RESTFest is honored to welcome Mike Kelly to Edinburgh for "A master class in humble bragging, from the unassuming inventor of the globally-deployed HAL format."
Mike Kelly is a software entrepreneur and founder of Stateless, an API consultancy firm assisting companies with their strategy, design and implementation challenges. Kelly currently resides in the small city of Winchester outside London with his wife and their three children. Active in the Web space since he was a teenager, Kelly is a well-known voice in the API and REST communities.
In 2011 he released the Hypertext Application Language (HAL) media type for APIs. Since that time, HAL has grown to be the dominant hypermedia format for APIs and Mike Kelly is considered one of the leading experts in Web APIs. He does not often attend public events but made an exception and participated in the 2014 API-Craft event in Detroit, MI where he talked about HAL and about the future of hypermedia and APIs in general.
