The Gantt visual supports using custom Power BI report pages as tooltips. When report consumers hover over a row in the data grid or timeline, the custom tooltip page will display, automatically filtered to the specific task they are highlighting.

How to Enable Report Page Tooltips

Step 1: Configure your custom tooltip page

Before linking the page to your Gantt chart, ensure your target report page is configured to act as a tooltip. Under the formatting options for the report page itself, navigate to Page Information and toggle Allow use as tooltip to On.

Step 2: Select the tooltip page on the Gantt visual

1. Select the Gantt visual on your report canvas.
2. In the Format pane, click on the General tab.
3. Locate and expand the Tooltips card.
4. Set the Type to Report page and select your custom page from the Page dropdown.

Step 3: Hover to display the tooltip

Hover your mouse cursor over any task in the data grid or timeline. The visual will render your custom report page tooltip, showing context-specific information filtered for the selected task.
