Are you confused about MHGU modding?

No fear, here's what you should do.

  1. Outline what you want to accomplish - currently we're able to change textures, music, sfx, videos, weapon values and monster drop rates.
  2. Go to the tools page to see the recommended tools and the specialized tools for specific use cases.
  3. Follow the provided guides in the github repo.
  4. If you do struggle, join these two discords here (MHGU-Specific Mod Discord) here (General MH Modding Discord) to ask for help. We can't confirm that everything is possible but the scene always needs new volunteers and modders to help out.
  5. Create your mod!
  6. Upload your mod, if you so choose to, on GameBanana. Maybe even tell your friends about it :)
