Creating a Sign - Relicum/CountDownSigns GitHub Wiki

Creating a Sign

This is basically all the needs to be done, unless you wish to alter the default settings.

Steps to placing and adding the time length:

No need to worry the sign will not look like what you are inputting. The sign is automatically restyled when adding the inputs is finished.

Place a sign on the block that you wish to be removed at the end of the countdown.
his MUST be a SIGN POST and not a WALL SIGN.
Once placed, on the first line of the sign add the identifier **[CDS]**

First Line identifier

On the 2nd time you add the total length of time this is where TimeUnits come into play. First the rules of adding the length of time. This is added to the 2nd line of the sign. It is vital that nothing is added to the 3rd or 4th line.

1. You must input at least 1 Value and its TimeUnit it represents.
2. You can use up to 3 a maximum of 3 inputs.
3. If using more than 1 input they must be separated by a single space.
4. The inputs do not have to be in any particular order.
5. The inputs can also use the same TimeUnit more than once.

For this example lets presume you want the countdown length to be 1 minute and 30 seconds. As you can see from the rules above there is many ways to input this on line 2, lets use the most logical first to keep it simple. We will be using two inputs. (Remember you MUST use a single space to separate the inputs.)

2 inputs

Now click on Done. The sign should now look like this.

If everything was inputted correctly you will get an in game message like this.

The game makes extensive use of the 1.7 Chat features in minecraft, Most notable the Hove Event and the Click Events. So watch out for them as they will provide lots of useful information about the plugin which I will not be documenting here.

If you hover over the word Start you will see the following text. Explaining the options, click start and it will start the countdown, just hovering over it will display the info. The second image shows just a Hover event. This one is informing you that "this is the command to run". It will help you memorize the commands.
