Sl. No. Components or Parts Used (Mechanical / Electrical) Mechanical / Working Principle Identified
Hopper Acts as the feeding unit. It temporarily stores the grains and releases them gradually onto the conveyor to maintain a controlled flow.
Conveyor Belt Transports the grains from the feeding section towards the segregation section. The belt moves continuously over rollers and carries the grains at a controlled speed.
DC Gear Motor Provides rotational motion to the conveyor belt. The gearbox reduces speed and increases torque, allowing the belt to move smoothly while carrying the grains.
Motor Driver Acts as an interface between the microcontroller and DC motor. It controls the motor according to the signals received from the controller.
ESP32 Processes the information obtained from the camera and determines whether the material should be accepted or rejected. It sends the required control signal to the segregation mechanism.
Servo Motor Converts the electrical control signal into controlled angular movement. It operates the segregation mechanism when unwanted material is detected.
Segregation Flap / Gate Changes the path of the material by moving into a particular position. It diverts rejected material away from the main output path.
Mesh / Sieve Separates particles mechanically according to size. Smaller particles pass through the mesh openings while larger grains continue along the main path.
Collection Container Collects the separated materials at the output, keeping accepted grains and rejected materials in their respective sections.
Supporting Frame Provides structural support and maintains the position and alignment of the mechanical and electrical components.
Power Supply Provides the required electrical power to the ESP32, camera, motors, motor driver and other electronic components.
Connecting Wires Establish electrical connections between the different components, allowing power and control signals to flow through the system.
