The Bulgarian eID services announced the planned support of two SSO protocols – SAML 2.0 and OpenID Connect for its national eID scheme^[1].

According to the available documentation and the responsible person working for the Bulgarian government, the SAML-based eID service will be compliant with the eIDAS SAML profile. Currently, there are no official documents or existing implementations describing the authentication on more technical level, which are publicly available.
