Need Statement

Biotechnologists need to prepare media on petri plates for culturing of microorganisms or animal cell lines. On average, for the fermentation process, a person needs to prepare 100 plates per day. Automatic Petri plate filling machines loads sterilized media into it. The machine has to move petri plates to and from the loading site continuously.

Design an automatic petri-plate loading machine, which is able to do accurate and hygienic loading process. The machine should be easily portable and user-friendly in nature. Machine should weigh about 7.8 to 8 kg and dimension must be around 683mm662mm348mm in length, width and height respectively. Machine should be able to load the media to at least 20 petri-plates per minute and budget to build should not exceed Rs.5000. Machine should also be capable of working for 3 hours continuously. Also, machine should be fast and accurate in loading the media into petri-plate in specified time interval. _Machine should maintain the sterile condition of the media and capable to do work in biomedical condition. Machine should not load in case if the room environment is disturbed.
