- Install a version like
GE-Proton8-13
or the latest one - Restart Steam (You might need to restart your computer)
- In Steam click on Escape The Backrooms and then on the settings icon
- Click on
Compatibility
and selectForce the use of a specific Steam Play compatibility tool
- Click on the drop down and click on
GE-Proton8-13
or the one you downloaded - Load it in game and enjoy
🍷 Why GE-Proton?
I used the normal Steam Proton in the past and found many issues with it like crashing mid game and when I started using GE-Proton, these issues were fixed. Also for modding you need to use this due to DLL issues with the normal Steam Proton.
