Larry Staton Jr. is a software engineer at Hendrick Automotive Group where he designs, develops, and deploys business systems. Fluent in various flavors of Ruby, Objective-C (iOS and Cocoa), and JavaScript, I'm unlearning "Rails REST" and learning how to properly implement hypermedia APIs. FUN FACT: I'm fascinated by functional programming languages and state machines, but I'm not sure why. These paradigms seem to fit my brain. |

| Abstract | I watched Rich Hickey's keynote address titled "The Value of Values" and I want to explore how these ideas fit into Hypermedia API design. If I PUT a new fact to resource, how should the server respond? What should the response look like? Let's explore. |
