6.5 Mechanisms and resource specifications
Density of foam sheet is 0.048g/cm^3 = 48 kg/m^3.
Radius of the turntable is 0.17m.
Volume of the turntable is 4/3pirrr=0.02 m^3.
Mass= density* volume= 48 * 0.02 = 0.96kg
Total mass= 0.96+0.5=1.46kg
Force = m*g = 1.46 * 9.81 = 14.32 N
Torque = Fr = 14.320.17 = 2.434 Nm
Torque * Factor of safety = 2.434* 1.5=3.651Nm =0.03651kg-cm
Adapter selection
1 DC Motor is used hence
1*300=300mA and 12V
Factor of safety =1.2
300 *1.2= 360mA
Hence the adapter should be 12V
