Welcome to the QtMark.github.io wiki!
This is here more as a todo list and how to than anything.
With just a few tweaks, the theme now seems to work great on the latest Firefox, Chrome, Safari and IE11, and even iceweasel on Debian Jesse. We are targeting developers here, I don't know that it is crazy important that we support older browsers. Chromium (which is always behind quite a bit) and IE11 are probably the oldest that we are going to have to deal with.
ToDo
to definitely do:
- recapture hero image again and again and again to get just the perfect banner (see below), quinn suggested making it a collage to better fill the space
- expand text on main page and acknowledgements page, can always use more
to maybe do:
- set two backgrounds for the items on the home and acknowledgements pages, alternating down the page
- find a way to make NoHome work with this theme
- find a way to disable the suppressed links "feature" of the theme - This appears to be almost impossible without editing the theme. The creators of the theme were rather thorough. One of their javascript functions actually removes the href attribute from the tag. They then run that function from $(document).ready() at the bottom of the same script file. Since the target is no longer defined, there really isn't much I can do, short of modifying the theme.
- find a way to move the popup on the members page, the way I found moves both the small box and the full box down, not really what I wanted.
- rss feed of google groups in page
- irc embedded in page, this didn't work as well as I had hoped, but maybe I'll try it again
- multiple automatically changing hero images using a slider box
How To
creating a hero image
- Set color theme to Solarized (Light)
- Hide the source list
- Make full screen
- Place cursor so indent lines appear
- Place mouse cursor so the minimap viewport appears
- Crop
- Transform
- Crop
- Hope to get at least 1200px wide (more would be great) and maybe 400px high
- Maybe add slogan directly to hero image (this is a must if we use multiple hero images)
