Machine Setup

Inside the box you should have:

1. 3 computers

   1. 1 x SWIFT PC
   2. 1 x UTSP PC
   3. 1 x Barclays PC

2. Some accessories

   1. 1 x 105 key keyboard (with a numberpad to the right)
   2. 1 x mouse
   3. 1 x Network Switch (diagram 1)
   4. 1 x "Keyboard, Video, Mouse" switching device (diagram 2)
   5. 1 x webcam
   6. 1 x noise-cancelling headphones
   7. 1 x USB multiplug extender oodjit
   8. 1 x new mac gizmo

3. Readers

   1. 1 x Barclays reader
   2. 1 x UTSP reader

4. "Some" cables

   1. 1 x Red network cable (may be quite long)
   2. 1 x Yellow network cable
   3. 1 x Green network cable (short)
   4. 1 x Blue network cable (short)
   5. 1 x White network cable (short)
   6. 1 x "Mac video cable" (mini-display port)
   7. 1 x HDMI cable (if you've got an older pro, or a newer machine)
   8. 1 x "green" pair of cables
   9. 1 x "blue" pair of cables
   10. 1 x "white" pair of cables

Setting up!

1. Check you have everything on the list above.
2. If not, call the Office
3. Unpack things; it's easier to line up the machines side by side for a minute.
4. Plug the UPS into mains.
5. Plug the power extension lead into the UPS, and then (moving left to right), plug in each PC, the monitor plug (4), the network switch (5), and the KVM power (6).

Plumb in the KVM switch

plug the monitor out cable into the monitor (HDMI 1)

now connect the USB cable out to the bottom socket underneath the network socket on the respective PC connect the HDMI cable to the HDMI outlet on each machine

Directly to internets

If you're connecting directly to your HomeHub, use this approach:

From here, you should be plugged in, and the cable sphageeti should be mostly there. Tidying can come later.

• One at a time, switch on each PC, and ensure it starts up.
• Login using the details you'll have via LastPass.
• Change your password (see the policy)
• Try connecting to the internet using Chrome (try bbc.co.uk/news or something)
• Try connecting to the right site for the machine
• See it works
  • If not, call support for troubleshooting, once you've connected a camera to your laptop (or using that camera)
