By 2030, ensure access for all to adequate, safe and affordable housing and basic services and upgrade slums.

Auctions Auctions only happen at specific times thro* ughout the year. You need to sign up for county government websites to recieve information on when it is.

This is a government auction site for a few states. Right now there are only listings for Indiana, and Shelby County in Tennessee

These sites aren't very good, but I'll include it just in case someone else can find something

https://www.minute.land/ Here's a resource for suuuper low-cost land. It seems like a lot of the zoning is recreational, so you can only stay for half a year on average
DISCLAIMER: Most modes of living cost the same, you’re just paying for different things. The following information is to make conditions easier, not provide an easy path.
- Super-super cheap off-grid land. Most of it is recreational, and most of the time that means you can only stay a max. of six months. Check laws. Could maybe hypothetically buy two plots in different areas and just move. Living in a rural area is expensive- this is for people who already off-grid or boondock and only have the barrier of land. https://www.minute.land/

advice from someone: There's also the Access Pass, which is for disabled people. It gives free or discounted access to over 2,000 federally managed park sites. Many of those sites have overnight camping, and some are surprisingly close to public transit. If you have a bike with a trailer you'd have access to quite a few good campsites! The pass includes up to 4 people, so if you know someone with a vehicle then you could camp as a group and would have even wider access to campsites. https://www.nps.gov/subjects/accessibility/interagency-access-pass.htm

Disperesed camping is really similar to BLM land, except it's more regulated. This could be a really fantastic option for boon docking!!!! https://www.fs.usda.gov/detailfull/sierra/recreation/?cid=stelprdb5121831

House Boat
- Living in a boat- there are waters that are comparable to B.L.M. land. In a place suitable for a house boat, you might be able to put a lightweight tiny house on a pontoon, which doesn’t look difficult to build. I have zero experience though so research everything yourself. It’s extremely difficult to find a formal dock to rent, waitlists are years long.

So I had this idea for a loan train on Kiva, it's like gofundme but for loans. Basically, the amount is the down-payment on an FHA housing loan for a multi-family home. The amount of the loan is paid back in rent, which is then used as a loan for another multi-family home. The rent is cheap, and catered to housing people who are disabled. Edit: Multifamily homes are more expensive than I thought. This discusses purchasing apartments: https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZT8qEpyrc/ The down-payment for one apartment is 3,000 and the monthly payment is 1000 per apartment. You'd have to do this with people that are super reliable. OKAY WAIT. There's a lot of areas you can have a tiny home if there's already a house on the property. So, you could do a loan traim with that instead and house two people or two families. It would achieve the same goal of housing people but be less expensive!!

This reddit post brought up some interesting points on why groups fail: https://www.reddit.com/r/intentionalcommunity/comments/18vnyz2/communes_fail_because_the_people_most_needing_of/ It kinda fits into the studies that show that giving the money to the most vulnerable communities (women, people of colour, etc.) is the best way to assure that the group prospers because those groups tend to invest on the wellbeing of the whole group instead of only their own
