Overview

A player can overclock production anywhere from (0 - 100)%. The percentage of overclocking is linearly proportional to the multiplier applied to all statistics of all active facilities. At 0% overclocked (or not overclocked) the overclocking multiplier is one. At 100% overclocked the multiplier is two.

The percentage of overclocking is also proportional to the amount of processing power and memory Idle Inc. will utilise on the player's device. Therefore it is imperative that the player understands the consequences of overclocking their game, which include slower run-time of other concurrent applications, higher battery usage, and the player's device may also heat up when heavily overclocked.

A player may change how much they wish to overclock Idle Inc. at any time.

Bitcoin Mining

The reason for this mechanic and the increase in processing power and memory allocation when overclocking is due to the fact that the player's phone will be used for Bitcoin mining when they overclock Idle Inc.

Though a single device will not be beneficial at Bitcoin mining on its own. When many devices are properly organised to work together to mine blocks it is theoretically possible to achieve sufficient results. Thus, Idle Inc. becomes a pooled Bitcoin mining community.

Bitcoin Factory

It is possible to win Bitcoins mined by the community via the Bitcoin Factory. When Bitcoins are available in the pool, the factory has a small chance to produce the Bitcoin in the same manner than all other facilities operate (although the input batch for the Bitcoin Factory is deliberately expensive to the extend that it is not viable to run continuously).

Luck Multiplier

Each player has a hidden luck multiplier value that can increase or decrease the chance of creating a Bitcoin with a Bitcoin Factory depending on the value of the multiplier. This value is dictated by the processing time provided by the player compared to the average processing time provided by all other players. The range of the multiplier ensures that it will never be heavily prohibitive of creating a Bitcoin, nor will it drastically increase the chance of creating one. It is simply a small intensive to players that may think about attempting to 'cheat' the system.
