I am experienced and talented (some say) young professional, entrepreneur and evangelist. Focusing on bringing IT solutions to non-technical businesses, like retail, I work on optimizing their processeses and using cutting-edge research to solve hard problems and grow sales. My hands-on practice with collection of different technologies, programming languages and environments allows me to deliver or architect scalabale solutions which provide real value and have huge impact to overall business' process. When not working, I find time to contribute to open-source projects and movements to improve interoperability and platform independence. |
| Title | RESTful Open Data |
|---|---|
| Level | Five In Five, Extended Talk |
| Abstract |
Open Data has been around for a long time and has been mainly pushed by government or/and non-profit organisations to promote free and open data, which would otherwise not be available. While this work continues, I would argue, that it also matters how this data is published. You might be surprised, but some open data is available as faxed over documents, CDs available to pick up or just dumps in a random format. Having worked on one major project to publish otherwise closed information openly, I'd like to discuss the problems and solutions for opening and publishing data which would be easy to integrate with, understand and access. Only REST comes to mind. |
