‐ 1 CRT Emudrivers Installation - Redemp/VideoAmp_wiki GitHub Wiki

It's a tool you use in Safe Mode to completely uninstalling drivers when

  • Upgrading/Switching Drivers
  • Switching to a new GPU

It removes registry entries and files to make sure there are no conflicts or older settings making a mess of new driver installations.

So lets run it down on how to do it correctly

  1. Run Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) in safe mode
  2. Uninstall any old gpu drivers. In this case AMD.
  3. Reboot and Install CRT Emudriver & CRT Tools using the Setup.exe (Then Reboot)
  4. Reboot and then install Radeon Settings control panel ccc-next64.msi (Reboot Again)

For newer GCN card I would recommend using the CRT Emudriver & CRT Tools 2.0 beta 15 (Adrenalin 21.5.2 for GCN* cards) for Windows 10 64-bits (Latest Vulcan Driver)

Credit to psakhis for the updated drivers

Do not add any resolutions at all from VMMaker or setup any dummy monitor or anything like that.

  • Only add One and Only one resolution to the VideoAMP

This is the main default resolution Windows should be displayed in. There is no need to add more.
