Replacing PEI sheets on MK42 bed - PrusaMK2Users/MK2_Tips_and_Tricks GitHub Wiki
cornbinderkid's 3 time record method of replacing PEI sheets...redneck style
•Use a gallon ziplock (TIP:users Aaron and Ryan recommend to make a pinhole vent in ziplock bag) get the real deal limonene don't fuck around with goo gone or turpentine... Put the limonene in a spray bottle helps with the mess... Use a healthy amount of it too you don't want to have to soak twice be sure to apply the paper towels to all the adhesive and press the firmly into it so they don't fall off... Wear gloves if your afraid of solvents and sticky shit... I'm used to playing in grease and oil so it doesn't bother me... And be sure you bring the thing to full room temp before applying the new one a dust free spot is really nice to have as well because as soon as you wipe the bed with IPA it's like beat the clock before dust settles and gets I between sorta like putting a screen protector on your phone (edited)
•The 10mil is not as bendy either so it's harder to work with... I use a bondo squeegee with a paper towel taped to it to push air out and apply the new sheet
•I've used around half a bottle on 3 changes and did not use the spray method on the first two just kinda spilling it on which is really wasteful... You want full saturation and have it damn near dripping with the stuff then wedge it in the ziplock and seal it almost all the way leave a small vent hole though you want it to breath a little
•You can even spray a little more in the bag after you stick it in there to be sure but it will just pool up at the bottom of the bag and not do anything yep soak it thoroughly
