Search Bars

The current providers are Google, Bing, DuckDuckGo and Perplexity. Type in a box and press Enter: the encoded query opens in a new tab, while the dashboard and typed text remain. Empty input opens nothing and shows a message.

DuckDuckGo is ordinary web search, not Duck.ai. Perplexity retains direct question transfer and an Open link. Google and Bing companion buttons send the query to Perplexity.

Reorder providers

Drag only the grip at the left of a box. Alternatively, focus the grip and press Enter for Move earlier/Move later, or use the arrow keys. Text remains in its own box. Order survives reload and travels in backups as providerOrder. Shortcut-tile order is separate.

Settings > Show DuckDuckGo and Perplexity hides or shows those two providers. Google and Bing always show. Stored orders from the earlier six-provider build map Duck.ai to DuckDuckGo, discard ChatGPT/Claude entries and preserve supported relative order.

The owner reported that the six-provider version worked but disliked its manual-paste interaction design. That design was superseded at the owner's request. ChatGPT and Claude provider boxes were removed; saved shortcut tiles were not removed. The owner accepted the final four-provider section at 9d172f1.

Voice input depends on browser support and permission. Image actions are provider-specific. Searches contact providers; microphone/image actions have not been separately accepted across browsers.

Submitted searches are recorded in the standalone Continue with these tabs card. Records describe dashboard actions, not confirmed destination loads; a search may be recorded even if the browser blocks its new tab. Chrome-wide history is not accessed.
