Need a separate board due to the fact that power board trace cannot handle current of 80A and as such needs to be regulated through wires and another board. Motors take 5A to hover but are rated at 80A at max (20A per motor). To guard system against this we have fuse to protect the circuit and have considered use of relay as well. Worried regarding FET's ability to facilitate connecters given increased trace size (barrel connectors). Jaden says hold off on Digikey order, asks if crimps are here, Mihai suggests crimping with pliers. RG Pilot is the flight controller of choice and we have confirmation from outside source. Worries arise regarding the price of the Digikey order (currently around $74) and Mihai and Nick will look for ways to drop the price. Optimistic goal is to have a flight capable quadcopter by the end of reading week. Jaden wonders if he can design the project after we leave for the semester and the conclusion is roughly a week of decently informed work full time. We are having some problems with the PRU and flight controller running on the BBB and despite lots of searching through forums and blogs Dave and Mihai have yet to find answers to their particular problems. Dave made an ECO with regards to the changes to the projects (1N rail guards, 5cm drift/minute, 8 min flight time etc...). Mihai and Dave both ran into problems with regards to the positional and velocity tracking for the flight controller.
