also show up in the final dungeon.

Make sure you have at least 2 of any Fire, Water, Earth, and Wind cards in stock for Just Call Me Rooks before entering.

The King Is Back! [5]
In one session, visit Ifrit's Castle and defeat the Card Masters to take back the throne.

In One Session Alert!

The reward for defeating the Card Masters is a guaranteed free Level 0 card.

There is no heal/save spot in the Castle, so this is a true "in one session" achievement. Don't forget to save on the overworld outside.

Just Call Me Rooks [5]
In Ifrit's Castle, defeat the Card Masters after playing a Fire, Water, Earth, and Wind card in any order and without anyone fainting.

The Card Masters like to play Level 0 cards, which can be cancelled out on the next turn by any level card. Make sure to keep an eye on the party's HP. The achievement isn't unwinnable if a party member faints, but the played card count will be cancelled out, requiring you to start over and play all 4 cards again.

Castlecombing For Fun and Profit [5]
Find 2 treasures in the Castle of Darkness, 5 treasures in the Fortress, and 3 treasures in Ifrit's Castle.

The final 3 treasure chests of the game are in Ifrit's Castle.

Locations: 1. From the entrance, go north until the path splits. Take the left path to a treasure chest at the end. (Breastplate)
2. On 2F, after exiting the room with the stairs down to 1F, take a left and follow that path to stairs that lead up to 3F. Follow the downwards path around to find a treasure chest. (Kaiser Knuckles)
3. Return to 2F and to the door leading to the room with the stairs to 1F. Walk to the south, down the center corridor until it forks. Enter the room on the right and follow the path to the final treasure chest. (Jerz Axe)

Once you are finished with everything, it's time to wrap up the game. Once defeating Majnun and seeing the event that follows, the party will reach a point of no return. It's a straight line to the end from here on out.

Cult Hideout

The Spirit King Reigns Supreme [10]
Defeat Majnun of Light in the Cult Hideout within 15 actions and with Ifrit landing the final blow.

Missable!

15 actions equal 5 turns for the party. If using a damaging card, the damage percentage done to Majnun at the end of each turn can help you gauge how close he is to defeat. Ifrit's magic can do 3,000+ damage each turn. However, there is no save spot before the battle, so make sure to save on the overworld outside of the Cult Hideout.

He's Waited 1,000 Years For This [10]
Recruit the last two Djinn and witness Ifrit's restoration. Completing this is a point of no return.

It is okay to save at and load saves from the heal/save spot found after this event concludes. Be aware that if you use it, you will not be able to access any other area in the game other than the final dungeon with that save.

Dear Diary, Today We Saved the World! [25]
Defeat Gaia in Gaia's Realm and finally fulfill Shukran's wish.

Congrats, this is the win condition for the game! Even so, you will need to defeat the final boss twice in order to see both ending scenes. Thankfully the dungeon itself isn't very long.

Giving Their All Without Using It All [25]
Defeat Gaia in Gaia's Realm by only using 3 or fewer items and no cards.

Missable!

As items are the main method of healing in Arabian Nights, this challenge essentially limits your healing to three times through the battle. I would recommend using Orrin Roots, as they are full heals that also revive any fainted party members. Also, as no cards are allowed, the party will have to sit through the effects of any Level 0 cards that Gaia may use. Just hit her as hard as you can and her 32,000 HP should be depleted in no time.

The Path of Freedom and Adventure [3]
Choose to destroy the Magic Treasures and set the Djinn free. Enjoy the true ending!
The Path of a Djinn Master-in-Training [3]
Choose to hand over the Magic Treasures and promise to grow stronger.

Step 5: Card-related Achievements | Total points: 38

All of these achievements require the party to be in battle. For most of these achievements, it is recommended that they are attempted after making a save on the overworld just in case something doesn't work out and you can easily reset to get your cards back. Nooo, I Needed That! and Shukran's Feather Duster will most likely pop during the course of regular play, but the others may need some setting up to accomplish.

Like a Refreshing Stream [5]
Successfully use a Water 1, 3, 5, or 0 card to heal 50 or more MP between all 3 party members at the same time.

Use magic and skills to drain all characters' MP as much as you can before playing an MP-healing Water card. You may need to do this over multiple battles. The lower the level of the card you want to play, the higher its healing percentage will be -- at the cost of being more easily countered by an enemy's card.

Strengthened By the Sun [5]
Successfully do 4,000 or more damage with a critical hit while the party has a Light 3 card active.

Make sure to go to the overworld area to the left of Bazaar Town where the weakest enemies are before attempting this achievement. It may be easiest to wait until the endgame when the party is well-leveled and have the best equipment before going for it. Using Harty's Lower Defense skill should also help.

If you need an extra boost, summoning Fidda gives a chance of her using a strengthening skill on the party. If you choose to try for her buff, you will want to make sure that you're fighting more than one enemy so she doesn't attack and end the battle instead of using the skill.

Under a Veil of Darkness [5]
Successfully dodge 3 enemy attacks in the same battle while the party has a Dark 2 or 4 card active.

It's okay to use more than one Dark 2 or Dark 4 card in the battle that you're attempting to unlock this achievement in. You're not required to get lucky with just one card. Thankfully, the dodge rate is relatively high when these cards are active.

Nooo, I Needed That! [5]
Lose 2,000 Tams or more in one turn while an enemy's Steel 2, Steel 4, or Steel 0 card is in play.

The party needs to have 20,000 Tams or more on hand to activate this achievement. You will most likely have enough Tams 3/4 of the way through the game for this to unlock on its own. The Pot enemies in Ifrit's Castle like to play Steel cards.

Riding Upon a Spring Wind [5]
Successfully use a Wood 1, 3, 5, or 0 card to heal 1,500 or more HP between all 3 party members at the same time. This will not trigger if Miche-Miche is summoned.

Similar to Like a Refreshing Stream, the more damaged the party is, the more HP will be healed at the end of the turn. The lower the level of the card is also affects how strong the healing effect is.

Shukran's Feather Duster [3]
Successfully use a Moon 5 card in battle to remove an enemy's card from play.

Moon 5's sole purpose is to remove other level 5 cards from play. Simple enough.

Ultra Hyper Rare Card Pull!! [10]
Successfully receive a Level 0 card at the end of a battle. Does not include the card won after the Card Masters battle.
  • Ultra Hyper Rare Card Secrets!! must be earned before attempting this achievement.
  • The big secret is to be in battle and play 5 cards of the same element in a row, in level order.
    • Playing Fire 1, Fire 2, Fire 3, Fire 4, and Fire 5 (in that order) will turn the prize card into a Fire 0 card upon winning the battle.
  • The trickiest aspect to this is that if an enemy successfully plays a card or knocks out the one you're trying to play that turn with a same level card, you cannot complete the chain and must start over. Resetting would be the best option here. Hopefully you saved first!

Thank you for reading and/or playing! 💛
