Need Statement
Biotechnologists need to prepare media on petri plates for culturing of microorganisms or animal cell lines. On average, for the fermentation process, a person needs to prepare 100 plates per day. Automatic Petri plate filling machines loads sterilized media into it. The machine has to move petri plates to and from the loading site continuously.
What is petri-plate?
A Petri plate (alternatively known as a Petri dish or cell-culture dish) is a shallow transparent lidded plate that biologists use to hold growth medium in which cells can be cultured, originally, cells of bacteria, fungi and small mosses.
What is loading machine?
It is an intermittent-operation or continuous-operation hoisting and conveying machine used to perform loading-unloading, conveying, and stacking operations with bulk and unit (piece) goods. The machines frequently include independent hoists or conveying machines or units.
What is automatic petri-plate loading machine?
It is an operating and conveying machine used to perform loading of media into the petri-plates, where the media is cultured of cells of bacteria, fungi and small mosses. Which is better to the biomedical conditions.

sl.no | Mechanical components | Electrical components | Mechanism or working principle | Link Address |
---|---|---|---|---|
1 | robotic machine arms | photoelectric, proximity or ardino sensors | A robotic controller moves the petri-plates for loading purposes, cleaning the petri-plates and helps in packing or loading the media into petri-plates. The sensors will convert force acting on them into an electrical signal during loading the media into petri-plates | https://youtu.be/8SC7EQCqksI |
2 | conveyor belts or roller belts | peristaltic pumps | Conveyor belts will transport petri-plates in a continuous manner for loading and packing of media filled petri-plates. Media is filled in a tube fitted inside the pump casing, where it draws content in and propelling media away from the pump. | https://youtu.be/jcaXtVLDWnA |

Features for Petri plate loading machine
- We must select petri dish filling machines specialized for some dimensions contact plates and more.
- One of the advantages of using our filling machines over the competitors is that our machines takes up less space, even though the lids are completely off for faster drying.
- Machine can be used with diagnostic culture media, tissue culture, agricultural filling processes and anything else that requires filling processes.
- Production rates on our machines are based on a time. Custom machines quoted upon request.
All of our petri dish filling machines come with the following standard modules:
- Enclosed drying environment
- Open lid drying
- Print station
- Adjustable dry time
- Multi-cavity pouring where applicable
- Additive pump where applicable
- Meniscus generation where applicable
The following options are also available for our petri dish filling equipment:
- Individual nozzle volume control
- Bulk loader
- Rotary edge printing
- Passive edge printing
- Nozzle heating
- Packaging
- Upgrades and maintenance for existing machinery
Petri plate Filling:
Based on proven technology, our space saving design takes up less than half of the footprint of the competition with 100% open plate drying all enclosed in a HEPA filtered environment. This machine provides maximum plate density while drying. Even with lids completely off for drying dishes can be nearly touching without causing a problem.
