Dubtrack.fm: Chiptune Fantasy Rules
Hello World! McQuantum here! Welcome to the rules for Chiptune Fantasy, my very own Dubtrack.fm channel! Without further ado, let's begin!
P.S: (If you break any of these, I will both ban you and yell ludicrous technobabble at your face just to make your day that much more displeasing đ.)
Genres
Encouraged
These are tracks that we enjoy the most and will not be skipped! (as long as they don't conflict with other rules)
- Chiptunes
- Including subgenres (Chip-punk, Chip-pop, Chip-hop, Chip-step, etc.)
- Electronica
- Glitch
- Future Bass
- Electro/Complextro
- Retro Video Game OSTs
- Any EDM track with many chiptune elements
Reasonable
These are tracks that we're OK with, but might be skipped if it doesn't fit the vibe or receives too many downvotes.
- Progressive House
- Pop (please... anything but Taylor Swift Or Katy Perry [âīšâ])
- Trance
- Techno
- Ambient
- Electro Trap
- "Chill" Electronic Music
- Melodic Dubstep
- Original Nightcore Songs (they have to be original compositions by the artist)
Inappropriate
These are tracks we do not prefer, and will be skipped. (I may seldom accept a track within these genres, but it's unlikely, so don't try it at risk of being kicked or banned.)
- Rock/Metal
- Hip Hop
- Brostep
- Big Room
- "Nightcore" (if it's another song but pitched and sped up)
- Acoustic
- Modern Video Game OSTs
- Troll Songs/Ear Rape (these will lead to an instant ban)
- Country (if you want to piss me off, this will do it!)
- Jazz
- Reggae
- Crappy Minecraft Parodies
- And of course... anything that isn't music! (Go listen to your sports podcast in your grandpa's 1972 Ford Thunderbird)
Unlisted
Seeing as though I probably missed many genres, here's what to do! If the genre isn't listed here, then ask me or a moderator for approval. If none are available, assume the track to be "Inappropriate". This means DO NOT PLAY IT!
Curse Words
If a song contains a curse word, it may not necessarily against the rules. However, we're against music with...
- Excessive cursing (like, if the lyrics are practically nothing but curse words)
- Racial Slurs (I could make exceptions, but I'd rather not have this sort of argument in the chat)
Quality
For you techies out there, we prefer a bitrate of 126 kbps or higher! If you don't understand what that means, don't worry, most YouTube videos are encoded with 126 kbps and most Soundcloud files are 128 kbps, so whatever you're playing is likely fine. However, if the audio is...
- Screechy
- Buggy (well... y'know... unless it's Glitch Music)
- Way too loud (a.k.a, Ear Rape)
- Simply Sounds "Bad"
- Contains painful frequencies
...then it will be skipped and the user will likely be banned! So preview your music to make sure it sounds peachy!
Videos
In this wondrous modern age of technology, many musical pieces come with VIDEOS!!! Obviously, we're fine with audio visualizers and animations, but we do have a few policies concerning music videos.
We want to keep our content "safe-for-work", but do not wish to restrict music simply because of a video. Our standards are...
- NO excessive violence. (a little blood and action is OK, but nothing insanely disturbing)
- NO pornographic images.
- NO imagery that can be seen as offensive (Nazi Swastikas, Satanic Crap, etc.)
Exceptions
There may be exceptions to these rules, usually if the imagery has some artistic meaning and has been approved by myself or a moderator. (e.x. if you're playing a loop of the Zelda theme to a Brazzers video or have an upbeat EDM song that has Nazi imagery for no reason, you will be BANNED)
Chat
We want the chat to be a place for mild conversations and casual discussions! Please, DO NOT get into arguments involving...
- Race
- Religion/Beliefs
- Sexual Matters
- Flame Wars
- Any other offensive or abusive subjects
- Also, DO NOT SPAM
If you are caught involved in one of these arguments, ALL USERS involved will be banned, regardless of "who started it" or "I was trying to help". If you see an argument going on, avoid it, and report it to me or a moderator! Try to keep the chat clean, welcoming, and fun!
Moderators
Please do your best to...
- Respect Moderators
- Do what the moderators ask!
- Avoid arguments with moderators!
