By 2030, achieve universal and equitable access to safe and affordable drinking water for all
United States
Lay person tasks
- Do research to find out if the water in your area is safe. Some people who are particularly dedicated to this, especially if their government has a history of lying to residents, test the quality of their water themselves. Under certain circumstances, you can ask your local government to test your water for you.
- If you can, get a water filter that filters out both lead and PFAS.
- Be supportive of local government installing public drinking fountains.
- Be supportive of policies that provide water free to people who are low income.
- Do not support laws or politicians that makes it illegal/ prevents people from giving water to neighbors or people who are homeless.
