Stages (WIP)

  1. Investigate, Research, Planning
  • Research and discuss with LattePanda Team passing battery status to OS Level.
  • Getting Thunderbolt chip Reference Manual from Intel
  • finalize alpha components

look to see if i can find a damaged/broken Thunderbolt PCIe expansion card with same chip for circuit reference. Options: Gigabyte GC-TITAN RIDGE 2.0, ASRock Thunderbolt 4 AIC, ASUS ThunderboltEX 4.

  • purchase battery related components, USB-PD IC, as well as WiFi card.
  • use included carrier board to get familar with BIOS and do some baseline performance testing, possibly seeing stability ith undervolting.
  • Installing Windows natively

Create some baseline data point with typical benchmarks used in reviews.

  • Setup VM host, Proxmox, and install openWRT guest OS, and install Windows Guest OS

Create second set of bench data points.

  1. Using carrier board, prototype battery pack, and get it to pass through to Windows.
  2. Layout macro-sized Alpha prototype PCB Design, ordering PCB.
  3. Start CAD of Enclosure, and layout where components would ideally go in Beta prototype, while waiting.
  4. Alpha prototyping, Update Wiki
  5. Layout compacted Beta prototype PCB Design, ordering PCB.
  6. Complete Enclosure Design CAD, get 3D printed.
  7. Testing, and possibly second beta spin
