Interview to Mrs Heiß (librarian) - Real-Projects-Digitalization/RPD-Defendo GitHub Wiki
Summary of a personal interview to the librarian of the Lothstraße Campus HM:
She likes the idea of digital Id cards
She things surveillance in some areas would help but she has data protection concerns
In general she views the library as a very safe space
She said digital id cards could help with booked rooms (right now u need a key and its. alot of work to manage access and keys), lockers, and with borrowing a book -> you only need a code because an id card can easily be stolen
implies a lot of security measures are because of physical id cards and how easy it is to steal them
collaboration between universities -> difficult since they all have their own goals (hm students can access tum university for some reason for example)
collaboration in development of a digital id card is difficult because of that
she thinks we need to talk to each other more and this would prevent secruity realted issues
she mentioned that employing security personal is expensive and if theres an other solution that would archive something similar she would probably take it
on the other hand she thinks that the library is such a safe place because theres always a person there
library is not envolved in security defining processes. They are more expected to carry out the security related tasks university instances decide on
