The Toolbar settings card in the Format pane allows report authors to enable an interactive toolbar at the top of the Gantt visual and fully customize its appearance, layout, buttons, and colors. This toolbar gives report viewers direct control over timeline zooming, full-text searching, period filtering, and PDF exporting.

1. Button Visibility Settings

You can show or hide individual buttons and inputs on the toolbar to control what interactive features are available to report viewers.

Zoom

Toggle this switch to On to display the timescale Zoom In and Zoom Out buttons on the left side of the toolbar. Viewers can click these to quickly step between hour, day, week, month, and year timeline scales.

Zoom To Fit

Toggle this switch to On to display the Zoom To Fit button (represented by a double arrow or zoom icon). Clicking this automatically scales the timeline so the entire project duration fits into the visible viewport width, eliminating horizontal scrolling.

Search

Toggle this switch to On to display a full-text search input field on the right side of the toolbar. Report viewers can type keywords here to instantly search, filter, and highlight matching tasks in the Gantt grid.

Filters

Toggle this switch to On to enable local, column-level filtering in the Gantt grid. Once turned on, a filter funnel icon appears next to each column header.

Clicking the funnel icon opens a dropdown menu containing text filtering options:

  • Starts With
  • Ends With
  • Contains
  • Equal
  • Empty
  • Does Not Start With
  • Does Not End With
  • Does Not Contain

PDF export

(New in Gantt v3.2)

Toggle this switch to On to display the PDF export button on the toolbar. When clicked, it generates and downloads a single-page PDF containing the entire Gantt visual, including off-screen rows.

2. Style and Layout Settings

You can customize the heights, fonts, borders, and colors of your toolbar and its buttons to match your report's theme template.

Height

Set the total vertical height of the toolbar container in pixels.

Background Color

Select the background fill color of the toolbar area.

Font Color

Select the color for all text labels and button icons on the toolbar.

Font Size

Adjust the text font size on the toolbar.

Button Background

Select the background fill color for all toolbar buttons.

Button Background Hover

Select the background fill color of the buttons when hovered over by a user.

Button Height

Adjust the height of the toolbar buttons in pixels.

Button Horizontal Padding

Set the horizontal padding inside the buttons to control spacing.

Filter Icon Size (available from v3.2)

Adjust the size of the filter icons on the toolbar.
