Set Focus time - Profitbase/PowerBI-visuals-Gantt GitHub Wiki

The Focus Time settings card in the Format pane allows you to control the default timescale scroll position when users open your report. You can configure the visual to align automatically around the current date, a specific custom date, or a calculated period relative to today.

1. Focus Period Options

Today

The default setting. The Gantt chart will always center its timeline scroll position around the current date. It will show a short period before today and a longer period after today to give users immediate context.

Timeline focused around today's date

Custom Date

Aligns the timeline to a specific, hardcoded date of your choice when the report opens.

Timeline focused around a custom date

Period Before/After Today

Calculates the focus time dynamically by shifting the view window forward or backward by a specific number of days relative to the current date.

2. Default Scroll Position

Scroll Position

Choose whether the chart scrolls to your configured Focus Time or to the start of the schedule when the report loads.

(New in Gantt v3.1)

Select the default scroll behavior from the Scroll Position dropdown:

  • Focus Time: Scrolls the timeline to center on the date calculated by your configured Focus Period options (such as Today or a Custom Date).
  • Start of the chart: Automatically scrolls the timeline to the start date of the first task in your schedule.
