3.PROBLEM DEFINITION:

NEED STATEMENT:

ARK Agritech startup is developing low cost automated systems to grow micro greens domestically, especially for urban city compact micro greens domestically, especially for urban city compact homes. Increasing nutri awareness has generated this global need.

Design a semi automatic microgreen system which is able to provide good and hygienic yield. The system must be portable and easy to use.

3.4 IDENTIFYING CONSTRAINTS:

2 The system should work for 24 hours continuously
3 The cost of system should not exceed INR 4000
4 The average capacity of water should not be more than 2 litres.

7 The system to be used for purely domestic purpose
8 The system must produce the yield within one or two weeks

Design a semi automatic microgreen system that is able to provide good and hygienic yield. It should grow plants with more nutritional content. The microgreen should be easily portable and user-friendly. The cost of the system should not exceed INR 4000. It should function continuosly for 24 hours.

3.5 Identifying functions:

3 Sensors required for the system to sense the plant bowls and keep them moist by dropping water

PROBLEM DEFINTION VERSION 1.3:

Design a semi automatic microgreen system , that is able to provide good and hygienic yield. The system should be portable and easy to use. It should also be eco-friendly and easy to handle. The size of the microgreen should not exceed the space of more than 2’2’2 feet. The microgreen system should function continuously for 24 hours. The total cost of the system should not exceed INR 4000. It should grow plants which are rich in nutrients. To avoid the dehydration of plants, each plant bowl in the system is kept moist by the droppler which ensures the growth of plants.
