How to grant folder access permission from within an emulator - ResetCollection/support GitHub Wiki
Beginning with Android version 11, some emulators will require you to grant folder and file access permissions. This has to be done from within the emulator.
When you attempt to launch a game from RESET Collection using one of these emulators requiring this folder access permission, you will be shown the following dialog:
- Click on "NO", and next you will be presented with another dialog:
- Make note of your ROM folder path (circled in red above). NOTE: Your ROM path will be different then what is shown above.
- Next, click on "OPEN EMULATOR".
- Open the folder manager/picker from within the emulator. Each emulator will have a different way to open the folder manager, but once done, the next screen displayed will look like what you see below:
-
Navigate to the folder matching the folder path you noted from the dialog in RESET Collection.
-
Click on "USE THIS FOLDER"
-
A new permission popup will display. Select "ALLOW".
-
Now you should see your ROMs imported into your M64Plus/PPSSPP/AetherSX2 emulator.
-
Go back to RESET and launch the game.
-
Press "YES" in the dialog and confirm that the game launches as expected.
-
Congratulations! All games for this system in the ROM folder will now launch with the emulator! Feel free to check the "Don't show message again" box in the dialog the next time you launch a game from RESET for this emulator.
